I think it's a leek or something. They have served my sushi on it before too. Like I said, it's mostly a presentation thing. My sister's old boss from several years ago showed her how to do the exact same thing. Oh, my gosh, did I tell the place was originally a dumpy old Wendy's that got shutdown a few years ago. I'm shocked they didn't spend as much money renovating the exterior as they did the inside. I mean, it's been completely refurbished indoors, but they kept the same red-brick exterior and left some of the signs from the old Wendy's alone instead of removing them. Still it's a drastic change over into a REAL restaurant instead of the dumpy fast-food place it originally was.

I noticed that too. Well, no, I remember that the one in Rescue Team vaguely resembled North America (or perhaps just Greenland), while the one in Explorers looked crudely like Australia or some part of Asia. Whether that's true or not is up for debate, but I thought it was an interesting twist for Biohazard since it takes place in a version of the world(s) where people have actually died off (thanks, in part, due to Doxinox's creation).

Alright, you're familiar with furries then? That's good. There's a lot of crazy stuff in the fandom and just much (if not more) adult content. I don't mind mild stuff, but when it gets into true adult art, I couldn't care less. The big appeal for me is that it actually plays into some of my childhood loves like cartoons (in the form of regular toons, inflated toons, fat toons, transformating toons, and plushies based on toons). I want to say some of the stuff I'm into is a little disturbing, but I think it's really more just weird.

To be honest, there was a time where I didn't care about stuffed animals much, but then I slowly found myself getting back into them from college onward. It mostly started with me just collecting old beanie-baby Pokémon and regular Pokémon plushies. I've since reverted back to trying to college realistic animal plushies if I can get them cheap enough, as well as plushies that look EXACTLY like the characters their based on (i.e. Tigger from Winnie the Pooh). I haven't been collecting a lot of animal-character plushies lately, though, but I did get a plushie skunk that looks almost real at first glance. I actually used it to scare my sister and mom last week after I got it. I mean, you can tell it's a plushie, but when you first look at it, it looks like a small skunk.

That was my dinner last night. My sister took the pic since I don't have a smartphone.

Mmm, you remember Biohazard, right? The latest edition merges the PMD-Rescue Team and Explorers' "worlds" so that they actually take place on two different continents within the same world. Realistically, it is justifiable since the RT world has features of a northern continent (including deciduous/evergreen forests and a snowcapped regions in the northernmost part of said continent), and the Explorers' world has features of a southern continent (tropical rainforests, jungle, and a proverbial "south pole"). Granted, these are just my own ideas, but they make poetic sense for the sake of my story since Seraph and her initial team traveled out of their way northward to escape persecution (but apparently it wasn't far enough since the local "lawman" Saul Retford is immediately bent on executing her for crimes she's committedly both locally and abroad).

Plushies are great; though, I've admittedly collected more than I originally intended. It's not an all the time thing, but I will occasionally go online to find Pokémon plushies I can't get at stores here. I've even gotten some great Japanese ones off various import sites. One of my most prized ones, though, is easily a big Fennekin I got on Toys'R'Us.com late last year. She's my best little buddy and I keep her with me all the time at home. I even cuddle with her at night when I'm going to bed. Ick, I've gotten so attached to her and a few others that I literally can't sleep without them anymore; I'm worse than I was when I was a kid in that sense since I used to sleep with stuffed animals all the time then, but grew out of it for a time there, and now sleep with even more. (I hope I'm not making it sound like a weird obsession or something, because it's really not. I've just always had an attachment to childish things and I never really outgrew that...it's partially why I've delved a little into furry fandom too, if you know what that is. If not, don't look it because you may regret that.)

Ironically, my sister is starting to come to terms with why I like sushi, and she's even getting more daring each time we visit the restaurant. She's the one who offered to take me to it, since I otherwise don't get out much (I'm sort of a house-sitter on my days off). She started off by trying some of my sushi after I ordered it, and then moved on to getting vegetarian rolls on her own. Next she may be tempted to trying some that actually has raw fish in it (unlike the previous buffet we tried sushi it, this one actually has it listed on the menu what has raw fish in it and what doesn't, for which I'm glad because it makes deciding what to eat that much easier).

I actually did enjoy GtI, but it just doesn't have the addictive feel to it that the previous ones did. There are things I hate about it (the restriction on how many missions you can do is a serious buzz kill, and the fact that everyone in the guild gets experience rather than just the teammates accompanying you makes it really hard to control when they evolve). All-in-all, though, it was a really good game. I personally wish they'd have elaborated on how humans are fairy-tales in the Pokémon world, though, as that kind of contradicts the whole post-human worlds that were built up in the previous games. I mean, I know it's a kids' game, but that was actually a big deal in the other titles (wherein humans existed at one time, but either went extinct or just became rare in the Pokémon world).

Oh, you mentioned you've been kind of stressed lately too, right? Mmm, do you collect or have stuffed animals per chance? I've found that carrying one around with you most of the time is an excellent stress reliever. I keep one with me all the time, though admittedly it's normally just a small Eevee beanie baby I picked up at a thrift store a few years ago. It may seem childish, but it's actually very comforting and small ones are less conspicuous than bigger ones, so you can hide them in your backpack or jacket pocket if you're embarrassed about having them with at all.

I've fallen in love with some of the restaurants signature rolls, namely their Dragon, Ninja, and Godzilla Rolls. OMG, the shrimp tempura they use in the latter two is so tasty. Also, I have tried their regular eel and salmon sushi, which are simply divine. I like their California and avocado rolls too, both of which I actually had before but at a different buffet that only had a small selection of sushi. Another thing I've come to enjoy about the place is that they make up to look as artistically pleasing as possible. It reminds of how this chef who my sister mentored under used to do things when he still worked at the original restaurant she started at (he was actually a five-star chef who learned alongside others like Emeril Lagasse and Wolfgang Puck, so it was a point for him to make everything look as good as it tasted). I am actually surprised that this restaurant isn't more popular because their food is excellent (ooh, I had their hibachi before too and it was simply to die for).

As far as gaming goes, I've actually been waning from it a little, but only because I've been working almost full weeks again. Aside from Sky, I'm still playing PMD-GtI, which I'm actually on my second play-through of. Additionally, I started playing the Virtual Console version of Zelda: Link's Awakening, which isn't the most memorable Zelda but has its own comedic charms.

    Welcome back! :D

Yeah, well, you have to keep in mind that I have been doing this stuff since I was a teen. I wasn't the most "physically fit" teen either back then, but I'm so used to it that it doesn't even bother me anymore unless I'm stuck under a really heavy roll.

So, how have you been lately? In the month since you've been gone, I've beaten both of those Etrian Odyssey games and gotten back to PMD-Explorers of Sky. I hadn't been playing Pokémon X much lately.

Mmm, this may seem like a sudden topic, but do you happen to like sushi? A new Japanese restaurant opened up in my area just about a month ago, and I've been going nuts over their sushi. It's absolutely delicious, and I try something new every time I go (about every two weeks). It's like a new experience every time, and their selection's amazing! XD

Actually, I don't have nearly as many glue-downs as I used. It's mostly a summertime thing, when people want their porches or steps re-carpeted. Indoor glue-downs are usually reserved for rental properties. Otherwise, we generally do full installations with carpet, padding, and tack-strip. I can actually heft a full roll of pad on my own, and anything up to a 12' X 20' roll of carpet. I'm really strong irl, and it's not understatement to say that I throw around my own weight and then some! XD

In all seriousness, though, I basically drag my dad into the job whenever he's helping me bring in a roll of carpet. I scare the living crap out of customers because they don't expect me to suddenly heft a heavy roll of carpet on my own, much less drag around the guy who's helping me. I mean, irl, I'm fat and I don't look like I'd be able to lug around heavy objects the way I do, but I do it anyways with little to no effort.

Hehehe, that sounds about right. The adhesive we use for glue-down jobs is full of chemicals that give it an extremely pungent odor. However, you have no idea how bad it used to smell. The gasoline-like odor comes from all the chemicals they put into the glue; however, there was a time when carpet glue was ALL petroleum-based. It actually smelled worse up to the early 2000s, and you could easily got a type of high or buzz from it if you inhaled it too long. About that time, petroleum prices started to rise significantly, so they changed the formula to a water-based compound. It isn't nearly as pungent, but still sticks...well, sort of... Actually, the glue we use nowadays isn't really as sticky as it used to be. We have to wait a few minutes for it cure before we actually lay the carpet out onto it (it doesn't take long, but it's a little bit of a time waster because we have to push the carpet into the glue to make sure it stays). It's not as bad as putting down VCT tile, though. We could be waiting hours for the glue to set before we can even start laying them down, and it's always one at a time.

Heh, EO's difficulty is pretty intense. Well, it's not as bad as I originally thought it was, but I found that the game does tend to stay consistent, even as you keep progressing through it. I've even found that level grinding doesn't really help much because monsters are still tough at every stage of the game.

Fine, I guess. I was working a lot until last week. Things then seemed to drop off again.

Oh, I finally beat Etrian Odyssey Untold! I was shocked by how easy the final boss was compared to the rest of the game. It wasn't disappointing in the least, though, since the rest of the game was still hard.
