I do plan on it! I'll try to write up a character this week somewhere, as I still have to write up a A&D competition and study for some exams. I already have some general ideas. Am I right to assume to ice would be in the element of water?

Yeah, I guess with a country as big as that you have more divide in music tastes, just like in America. We have a lot of focus on Electronic and singer songwriter recently, while something like the Punk scene is almost non-existent here.

Also, I've been reading through Gunpowder, and that looks so good. I really admire how much attention to detail you put in those write-ups.

Yeah, the Netherlands and Germany do lead that scene. It's a shame I don't like that kind of music though. I have no idea what kind of music would be big in Australia, although I think your poppunk scene is a lot bigger than ours.

Sounds a lot like the Dutch music scene, although we probably have a bigger electronic scene.

Yeah, the primary school teacher school focuses a lot more on the pedagogical aspect of teaching, while middle and high school teachers need to focus more on the information they're teaching. We divide middle and high school again because the depth in to which you go into the material really differs. Because you choose which course you take in high school, it is way more detailed.

Haha, I guess you wouldn't know that much about it, yeah. It's nice too see that people don't skip Australia when they tour, haha. You're rock scene is also very active, right?

Owh, we change them up a little differently. We have the first school which is 2/3 and some 4 year olds, then 4 till 12, then middle school which is 13 till 15/16, and high school is 16 through 18. You have to have a different degree for all of them, if I remember correctly. I expect 6 year olds to be very different in behavior compared to 12 year olds. Although I'm not really an authority on that, haha. Do you guys have to do a school play in your last year of primary though?

I think they just play small comedy clubs. I check out a lot of theaters around here, and I don't think I've seen them playing there. I doubt they'd fill them up. I don't visit Amsterdam often, so if there are foreign comedians in comedy clubs I don't here of it. Although I think some U.K. comedians do visit here. I assume they do just go to Australia?

Yeah, I've noticed that a lot of people on pokemon forums want to get in to teaching, haha.

It's super important. Teachers have their biggest influence on the kids at that age. I know I haven't been challenged in primary school, and that has given me some motivation problems later in life, which is a common problem. Primary school teachers should be prepared to recognize the needs of kids. You're totally right, it's a really shaping phase. I like working with teenagers better, I think. You can have discussion with those. I do plan on teaching on in the Dutch equivalent of High School. Because you have to choose which subject you take, most people in high school history are way more interested than in middle school, which is really motivational. How young do you want to teach them? Like 3/4 year olds, or 11/12 year olds?

That's good to hear, I'll have to check out their touring schedule then. It would be more likely for them to visit an English speaking country, I think. Those have a bigger audience. We don't really get foreign comedians over here, outside of the smaller comedy clubs. I think the way comedy works here is a bit too different from countries like the U.S.

I have 2 weeks of exams as of now, then 4 days of school, then the week after it 2 days, and from that point on I have free to study. I'm going to do History, and at the moment the plan is to get into teaching.

I wouldn't be able to deal with primary school kids. I've taught PE at a primary school a couple of times, and they're so annoying. But I guess PE makes them very lively, so that doesn't help. They were better when I had to teach English they were a bit better. I guess they more your thing than mine, haha. Do you like working with kids?

No, I don't know if they ever perform outside the U.S. If they ever come here though, I'm all on that muk. We did have a Dutch version that was hugely popular which I really wanted to go to, but they were sold out already.

Yeah, I have 6 school days and some exams left, and then I'm done with High School, and starting uni. So you're gonna be a teacher? Primary school or a specific course?

Drew was the best because he was actual friends with all the contestants too, so they had a bit of a playful dynamic. Aisha is a bit more of an outsider.

What are you studying? I think I remember you doing something with dance, but I don't think there is an university for that, haha.

I still like Clive and Drew better, but she's still a good host I feel, yeah.

I don't see anything wrong with that. That means I'm goddamn adorable.

About Me

  • About gimmepie
    Hi whoever is reading this

I'm gimmepie (obviously not my actual name, but I prefer not to use that on PC). I'm 19 years old, have high-funtioning autism and am an Australian. Currently I am studying Primary School Education at university and I work somewhat casually as a ballroom dance coach at my studio.

This is my third year now as a member of PC and I thoroughly enjoy it here. You can primarily find me typing up a storm in the Roleplay Corner or quite often sharing my love of music in the song-rating thread in Forum Games but I tend to pop up in all kinds of places.

I like to think I'm a friendly guy, albeit stubborn and opinionated, so if you feel like talking just drop me a VM or PM and I'll probably reply as soon as I see it.

PC Supporter since 2014 (Currently Crystal Tier)
Moderator of the Roleplay Theatre since June 2015

Most RPs GM'd at once: Six (I'm pretty sure that's a record but I dunno)
My interests are pretty varied and they keep me sane when I'm supposed to be studying.

As I said before I teach at my local ballroom studio, I also train there myself as I am also a competitor. Dancing is one of the most important parts of my life.

I also love music, a very wide range of it too. I listen to everything from Rock to rap to country. My favourite band is Linkin Park but there are many other artists I love (far too many to list here so VM me if you're curious).

Pokemon has been a part of my life since I was about six. My first game was Pokemon Stadium for the N64 and I watched the anime religiously. These days I'm still in love with the franchise and I buy the main series games whenever they come out. I also sometimes battle on PCs Showdown server. These days I'm not as fond of the anime, but I haven't seen X/Y yet so I don't know.

I am a big lover of improvisational and stand-up comedy. I am arguably the biggest fan of Whose Line Is It Anyway in my country and I spend hours watching it and stand-up shows. I often consider giving stand-up a shot, but I struggle to be funny on cue and I don't have a very good stage presence.

I'm not much of a gamer, but I do enjoy a bit of gaming sometimes. My favourite game is The Last of Us but Starcraft 2 is a close second.

I am an anime lover and, unlike Western shows with which I am very picky about genre, I will watch almost any genre. My favourite anime of all time is Higurashi no Naku Koro ni.

So Close to Show Time

So as I have mentioned before, September marks the month that my dance partner and I will debut as a partnership. We've been working very hard and things are coming along quite nicely, so I'm optimistic about the future right now and really hyped to get the show on the road.

Our first competition will be on the 20th of September, a competition that is already set to mark an influx of new couples in our division. I'm really happy to see the field

Review Aloo - Meg Mac

Welcome to the second serving of my Review Aloo, this time round the Aloo being flavoured with the unique sound of Meg Mac. Essentially, this is a blog category in which I write a brief review of an album, movie, tv series etc. This particular entry will be a bit different however as Meg Mac doesn't have a full album released yet. Due to this I'll be reviewing the entire collection of her songs (which can be found here) and treating this as an album. In particular

Top Ten VGM Songs

So, this week in place of my usual Music Mince (that's late anyway), you're getting a top ten of my favourite video game tracks. I've been listening to a bit of VGM lately on the plug channel, largely so Achromatic could stop flogging it constantly, and I honestly have been surprised at how much I have liked some of what I have listened to.

Video game music will never be one of my favourite things to listen to, but I think it is something people should
