    Gardevoir is terrible even without it, and everyone uses sleep clause anyways. Heracross is alright, but really isn't a great Pokemon, it's somewhat viable, but there are better Pokemon out there. It's best attribute is that its STAB is extremely hard to resist, but its stats are pretty lackluster, aside from its attack.

    Well the first step is to figure out what Pokemon are viable in competitive play, Gardevoir certainly isn't and Heracross is eh. I really suggest just reading analyses, articles and teams at Smogon to get an idea of how things work.

    Mysidia is pretty easy but isn't active enough and people used unreleased things, PBC is somewhat easy to ladder on, but they use different tiers than Smogon, same goes for the PO Beta Server. Smogon is the only server out of the 3 that uses the same tiers as us, but is easily the hardest to ladder on, I don't intend to be mean, but at your skill level, you'll be hard pressed to break 1100.

    This might give you an explanation. Basically you go play on a large server and battle to increase your ranking.
