So, how did the presentation go, or how is it coming if you didn't do it yet?

Ok, that's fine. I'll catch you another time then.

Eh, I think it's mostly because I sweat a lot and they get sticky and rub on my knees a lot.

So, do you think you have time for either AC-New Leaf or Pokémon tonight? If not, that's fine.

Actually, construction knee pads are probably worse. They have rubberized straps, which tighten as you move as opposed to the Velcro ones bike pads have. Also, the cushions are generally a rubber-like foam on the inside, which is uncomfortable to kneel on.

Well, my dad and I have knee pads (the same type that roofers and concrete workers generally use), but they get extremely uncomfortable when you wear them for more than an hour (namely, the rubber straps that hold them in place seem to get tighter as we move around). Usually, we just use them on concrete floors because they're harsher. I typically layout the foam padding we put under carpet within a half hour of starting the job or whenever I finish nailing down tack strip (which holds the carpet in place after we stretch it). The pad alone reduces the feeling of bare wood/concrete on our knees, but the carpet itself helps even more when we lay it out after the pad is down.

Well, my job has some perks, but work has been slow in recent years (save for a steady stream during the latter half of last year). I actually use a lot of the advanced mathematics I learned in junior college (namely College Algebra and Calc. 101). I've reduced the amount of thinking time to a bare minimum for my dad since he picked up on it pretty quick (he used to come up with his own "math" for figuring square yardage, but I changed it to a rudimentary equation that I knew he'd understand). However, I wouldn't recommend flooring or any type of construction work to just anyone. It's still hard labor, and is particularly harsh on your knees since you have to crawl around a lot.

Yeah, it may have made a huge difference. At least you got into something you can make a career. I'm stuck in my family trade. But, I would rather be a carpet guy than a roofer or plumber.

I don't know about that. Physics, chemistry, and biology go hand-in-hand. Chemistry is derived from the physical reactions atoms and molecules to each other. Similarly, biology is just chemistry focused on organisms. The lines blur a lot if you think about them as three parts of the same whole (even more so if you consider that modern sciences are all derived from the pseudo-science of Alchemy, which treated all things as derived from the same source: the planet).

Yeah, I would figure that it's not like the case of a mad scientist messing around with various chemicals and creating all kinds of freaky concoctions. In fact, I always heard that it involves actually making things through chemistry, but even that may be a bad overgeneralization.

YIKES! I've seen videos like that on TV actually, where an older car rams into a newer one, and it's definitely intense.

Also, mmm... The term Engineer can mean a lot of things nowadays. It applies to people making the materials for things as well as those who actually build stuff.
