I just saw pokemon dystopia version and I have to ask did you think of that before the contest started? it seems so organized and planned out I could have sworn it was a mod hack or something. don't take this the wrong way, but dude you just made this competition a hell of a lot harder. I thought I had a great one when I submitted a PMD3 then I read the rules again, and well since I'm starting from scratch and I've seen the competition, again don't take this the wrong way, I'm going all out to match or exceed your concept.

    let the games begin.

    The Chronicler of Shadows, Jasonwolf.

P.S. good luck. Though I doubt you'll need it. I'm sure gonna a hell of lot of it though.

The more friends you make, the better life gets.
    I concur. Hello :)

Fine............. *seethes with rage*..... those children better appreciate you

I do have an odd concept for you though. I don't know if you've ever heard of it, it's this brand new thing they've just come up with, but I think it could serve you well. It's called a "day off". You should Google that, and then once you've done enough research you should have one.

Anyway, your game looks frikkin' amazing. It's almost to the point where even topping yourself doesn't surprise me anymore, because you do it every time I see something of your creation . Perhaps you should try being less awesome next time we talk and you can knock me off my feet . I'm not familiar with the contest but if it's a voting thing you certainly have mine, sir! That is incredible!

And if you know me, you'll know that awkward questions are my specialty . I will describe things in graphic detail until everybody recoils in their seats. I am the world's master at playing chicken, you see. For I am not a chicken, but I have one hell of a cockerel.

It's okay. I forgive you and your rebellious fingers.

Apocalypse: Funtime! Coming to a theater near you, December 22, 2012!

It's a bit odd trying to figure them all out though. Fire types would have a high metabolism, thus generall smaller lifespans than their respective real world counterparts (When such a thing exists.) but Charizard line - Dragons. It was a big case of what do?!

F yeah Pikahu! I'm a Bulbasaur in the first and a Charmander in the second. But I don't get it. I'm not exactly docile xD Well we all know the partner is the best character! It just goes without saying, so I had to choose another. (Completely logical :3)
    Hero x Partner yeah!

Well, almost all of my real life friends are girls. I'd like to get one of my guyfriends who moved away to help, but given I can't contact him... xD
And nope. We aren't doing that. Ever. Unless it sounds convincing.

And yes! I'm glad to have you~

    Three protagonists. Marcel's one too~

And you can have it. Apocalyptic scenarios are too grim for me. I want teh lulz.

A Kangaskhan does sound like a good idea, but she'd be dead by the time of this story if she were. Olivia's already quite ancient by present date as it is. She'll be kicking the bucket by the end of the decade, for sure.
I wanna give the species varying lifespans, to add a more natural touch to things.

DUDE YOU WANNA BABBLE ABOUT POKÉMON MYSTERY DUNGEON ALL DAY? I KNOW I WOULD. What's your Pokémon then, and respective personality? I've gotta know! And best character? No, that's silly. We all know Spinda is the best. Or Chatot. Also heroxpartner shipping? Y/Y?

Please please please tell me you're a guy? I'm the only male voice actor so far, and there's so many voices to do Dx
Of course, I'd need to hear your voice to best decide who would match you, but you're welcomed in already if you want to join. There will be someone you can voice, regardless of gender~

Actually, all three are the heroes. They'll all be in the party, and it will switch between them in the beginning, until they all join together. With extra side members to help out every now and then, of course~

The region is entirely new, yes. I was toying with the idea of a post apocalyptic world where Pokémon had outsurvived humans, but none of the regions had all the things I desired. But mapmaking is fairly fun~

Oliver's mother is indeed a Charizard! Unless she's not. But she's most likely a Charizard.

I'm actually rather unsure of the big bad at this point. It's very highly likely that it will be Kyurem, with Verdanté's prompting involved. But there's an almost equally high chance that it will be Darkrai (Marcel's arch-enemy, sort of kind of). And I've played with the idea of making Giratina the big bad for reasons, but I scrapped that plan due to an unsustainable back story over the matter. (Also relevant to Marcel, but differently.)

I have no idea what I'm going to make it in. I came here to find a coder who could do all the work for me who could help me figure out what's best, and also assist in the aforementioned coding. Game Maker is a strong possibilty. Though I still need to play with it to get a handle of how it works. And as long as it can support Voice acting, and the other features I've wanted.

Just like gravity, I see x3

Well, Oliver is a Charmeleon with a grumpy attitude and a serious minded disposition. More truthfully though, he's absent minded and rather calm, even while intelligent. He wants to be taken seriously and seen as a hero, which he will make a wish to Jirachi to become, and thus displacing Verdanté as the Hero of Truth. (Also called the Sage of Truth.)
He does adore stories and their heroes, and he genuinely wants to live as one, but overbearing pressure from his mom (A former hero herself, who traveled with Saber) and the villagers he lives with has cracked him and ruptured his self-esteem. His mom is excessively tough in raising him, and he's expected to be heroic, so he has no positive reinforcement, you see.

The second is Nena, a Dewott. Despite her enigmatic and lively personality, she's actually rather calm and intelligent. She acts dull-witted and goofy so that others will like her, and she's grown into the mask. Her own insecurities have driven her to heroism, and she's often the first to take action and do what's right. She's the rightful Hero of Ideals, but she's just not ready yet. Oliver's wish will spin things out of control and rush her into her role as the Knight of Ideals, even while she's not ready.
(She doesn't know she's supposed to be the hero yet.)

And lastly is Saber (His real name is Marcel), a Keldeo, and a hero as previously mentioned. Without any heroic things to do, he's become despondant, immature, and selfish. He's cut off contact with his former friends, and wanders around the continent aimlessly. He's also sick of being unnappreciated for his former heroics, despite the fact that they happened several decades ago. His personal story will be focused on redemption.

Any questions? Feel free to ask, for I seek a large tip. :3
And I have just learned why my last message had supposedly opted to not show it's endearing face. I have apparently posted it on my own profile, as I had just done with this one.
    Ah ha ha. Whoops.

Bah, it looks like my last message in the conversation deleted itself. Oh computer, I love you so. So no need to apologize, computers hate me too~

And I have put that new power to use immediately. My adoration of you carries the sheer intensity of a thousand suns, my good man.

In truth, I have not one, but THREE protagonists. Of course, Oliver does outshine the other two sonfar, I'll be honest. Shall I serve you a delicious platter of detail, or does the sir prefer a light snack this evening?

It's true. But we can't all be a man as bodacious as Teddy. It's an unfortunate fact of life.

And there's never too many question marks!
Really, I'm not sure what it is! I'd like to think that I'm departing from the usual cache of role playing tradition, but I'm not trying to shove it away either~

It's just a story that decided it wanted to be a game!

Edit: The story was holding itself hostage. I had no choice in the matter Dx

My health is indeed good, and my game is darn fan-ny~
How kind of you to ask! How is thyself responding to thy recent twists of fate and fortune?
My ideas are still in development, but I'm hoping to produce a whimsical adventure about the meanings of heroism. There's so much that it's hard to simply summarize~

The kids could do with some real-life education; I'm doing them a favour. Somebody has to educate all the little boys about what goes where. I'll entitle the seminar "Vag Who?"

My wazoo smells wonderful. You can take my word on that.

LOL. You gained about 500 points for linking to something concerning Meryl Streep XD - also I must ask. Did you listen to the song I linked while you were reading my case study?! It adds to the effect, I promise!

The debate becomes less fun if you go and research everything . I am speaking only from anecdotal evidence. You won't find the true nature of any of this written anywhere on the internet, it has to be observed, which is what I've spent a great deal of time doing. I have anecdotal evidence up the wazoo (yes, the wazoo!)

In the end though, I think what a lot of this comes down to is perspective. A lot of the things I've said you've basically agreed with and then said "but this is a good thing" or "this is the way it should be" and I simply don't agree a lot of the time. It's OK though, I don't really expect you or anybody else to understand why I find this to be such a disturbing phenomenon, no matter how hard or how articulately I try to explain it. And the fact that most of your arguments make a lot of sense for some reason doesn't change the fact that every time I hear of someone being pregnant I still think "Damn, we've lost another one".

Anyway yes, we seem to be breaking a ton of records for the longest VM ever, to the point where it has become too indimidating even for me... so I'm going to stop for now . I want to keep going, but I'd prefer to do it next time you have the time to come on Skype so I can actually think on my feet and reply rather than having to sit here for more than an hour painstakingly coming up with a rebuttal for each argument you've made... because my **** there are a lot of them. Like, I was sitting there for half an hour reading over everything you said and trying to articulate the answers and it's just so overwhelming lmao. Also, I think if we're talking in person I might come off a whole lot less unlikeable than I feel like I do in these VMs XD

About Me

  • About Barrels
I was born. Then I grew up. But that wasn’t fun, so I grew back down again and started catching Pokémon.

Most people are decent - and the more friends you make, the better life gets. So if you'd like to say hi, go ahead and do that thing! ;)
I like creating. Writing, drawing, vidding, programming… you name it, there’s a good chance I’ve failed abysmally at it. (Probably had fun though.)

In general? Philosophising about stuff I’ll never know, reading Brian Michael Bendis, ordering things I have no need of from Amazon, arting around in Photoshop and watching old Munsters episodes. Not all at the same time.

Snorlax. Since forever. I used to dream about getting a big ol’ Snorlax-shaped beanbag.

…Who am I kidding? I *still* dream about that.
