Hey! Just thought I would say that the Round Table splash text is white for me, since white is the default text color for the theme I'm using. It blends in perfectly with the background, which means I can't read the splash without highlighting it. I poked Nah about it, but he told me to tell you since you would know the splash code better.

What is socialism to you? I hear a lot of definitions thrown around, and most of them are false.

Ya, we need to fix the issues that plague us today. Too bad we have too many selfish idiots in the government to do anything about it.

Thats why you seem to hate privatization lol. When its done improperly to only benefit the rich and the government. Classic crony capitalism lol.

Holy crap you guys sound screwed.

Ouch. Australia's national debt is getting higher and higher and higher, especially in the recent years. A sign of government growth. However, its ranked 7 on the human freedom index, so that isn't bad. You guys almost have total personal freedom (really close, but not quite), and you have okay economic freedom (better than the US). I need to see where you guys were like 10 years ago, etc, to truly gauge the growth or decrease in government size. The US, I know for sure has been dropping, and fairly quickly too.

I do not know much about Australia, but I have yet to see an example to see a government get smaller, other than by a successful revolution. Of course, the rule is not always entirely true, but it sort of is. The only counterexample I know would be the Glorious Revolution in England, which after Oliver Cromwell's tyrannical rule, power was shifted over to William of Orange. However, while the people gained rights, this was a great move by the parliament to gain more power over the king. The US government has grown so out of proportion, the founding fathers would kill themselves if they were still alive. My children will be having to bear the brunt of the trillions of dollars of debt. Possibly me too. I think it could be child abuse to have more children because of this! (jk)

Except its entertainment, and people use entertainment for enjoyment. And because I really liked the anime, but wasnt scared, I must have been enjoying it to watch people die bloody deaths. Unless I was watching it for the mystery aspect, but I never go out of my way to watch mystery stuff like I do science fiction. So while the mystery aspect was entertaining, I must conclude at least half of my enjoyment must have been the gory parts.

    Or I'm just over-analyzing this.

The unfortunate thing is, while there are many people like you who vote with whom they believe will bring the best change or help the most people, is that no amount of voting or political activism can prevent the growth of the state. If only it does.

I can't tell if I had more of a negative reaction to the pizza or to a bunch kids/teens being tortured and dying gory deaths (not really a spoiler- its called Corpse Party lol). I think I'm the nasty person for not being taken aback too much lol. I think I'm used to this stuff now lol.

I do not expect people will do the right thing. That is exactly why there is a need for police and other services such as insurance, firefighting, and court systems. Generally the "people are bad" argument actually goes against statists.

What is naive idealism is trusting government to do the right thing, and trusting the people within it, and hoping it does not grow into a totalitarian state. This model has failed for thousands of years, and democracy only limits growth minimally (although Democracy IS the best form of government we know of, but it is terribly flawed). What is naive idealism is hoping the ruling class doesnt start wars, or inflate the currency, or do anything bad to anyone. Just in the past century, because of statism, hundreds of millions of people died. A great depression that led to starvation was created. Even in the US, large internment camps were created for Japanese-Americans. Racism was prevalent with Jim Crow Laws. Only government can create a perpetual war on drugs and terror that kill thousands people, or put thousands of people in jail for a victimless crime. The US jail systems are closing in on the amount of criminals held during Stalin's rule!

Rant over lol. Take it or leave it.

Ill save you more examples, but in the end, it is naive idealism to be a statist. Dont get me wrong, government can do great things. So this isn't "anti-government," this is showing how naive it is to trust it too much. You aren't narrow minded, or the worst of people (in fact you are respectful and nice).

Well the pizza tasted like plastic lol. But Corpse Party shows little children getting tortured and stabbed and worse. And the sound effects were amazing- makes you cringe even if you can't hear anything.

Lets talk about something nicer now lol. We can continue the conversation above if you want, but lets have a goal of 1 week before starting any new political stuff, unless its more fun like... who will the democrats/republicans nominate or something? How ridiculous is Donal Trump?

Are you scared of anything? Like bugs?

No you aren't. But the fact that you stated that anarchy is "no rules" and then went on to say that there cannot be any courts or police, makes anarchists think you know nothing about it (which you may very well do). What were those readings that disproved anarchism? I would like to read them if thats ok because its always good to hear the other side of the argument.

What kind of anarchism do these readings disprove? Anarcho-Communism, Anarcho-Syndacilism, Anarcho-Socialism, Anarcho-Mutualism, Anarcho-Primitivism, Anarcho-Individualism, or Anarcho-Capitalism? There are a few other types of anarchy, but they really only describe the reason for anarchy, not the economic system. For example, Anarcha-Feminism, Anarcho-Pacifism, Anarcho-Christianity, and Queer Anarchism.

Its good, but kinda nasty. It only takes 2 hours to watch.

About Me

  • About gimmepie
    Hi whoever is reading this

I'm gimmepie (obviously not my actual name, but I prefer not to use that on PC). I'm 19 years old, have high-funtioning autism and am an Australian. Currently I am studying Primary School Education at university and I work somewhat casually as a ballroom dance coach at my studio.

This is my third year now as a member of PC and I thoroughly enjoy it here. You can primarily find me typing up a storm in the Roleplay Corner or quite often sharing my love of music in the song-rating thread in Forum Games but I tend to pop up in all kinds of places.

I like to think I'm a friendly guy, albeit stubborn and opinionated, so if you feel like talking just drop me a VM or PM and I'll probably reply as soon as I see it.

PC Supporter since 2014 (Currently Crystal Tier)
Moderator of the Roleplay Theatre since June 2015
Moderator of the Round Table since September 2015

Most RPs GM'd at once: Six (I'm pretty sure that's a record but I dunno)
My interests are pretty varied and they keep me sane when I'm supposed to be studying.

As I said before I teach at my local ballroom studio, I also train there myself as I am also a competitor. Dancing is one of the most important parts of my life.

I also love music, a very wide range of it too. I listen to everything from Rock to rap to country. My favourite band is Linkin Park but there are many other artists I love (far too many to list here so VM me if you're curious).

Pokemon has been a part of my life since I was about six. My first game was Pokemon Stadium for the N64 and I watched the anime religiously. These days I'm still in love with the franchise and I buy the main series games whenever they come out. I also sometimes battle on PCs Showdown server. These days I'm not as fond of the anime, but I haven't seen X/Y yet so I don't know.

I am a big lover of improvisational and stand-up comedy. I am arguably the biggest fan of Whose Line Is It Anyway in my country and I spend hours watching it and stand-up shows. I often consider giving stand-up a shot, but I struggle to be funny on cue and I don't have a very good stage presence.

I'm not much of a gamer, but I do enjoy a bit of gaming sometimes. My favourite game is The Last of Us but Starcraft 2 is a close second.

I am an anime lover and, unlike Western shows with which I am very picky about genre, I will watch almost any genre. My favourite anime of all time is Higurashi no Naku Koro ni.

Review Aloo - Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Hello readers, and welcome to the first movie review in my Aloo series. Today we'll be looking at the "recent" cinematic sensation and third highest grossing film of all time, Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

The first instalment in the franchises sequel trilogy, set thirty years after the events of Return of the Jedi, follows a group of central characters - Rey (a scavenger from Jakku), Fin (a former Stormtrooper),

Top Ten Anime Series

A while back I did another entry like this, but since then I've watched several more anime and my preferences have changed somewhat. Since I've been watching a lot of anime lately, I figure now would be a great time to redo my top ten list. Some of these shows were on the previous list, but many were not. I'm glad that I've expanded my horizons even further however, because some of these shows are truly amazing and I cannot believe I hadn't seen them yet. Onwards!

Writing this entry was actually a spontaneous decision, but sometimes a small thought pops into your head and rapidly grows until it possesses you. When that happens you tend to feel a burning desire to talk about it. Interestingly enough, it's desires that I want to talk about.

I feel like all of us have hidden desires - goals and aspirations that we rarely make mention of, if ever. More often than not, these relate to things we're passionate about and just

The rules to my self-imposed challenge are simple, pick six pokemon from wonder trade and use

Weekly Music Mince

It's the end of the week again which means it's time for another Music Mince, this time flavoured with some actual thought about each song according to the original format I used.
