You are absolutely correct, Xairmo: the chances that anything that I can say or do will change that situation are astronomically low. However, that is not to say that every case is so extreme, nor that all of them are so hopeless to fight against. There are less severe examples that could be changed. ...Besides, being so powerless is part of the problem.

...Not necessarily, no. True, how an individual's emotions are affected can be a choice made by that individual, but that is not the only result that can come from stereotypes. There are people in this world who will gladly allow that hatred to affect their choices, particularly those with power using it to take advantage of those without. Not only emotional stability, but even jobs and homes can be destroyed for reasons that are really out of the wounded party's control. So, saying that the power a stereotype has is dependent on the inflicted person is not exactly true. Of course, controlling one's own life and not submitting to the pressure is a step in the right direction, but it does not completely negate all of the effects.

Yeah, my parents decided they didn't want to put up with my [LOLPCWORDFILTERS] anymore, so they shipped me down to live with my grandparents in some town in Florida with nothing here, with the exception of a senior center a few blocks down the street, and a walmart about 3 miles away. Everything else takes at least 30 minutes by car to drive to. It sucks D:

There was some good that came out of it, though. Since Florida's public school system is such epic failure in comparison to Massachusetts (They're literally 2 years behind in schooling), I get to completely skip my Junior year, and graduate in June 8D
