It probably -would- be an easy win, unless Daniel manages to pull off his super secret combo attack. But yeah, he's not experienced with battling But Kid Mind already asked me for a battle, so he's kind of first in line when that time comes.

Aaawh, poor Linc He should try fighting Daniel instead, at least they're around the same level, Poké-wise. How's the battling in RP? I'm not really sure how you find out when your Pokémon is beat or not.

Thanks for the welcome . This isn't my first forum (I frequent the Sims 3 forums) but it is my first time rping in a forum. I usually rp in a chat group with friends (my friends are writing majors, so I'm used to writing a lot). As for how I did that with my signature it was the same as on the sims forums pretty much. you type [ Title= insert words here ][ insert image here ][ /title ]. Just remove the spaces between the words and the brackets.

Yeah. After all, since speed is not evasion it has to be useful for /something/ right? :P Since this isn't a primitive game battle system where the faster pokemon necessarily attacks before the opponent can do anything.

I generally follow a 3 day policy. If someone does not post for 72 hours after it becomes their turn and they are directly holding me up I then consider skipping them. I often let it go for a couple of days more depending on my mood. However if it becomes a repeat problem I tend to become less tolerant.

Hey Lincoln. Just letting you know that incase you missed it I totally posted in Pokemon Fallout.

Also, I couldn't help but notice a PTA related conversation in your VMs. xD Your pokemon movesets are really far from top tier. (4 offensive moves is generally a waste if you're trying to be competitive.)

He has a point about combining random moves though. Combos are generally very dependent on speed, so unless your pokemon is approx twice as fast or more, you reaaally shouldn't just combine random moves to make a significantly stronger move. The reason for this is that if you assume it works you're bunnying because the opponent is fast enough to interrupt the combo with an attack of their own.

Paralyzing someone therefore lets you dish out heavy combos on them, making it pretty overpowered as a status. Priority attacks are the other way to easily combo.

You are making it hard not to argue, but my combo moves are proof of my point. its all about the trainer and pokemon. I don't have any real problem with you having those moves so long as you realize they are still based on your own pokemon's stats and your use of them.

well yes, I have known you can get all the moves as TMs, but seriously isn't it a bit cheap to just teach your pokemon all the best moves? I know its not against the rules, but lets be honest. shouldn't that be something you limit yourself? I won't argue the point, but I just think you're putting too much focus on the moves themselves instead of some application of them and your pokemon. Just saying moves are only as good as the pokemon and their trainer.

hey I just noticed something. Linc's pokemon know moves they don't learn for many many more levels, so how do they know them? I was checking tirtouga's wiki page to see what solid rock was and to see type match ups were like, and I saw aqua tail was learned at level 41. Bixi is level what 13? I'm quite sure the rules for the RP were that your pokemon's moves must be in accordance with your pokemon's levels.

If I'm wrong then damn that sucks since that's what I've been going off of, and it puts me at a major disadvantage to everything.

Well when you think about it Isaac wouldn't teach it like a class he'd probably just show him some tricks or help Linc train his pokemon some. No actual lesson.

I am just going to say this though about you using/making combos:

number one rule: it's all about making it not over powered. When making a combo don't always think how can I make this awesome think how can I keep this realistic. Obviously a combo is more then one move so it is more often then not stronger in generic dmg, but don't just make it deal combined dmg. if you do it's not a combo its just two move used one after the other. when it comes to bonus effects it's okay to make all the possibilities still count, but keep the chances low especially when you can get more then one per hit. Overall make combos an interesting way to use the best parts of moves, and keep a battle fun.

going to see that revised post now.

Well like I said in the RP/anime style a turn is the attack and response not two random attacks. often moves like protect or detect are instantly activated in response to an attack. Basically after someone posts their attack you post with a protect and the attack is instantly blocked.

In this case it's a bit more complex, you can say that again, in this case it's a bit more complex, because of all the stat calculations. Basically I'll go back to my point with revenge though since it cuts out all the speed stats. After Shieldon began to dig Cauldero charged up magma tomb (dig=attack, magma tomb=response). This turn Cauldero is waiting for Shieldon to attack, so Cauldero goes second. (Dig= attack first, Magma tomb= response second). then the turn ends and a new one begins.

Biggest rule in RP/Anime style: DO NOT FOCUS ON THE GAME RULES!!!

Anime and RP styles are based on a much bigger system. They are about actually using every aspect of the pokemon and the trainer to battle. Basically enviromental effects are more then just weather. You have to take account of basic brains and common sense, simple actions that can change the course of the battle, and most importantly, atleast to me, think! In the games you can get through all the gyms just using type match ups and simple combos. ex.(Beat Drayden today using swagger and foul play. one hit killed his Haxsorous. [I restarted my black version since my first time through was just rushed so I could explore the region and all that.)

In this style you just gotta look at what is going on and act on it. Hope you understand where I am coming from. I've been doing pokemon RP's for years on a couple of sites, and well you just learn to expand your tactics.

also you game for the whole thing on combos?

well if you'd like I can show you some tricks for making combo moves for other RPs, and maybe I can have Isaac teach Linc a bit IC.

hope that makes sense to you. I'd also like to say this is based on my Pokemon RP battle experience. Some other people have different personal rules.
