I would say it is a lack of good debating skills/info/experience that has brought me to this point.

Here is my answer to that question. No comment. The question was an obvious trap, and one I won't fall for. It's like this: Have you stopped being A? Of I say yes, I admit I did or was A. If I say no, I still do or am A. If I say homosexuals shouldn't adopt, I just ticked a lot of people. I'm admitting the foster kids aren't as important and don't need the help. If I say homosexuals should adopt, I'm going against my own beliefs. Both answers are bad and I refuse to answer it. Sorry to disappoint you.

Basically, it's this. Stuff falls down a black hole, but the properties of a black hole mean you can't tell what stuff fell in(no hair theorem). Information, as it's called. Stephen Hawking discovered that black holes emit tiny amounts of radiation due to quantum effects, and this is called Hawking Radiation. Over time it "steals" energy from the black hole, and it gets smaller and smaller as a result. Eventually it will release the rest of its mass as a powerful but brief blast of energy. Problem is... we still have no idea what fell in... and that's the Black Hole Information Paradox, and it has huge implications for causality. If you don't know the information about what went in... well... ANYTHING could have happened. And that causes causality to fall apart.

I've seen it, it's quite good, although his books are much better. Read his books. A Briefer History in Time is a real good one, also, The Universe in a Nutshell.

If you are interested in the subject of the Big Bang I highly recommend reading stuff by Stephen Hawking. Unlike the writings of Neil deGrasse Tyson, which are oriented more towards just saying "space is awesome and this is why", Stephen dabbles more into the physics behind it while retaining the ability to speak to a generalized audience.

The "who created god" question is one that's asked a lot that nobody really has a good answer for. God isn't in the realm of science though - God is in the realm of philosophy, specifically religious philosophy, so trying to prove him one way or another is really for naught. I myself consider myself spiritual but not religious and don't have a god in the sense of a Christian one, but I'm not really atheist either.

Technically, I don't really believe in the traditional Big Bang theory either! Lol, but I believe in most of it. The difference is I don't believe it was always "very dense and suddenly expanded". I think that our universe is the result of a black hole from another universe meeting the end of its life. To me, it solves something called the "black hole information paradox" as well as the origin of our universe and why it technically has finite size. It also prevents the causation issues that you presented.

I'm looking forward to it to. It is a very thought-provoking post that requires a long answer, that frankly, I don't have much time for. I hopefully will have an answer during the weekend. I'm not making any promises. I'm a busy guy with things to do and places to go.

Genesis one is clear: He (God) created each thing separately, without all the dense molecules expanding over billions of years. God did it on 6 days.

I did find it interesting. God is the ultimate chemist, but he didn't use the Big Bang to create the world. He spoke, and it came to be.

Exactly. How would you know I don't have an open mind? You don't know.

I enjoy talking about the big bang theory as it is one of my obsessions. When I see someone who clearly doesn't understand it I willingly open up to the opportunity to explain it in better detail in hopes that at least they will understand the theory, it's strengths, and its weaknesses, as it will help people better form an opinion on whether or not it is a valid theory.

EDIT: Actually, if you're interested, you should totally read the conversation between me and him on my profile. There's a lot of interesting things that are discussed, although it is a bit one sided.

The dude caused trouble in another thread; while I don't mind someone who is overly religious in of itself this is to the point of utter stupidity. He's notorious for bringing up that big bang non-sequitur on every debate he has had any friction on. And he has YET to use it in a relevant discussion. And I'm not going to get into the mutilation of the theory itself he presents every time.

Mexico City was awesome! The security threats were overplayed - not once did I fear getting pickpocketed, let alone for my safety.

    Where are you moving to?
