    Quote:
Chicago's government is the most corrupt government in his country and they're way overpowered and controlling.
There are a lot of other municipalities in America that are just as bad as Chicago when it comes to corruption. Detroit is one of them-in fact things are so bad there, including their finances-that the governor appointed an emergency financial manager to take control of the situation there. The corruption in Detroit got so much worse once Kwame Kilpatrick became mayor, and successor Dave Bing isn't much better either. Just like Chicago, people are killing each other every day in Detroit-as well as Flint and Saginaw (there's always a story about some murder on the newscasts from each of the television stations in Detroit and Flint/Saginaw. Not to mention the school systems in the aforementioned cities are dysfunctional train wrecks-in fact, I attended the regional vocational center that happens to be owned and operated by the Flint school district. I took computer classes there, and I didn't learn much of anything out of them. In fact, I got so frustrated with the vocational center, that I switched into building maintenance and eventually dropped out of there altogether. (Sidebar: my dad also went to that same vocational school, took carpentry there, and told me that he ended up teaching the class because things were so screwed up there!)

I get it. I'd would prefer that you differentiate between government as in politicians and those that work for the state, and "government" as the people whose interests you believe directs the government's every actions.

What evidence are there around them? I see a troubled person that shoots a couple of kids. I'm not familiar with the evidence you're talking about.

I see what you're getting at. In political science we make a distinction between government and private interests. It sounds like you believe government is at the mercy of private interests - and you believe private interests control us all. I'd like for you to be more clear in your vocabulary though, because muddling these two concepts together can be distracting. Like you say the government is a secret society that is brainwashing us but has no say in anything? How can you brainwash, an act that requires initiative, when you have no say in anything?

I think you mean that private interests are the ones creating lies through the media - because as you've said, the government has no say even though they know what's going on. The media corporations and the capitalist elite of the country. I don't fully agree with that, because I'm not convinced either way.

Why do you think those atrocities are conspiracies?

Well if you believe politicans are puppets, you must at least admit that you can't really consider the government "the government" like it acts with one voice. What do you mean by propaganda? and brainwashing? I don't think I'm brainwashed - just convinced that government is something we need

I don't feel that it's Obama's fault completely, it has a lot to do with your system of government. Obama's a decent intellectual, and he likes to spend time thinking instead of coming to a rash decision. He shows leadership when he signs off every drone assassination on his kill list.

He's not a puppet from Congress. Congress is able to block anything he does, and so can the Supreme Court if they find it unconstitutional. Your separation of powers system is all about checks and balances - so when Obama can't get anything done, you could say that your government is working as designed. If you want more leadership come to Canada! We're complaining about the government passing omnibus bills - which are basically bills that contain legislation that have to do to with EVERYTHING. And so the opposition finds it to be undemocratic because the ruling party has a majority and can pass basically whatever they want. In parliamentary countries such as Canada and the UK, the government is designed for getting legislation passed whereas in the US it's all about blocking it and revising. Don't forget Obama has a presidential veto.

It's not so much that the government is controlling the media, it's more like the media is controlling the government. It's not very accurate describing the government as "they", because there is no coherent "they". Your American government isn't very strong and is fragmented between private interests that can lobby quite easily. It's basically the voice of the people, and corporations are people too. The government works for whoever has their hands on them, and right now it's clear that the people have to have more say in the government.

And don't get baked when you're making an argument XD Although it "opens your mind", I don't think it helps at all with logic. It helps for artists, but they never had to give a crap about logic anyways.

Your missing one key point though - Who owns the Government?

I find it ironic that you teared into people, saying that they don't know you, yet you make a comment like that.

    Pot kettle black much?

And I've agreed with you already - He is a puppet as well. Really, all politicians are.

Again, that comment was truthful. You did go on a triad of things that should be banned, and your aka is halfbaked.

I've spoken naught but the truth.

And yes, I've smoked before. But I limit myself to one a year in remembrance of a friend.

    I'm not disputing that he's a puppet.

Who said I was talking ****? My entire comment was truthful.

I'm sure some of them have to be leaders though. Managing a campaign is really really hard (and why I would never run for office XD). I don't think it's fair to describe them all as manipulators and corrupt though. They have to mediate the relationship between society and private interests. The real problem, to me, is that private interests infiltrate their way into government, and the people who want to do things for the public good have to deal with them as well.

And US parties lack leadership compared to a lot of democracies around the world, but that's something unique about the US system itself. In Canada, for example, the party leader has a lot more control over his party, so it's easier for things to get done. The separation of powers system that the Founding Fathers stuck to has a habit of not getting things done because things are getting vetoed/voted down left and right. But some people would say it's a good thing because it would help prevent tyrannical government. Not that I fully agree with that, but it's the rationale

I kept asking since you kept changing your answer. One time yes, next time no, next time yes but still useless, and repeat with some variation. If you had answered it, and didn't change your answer pretty much the next post down, I'd have had no need to continue asking it.

And please, learn to count. I've only 29 posts in that thread, 7 of which were me asking that question.

You want me to accept your reasoning? Learn to count. Learn to spell. And most importantly, learn to space out your posts.

Mamoswine just has better raw stats and does actually learn Earthquake by levelup. And Piloswine is not bad, but not needed in a team either.

Why is it even so crucial to you and more importantly, why are you asking me? I'm not an expert on the aesthetics behind statism or anarchism, nor am I going to waste my time trading barbs with someone over an older-than-dirt issue that no one ever agrees upon. Mr. X often seems to back up his claims with studies regarding the issue. I suggest you do the same. Try Google Scholar. I've already used it to double check that there is no scientific correlation whatsoever between gun ownership and penis size, so I can vouch for its reliability in certain departments.
