I swear my friends tick me off sometimes. I dont get mad very easily and I am generally pretty passive...

So my best friend accused me of being closed minded after we had a disagreement about Trump, which i find very insulting as it is an attack on my intellectual integrity. So I asked him to explain further, and he did. I let him bring out his whole argument, which was crap btw. And so I replied to begin stating examples why I am not closed minded, but he told me to shut up. I try again. Same thing.

Its annoying because we have little debates and I generally hold more knowledge and "beat" them. And then they accuse me (i have a second close friend) of being closed minded without ever hearing my reply.

They have no argument and here is why: 1) they use insults when they are down 2) they mischaracterize my arguments 3) make fun of the argument when I am not around without being able to disprove it

They fit the bill of closed minded. I, on the other hand, actually strive to be open minded. I have switched opinions on immigration, Sanders, Clinton, Trump, and even a whole philosophy, which shows that I am not quite as closed minded as they think. In addition, my underlining structure of my argument rests on the virtue of open mindedness (i wont go into that).

So they have no argument for me being closed minded unless they use a different definition. For example, they could say i am closed minded because I do not switch on certain issues. However, they are not switching either, therefore they are hypocritical.

Its really annoying to be honest. I deal with them mischaracterizing my arguments and one of them just makes up crap and its pretty insulting. I hold conversations with this one friend of mine, who holds similar views to you, and both of us have an open mind, and he can attest to that.

I am starting to think that they are just dumb. I know they aren't, but the way they act when having discussions where they cannot win sort of hints me to that. The thing is, they think they are right, and they just outnumber me. Just because I put forth a rational argument does not make me closed minded. I know when I am wrong. In fact, I was wrong today when I fell for the "No True Scotsman" Fallacy. And I have to go apologize to the person I was talking to.

    Rant over lol.

Thanks. If i ever call in to the podcast, ill link it to you. Or if it makes it to youtube, ill link that to you instead because its probably more entertaining to watch him talk and listen rather than just listen.

Did you watch it? Im considering calling into the show over the summer to talk about stuff, but idk what exactly. I have a few ideas. I have already called into 2 shows on a different channel that has less than 1000 subs and that was pretty cool.

I think Ill chose talking about enforcing contracts and DOI's (i forget the abbreviation and what it stands for, but i know what it is- basically similar to insurance companies).

So i was out for like 3.5 hours and i sent in a few applications, so hopefully ill get hired.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TwjAZD9icLY

The host is the dude on the camera. And the male voice at the beginning is his assistant (idk what the job is called), who introduces the callers (they send in an email) and talks every once in a while. I dont think he talked at all during this one, but yea.
    Stefan Molyneux = host
    Mike = assistant dude
    dude calling = drug dude

I was confused the first time i watched him lol- thats why I'm pointing this out haha. There is another one where this dude moved to a country in Africa from New York, is dating a prostitute, and is buying her family cows lol.

Im about to go drive. I just got to get dressed and stuff. I have to dress up fairly nice i think. Ill wear pants and a button down with a tie to look "professional."

oh my gosh lol. Apparently some libertarian comedian O'rourke just supported Clinton and now people are coming out with these articles that libertarians are split because Rand Paul endorsed Trump lol. 1) no libertarian knows who O'rourke is 2) rand paul is fairly controversial within the libertarian community 3) every libertarian either supports an LP candidate, a few with trump (to go against hillary), or no one at all. This is hilarious.

Looks like Bernie is winning a few states. If it weren't for super delegates, he would have a really good chance at beating Hillary. :/ Now its pretty close.

Oh ok. That is good advice lol. If Im "too good" for a "menial" job, then ill never get a job lol.

The comments section was like "this is the greatest anti-drug commercial ever." I also loved how the caller said the host was his greatest influence in his life, and I bet the host was thinking "since when do i recommend shrooms to go on trips to visit alternate realities"

I dont think I'm above anything- I'm searching for min wage jobs lol. Unless I am misinterpreting you?

so i listen to this call in show about philosophy, politics, and parenting (the subjects switch), and I love the parenting stuff. And this one guy came in and said he does shrooms (dimethyl something something- i forget lol) and the caller was like "I'm going to do shrooms and teach my kids about them when they are older" and "i think I'm a logical and rational person" and he told the host to "try shrooms for 10 minutes" and the host was just like "wtf- mind-altering drugs are blah blah." the guy got so angry about it. i think he was probs on a trip during the call lol.

that is exactly why all the anarchists can't unite lol. xD

Im tired, but I'm considering running up to the store to buy candy. I have $4 in change, but thats it. It will be enough...

Tomorrow ill be applying for jobs. Any ideas? Ill be hitting the mall, so there are a few places there, as well as an arts and crafts store (which I probably have the best change at imo). Apparently landscaping pays really well, but I doubt anyone would hire an out of shape teen because its physically taxing. and idk if I am super interested being an inside person in general, but Ill take anything. Ill make a list tonight and a plan for tomorrow.

I was actually thinking that. Its basically a political club. the school is mostly liberal, and the rest conservative, so this Libertarian friend and I are starting it. Its mostly for Libertarians, and small-gov conservatives, but we trying to make it appealing to liberals too. "Freedom" sort of unites Americans, so yea.

    Quick Self-Introduction
I'm gimmepie. My actual name is Daniel but I generally don't use that much around the forums. Feel free to leave a VM.
    Biography
I've been around PC for a few years now and honestly I love it here. PC's grown to be oddly special to me over my years of using it an escape from real life and I've met a lot of great people and wonderful friends here. On PC you can typically find me in the Roleplay Theatre, Daily, Round Table, PC's Dubtrack room or The Underground. I often pop up in the Treehouse, Forum Games, Battling and Team building, the Lab or on our battle server too though. Basically I'm all over the place.

Outside of PC I'm a competitive ballroom dancer and enjoy spending my time social dancing, training or teaching at the studio I attend. I'm also studying to achieve my Bachelor Degree of Education (Primary) and a Diploma of School Aged Education and Care whilst attempting to become a freelance writer. If there's anything else you want to know feel free to ask!

PC Supporter since 2014 (Currently Crystal Tier)
Moderator of the Roleplay Theatre since June 2015
Moderator of the Round Table since September 2015
Moderator of the Underground since January 2016
    Daily Staff since April 2016

Most RPs GM'd at once: Six (I'm pretty sure that's a record but I dunno).
    Interests
My interests are pretty varied and they keep me sane when I'm supposed to be studying.

As I said before I teach at my local ballroom studio, I also train there myself as I am also a competitor. Dancing is one of the most important parts of my life.

I also love music, a very wide range of it too. I listen to everything from Rock to rap to country. My favourite band is Linkin Park but there are many other artists I love (far too many to list here so VM me if you're curious).

Pokemon has been a part of my life since I was about six. My first game was Pokemon Stadium for the N64 and I watched the anime religiously. These days I'm still in love with the franchise and I buy the main series games whenever they come out. I also sometimes battle on PCs Showdown server. These days I'm not as fond of the anime, but I haven't seen X/Y yet so I don't know.

I am a big lover of improvisational and stand-up comedy. I am arguably the biggest fan of Whose Line Is It Anyway in my country and I spend hours watching it and stand-up shows. I often consider giving stand-up a shot, but I struggle to be funny on cue and I don't have a very good stage presence.

I'm not much of a gamer, but I do enjoy a bit of gaming sometimes. My favourite game is The Last of Us but Starcraft 2 is a close second.

I am an anime lover and, unlike Western shows with which I am very picky about genre, I will watch almost any genre. My favourite anime of all time is Higurashi no Naku Koro ni.

How We did

This was an interesting Olympics for a lot of nations and Australia is no exception to this. We didn't end up up doing as well in the medals department as we did back in London's 2012 Olympics but in many ways it felt like a greater success. By the same token however, we also had many enormous let downs.

The swimming events tend to be among Australia's strongest events, and in this Olympics we saw some great achievements. Our women's 4x100 Freestyle team

The Opening Ceremony

As the Olympics draw nearer to a close, I feel like sharing my thoughts on them a little with a sort of "mini-series". The Rio Olympics have been marred by controversy - something I'll talk about in another entry - but there have been plenty of high notes as well.

I think one of those high notes was the opening ceremony. Whilst the supposed theme of doing more with less was very obviously a necessity, not a choice, I think that the opening

Dance Derby Pie - Kyle Hanagami

So, for a while now I've had a bit of writers block when it comes to my blog, but from a moment of boredom and misery came an idea. I've been sick for ten months now and unable to do the thing that I love most - dance. It's given me a real appreciation for just how much I love the art form and the competitive sport in not only my own discipline (ballroom) but all of its varieties.

In particular, my favourite part of dance and where my

What kind of a non-gamer (or at least a person who isn't a hardcore gamer) gets onto Steam during a big sale and ends up spending around $70AU? What kind of ridiculous human being spends that much money on games when they still have a bunch of other Steam games they barely play or haven't touched and plenty of unfinished console games? The quick answer to that question is "me".

Yesterday, before spending hours watching the painful live coverage of

The Perfect Irony

Most of you probably know, but for those of you that don't, I've been sick for quite a while now. Actually, I've been sick for about seven months now. It begun at the end of October last year when my intestines essentially ceased to function. After a few months, that was sorted out. However, I'm still stick. So I routinely see a doctor for the medical side and a psychologist because being sick plays havoc with my anxiety issues.

The other day I saw
