I usually have almost no empty slots in my Dex by the time I'm at the E4
Oce I'm done with the main storyline I just begin raising lots of Zigagoon and baby Pokemon, and I also breed an entire army of whichever Pokemo I want, generally Beldum, for no reason at all -
3? Lol, that's so the opposite to my strategy, which is, catch everything you see, spend hours training, always change your team so that you go thru the gyms fast, release more than half of our Pokemon before the E4, teach TM moves to all your Pokemon, kick everyone's butt at the league...
It seems to work pretty well -

Of course there will be! Annoying Wingulls, some Hoothoots and Mantines, and Gyaraos perhaps, just to mention some examples, I'll be changing the list of wild Pokemon every now and then so that it there's not only water type and flying type Pokes

Sounds great, and don't worry, I'll make sure to provide a fair amount of catchable fire, fight, well, all those types that can make battles easier before a Metagross actually appears, so, don't worry about having to use a Kakuna
