    I don't have MSN, sorry.

As for your specs, I'd say they're pretty good. I still have to recommend the Asus (despite their color); I've had great experiences working with their boards, and my buddy (who builds computers for a living) says that, without a doubt, they make the best boards around in terms of quality (failure rate is also extremely low). I suppose if you really wanted to not go with Asus, Gigabyte would be a good second choice (as long as, like you said, you stay away from the budget boards).

I am very endeared to the Core 2 Duo series, personally; they're ridiculously low priced and the newer ones' performance is great. Now, i7 blows 'em out of the water, sure, but the price offset is, as you said, quite large. Personally, I wouldn't invest in a quad core yet unless you're going to go all-out and get an i7, since most games aren't yet optimized to use more than two cores; the only reason I'd consider getting one is to future-proof your machine, and like I said, you'd have to go with an i7.

Radeon HD 5770 is reasonable, but I'm personally endeared to Nvidia, and I know their line better; 260 if you want gaming but don't have money, 275 if you want significantly better gaming, and 285 if you've got money (295 is basically two 275s jammed together, and I can't imagine that doesn't result in some sort of latency increase along the same lines as SLI). However, these cards are significantly more expensive (except the 260), so if you want to stay with the Radeon, it's perfectly fine.

Everything else looks fine; I can understand not wanting to screw with RAID, so I won't push it on you.

That's cool. Here are my current recommendations for setting **** up (whether you want it or not). If you want to be able to play future games better, get an i7 quad. If you want modern and older games to run better, get a Core 2 Duo. Get a GeForce 260/Radeon HD 5750 or better. Go with 4GB RAM and 32-bit or more with 64-bit. Make sure to get a good case that won't start vibrating after a year or so. Stock cooling should be fine unless you overclock or something. Go with an Asus motherboard, no exceptions. Get two nice, big hard drives and set up RAID 0; consider making a good partitioning scheme with the OS and most of your programs on one partition, and portable programs and data/documents on another; possibly make a third for large files and a fourth small partition with just your temp folder assigned to it. Turn off access writes on all volumes, and potentially consider turning off file indexing if you don't need to use find much (you can still use it with indexing off, but it's slower). For your OS, 7 SP1 will probably be out by the time you finish building it, so definitely go with 7 (I can get you a copy if you need one and don't ask questions), unless you really don't plan to play many future games, in which case go with an nLited XP to squeeze those last few frames out.

Wouldn't it be your job as the owner of the site [pokenations] to make it more interesting?
I can try to come up with ideas on how to make it better, if you need me to...

    I've been fine...
I'm using the name "Stoney Kong" at PokeNations, so I found it kind of odd that you didn't remember me at first... anyways, I most likely will change back to Zero there, however...
How active have people been there recently?

The time it takes to learn Dvorak is absurd, and there is no proof that perceived benefits are anything more than statistical noise. If it was all I had, I'd force it into an EN-US layout and use it like a normal keyboard, even if some of the key bindings were off.

Ew, why? WHY would you do that? You can get a standard PS/2 keyboard for, what, $5?

Use Chrome and just don't open more than two tabs; that's really your best bet. Or use an older version of a browser and hope you don't get railed with viruses (you shouldn't have to worry unless you use the computer heavily, though).

Also, you might want to read through this and see if there are any suggestions in there that are useful. I usually disable file indexing and access timestamps at the very least, it speeds things up quite a bit. You also may want to see if there are any useless services taking up a lot of memory (if there are multiple copies of svchost.exe (Windows Service Host Process) running at a high memory usage, that's because you've got a lot of useless services running).

That's pretty cool. I'm waiting for a tool like nLite or vLite to surface for Win7, that'll really make it appealing to use on older computers.

yeah... as a matter of fact, my files came back without even using the tools you all suggested. =/
i was frustrated so I left my flash drive untouched for 2 and a half days. After, i downloaded one of the suggested tools and when I inserted my flash drive on my computer, the files came back. =/

although the files and folders will disappear again when there are two flash drives on a computer.

do ya think it's a flash drive problem or a computer problem?

Oh. Hahahahaha, I'm stupid. I obviously used the CD version, considering it's 680 MB and all.

Although, you could just install it, set up your connection and just get the programs you want anyhow.

Also - tried Gentoo linux before Suse, it's really nice but I was bummin' by how difficult it is to set up. In fact, I'd probably only get it if I were getting a new compy. But it's reeeaaaally nice XD

Australia doesn't have any of those stores. All normal retail stores in Australia carry MicroSD cards such as Target, Big W, Myer, Dick Smith Electronics (duh?) etc.

Your attitude isn't helping, I am not surprise you are from sydney, I am from Melbourne so be a bit more respectful with your words.
Yes, because Melbourne is clearly superior to Sydney and demands greater respect.

You made my day. Well, sort of.

Stilll on the way home from the shops, but the connection tour was great.

I met up with Eon-Rider there and we took on the various mini games that were part of the MotionPlus series. I've got to admit, the games were mostly great and intuitive, although the Virtua Tennis was really clumsy. Quite literally, the players occasionally trip over without warning. Maybe that was just me - Eon-Rider thrashed me. XD

I have to say the best games were the Fencing, which was a...

Okay, I want to start making blogs again, so Imma start with a Platinum Log, as it's holidays and nothing interesting is happening :D.

Beginning - Load from save in Canalave Gym

I entered the battle with Byron expecting it to be a tough battle, so I had my Magmortar sitting in the wings to roast his Steel Pokemon.

Well I went to a friend's the other morning, so I wasn't online yesterday.
Pretty awesome time, though. We (there were four of us) sat in a boat on their dam, for ages with coke and chips. We did a few other crazy things, like jumping of the roof into the pool and playing with fireworks.

Also watched a few movies: Tropic Thunder, Pineapple Express, Boogeyman 2 (lol, it's pathetic, considering it's supposed to be horror.)
Yeah, it was all good.

Uh, that was just to get your attention. If it did, post a comment saying so. :D

Um, it's raining, which is good - it keeps the weather cooler. (It was ~40% Yesterday.) Um, boring day at home. Yeah.

I might be going to a friend's place tomorrow, so that'll be interesting, although I won't be here. Hmmm. I might actually get a name change to my real name, if only it wasn't already taken by some noob with 3 posts and no activity since 2004.

Hmmm... I've achieved...
