I made a thread about your birthday on Pkmn HOF forum. Hopefully your 18th birthday will be memorable.

Well actually other staff members are more worried about the fact that spriters are not being productive than I am. I still remember how Jonny's inactivity caused the entire team to stop working on what they were doing in June. People seem to care a lot about what others are doing instead of focusing on themselves, and it is a lot harder to persuade them to concentrate on their assignments if they dont see other people doing similar things. Bojjenclon actually left the team because he "couldnt see how others are being productive", and I overreacted at that moment because I was so mad at this excuse. Jonny is now back at almost full strength after receiving his new laptop, and hopefully he wont be distracted by the lack of activity from other staff members.

Umm the reason why I was mad at him was that he sent PMs to spriters secretly, and a few spriters reported his misbehaviors to me. Honestly I wouldnt be upset if spriters also work for other fangames, but I cant stand Pokemon Platinum doing it because I trust him as a friend and partner game developers. It is also nasty for him to send PMs to them since he is apparently afraid or ashamed to let me know. I have stated that I dont allow game developers to recruit members on my forum, and he just broke this rule in the worst way...

Besides, I've checked out your new sprites, which are pretty good I must say. I'd reply to them if you post your sprites or pixel art on another forum, I just dont make posts at PC's art gallery anymore as long as Fox remains as a mod.

I did stalk, yes, but I didn't really see anything offensive. I assumed he edited out whatever it was he said.

And yeah, that's exactly what I'm saying. As long as you're going through the effort of making all those awesome sprites and tiles and maps and whatever, it just makes sense to give it a proper story... otherwise it just doesn't feel right, almost like a wasted effort. But then again, I'm a sucker for words; I like a good story. RPGs are my bread and butter.

What? Monthly phases? Oh! Oh... ew...

And yeah, story is pretty much the only thing that I really see as being important for fangames. Gameplay and gimmicks can never really reach the level of professionalism as the retail games, so why bother playing simply for that? Sure, the fangame community has alot of creative ideas, but they're never pulled off like the Big N does them. And playing games just because they've got pretty sprites/tiles is silly because... well... you could just look at screenshots. A good story pulls you forward, gives you a reward to work for.

By the way, don't worry about scolding HoF; I didn't see what he said so there was no harm done. Besides, I'm sure I deserved it. D: I'm honored you came to my defense, though.

Oh, well I meant just spriters. Not much need for banners or anything. Spriting is hard. D:

I haven't touched any of the games just because I really, really hate demos (I'm weird like that) and that's all they ever are. I'm also very picky when it comes to things like dialogue; I hate to be judgmental, but 90% of the games are like they're written by twelve year olds. Alot of them focus too much on gameplay gimmicks and design prettiness, and too little on what the characters are saying. I know that sounds strange to be so picky when it comes to Pokemon dialogue, but the retail games are bad enough when it comes to this that I'd like to see something different every now and then. Why play the Pokemon fangames when the same experience can be had playing Platinum?

WTF is Lunar? And yeah, I noticed it was pretty close to your birthday. Merry Early Womb-Springing Day! You won't feel any different; I sure didn't. D:

I wouldn't feel too guilty about HoF; after all, if you did the work when you didn't feel like doing it, you'd just be doing a poorer job for it. I only work when I feel like it and that makes alot of people unhappy with me sometimes, but my work is always top notch.

ahm in ur conversationz, stalkin u and stuff. I have a habit of going through random conversations, even my own.

lol its okay, Lornami. I didnt mean to harass you in that message, I was trying to explain what my expectation is for head staff. As I have said before, I'd like you to be more engaged in organizing the team rather than making sprites itself. It is not really important if you are not making sprites unless the rest of spriters are being productive. It is me who should say sorry to you, I was kinda, well, what can I say... I said I should give you at least half a year to stay away from this project so you could concentrate on school and applications, but it is really hard for me to do so when even the other spriters are absent. I thought des would take over at this moment, but he hasnt been on for like two weeks. Even Suro has disappeared all of a sudden, which shocked me. I hoped you could help me a little bit with this mess. Sorry again if I am exerting extra stress on you, and I shouldnt.

Well if you talk about that, I did notice that the number of spriters on this community is not sufficient enough to support the huge number of hacks/fangames being made. Relationship between fangame developers get worse because of such type of "competition", which is a pretty bad thing I must say. I must admit that I have become a little bit psychotic after what Pokemon Platinum did to me. I mean, I trust him as a friend and a partner game developer, but he message ALL Pkmn HOF spriters asking them to join his fangaming team. Anyway, I think it is my mistake to jump on such a conclusion on T3h Kaiser without knowing the context, and I will apologize to him if necessary.

Sorry for my recent eccentric behaviors. I feel that I am overwhelmed, but I dont know where this feeling comes from.

How are you doing tonight, Lornami?(or are you still comfortable to be called Lornami on this board? lol)

I saw your convo with T3h Kaiser(sorry for being a stalker, lol). Well I dunno if you indeed consider the position Head spriter as a burden. Like I said before, I do not plan to add pressure to your already stressful life. If you want to ask why you were assigned, I'd say maturity and the talent in management is more important than spriting itself. I did not really plan to have you work on most of the sprites of this game when you were first assigned, and I actually do not ask you to do extra sprites unless the other spriters are not being productive. So sorry if you are scared of the amount of work, I did not mean to add burden to your life especially when you are in your senior year. Real life is always more important, and I hope you will get into your desired college. Not like me, who has been and will probably be living in regret forever...

Oh, I've tried doing graphics myself, and it just wasn't my kind of scene. I haven't touched Photoshop in six years, and I'm not a particularly artsy guy to begin with. I'm just better with words. D:

I like to be consistent, too, which is why whoever we kidnap recruit to sprite is going to have to do it in the D/P style. I refuse to use pre-existing stuff, nothing turns me off more than one of those stereotypically fail fangames with all the mismatched tiles and hilariously bad scratch Fakemon sprites. But yes, you are egotistical, you should feel terrible about yourself. : D

Speaking of spriting for other people, just noticed you got two bites a few VMs below mine. : P

Yeah, that was the original plan of action, but, uh... six months later and there's still no spriters. Something has to give eventually, and I'm in no rush.

Voted Head Spriter when you didn't even know you were in the running? Democracy at it's finest! But yeah, I can totally dig being lazy about a project that isn't yours. I can understand that sentament even better now that I've actually tried spriting for myself; I really don't know how you have the patience for it. D:

The Lt. Surge overworld is on Serebii, where they talk about in-game trades. Apparently Surge, Stephen Stone and Brock trade you stuff. I just thought it was hilarious that Surges' Pikachu's nickname was in English. American Gym Leader, rock on.

And yet there's not much recruitment to be had. There's no one left and it's killing me. D:

But what's this business about not wanting to commit? I thought you were in HoF's posse.

Also, did you notice Lt. Surge? His overworld sprite has the shades. Badass, IMO. He'll trade you a Pikachu, too, and his name is in English despite the fact that... nothing else in the game is.

Or I will be, I finally gave in my two weeks notice. It went to much better than planned, my manager was excited that I was going to pursue freelance illustration!

I'm so excited about it, and I'm excited about my art classes. I wish I got more sleep last night! I'm tired so I can't really focus on writing my lessons that I want to.

:D And I need to make a blog layout.

I signed up to paint little kid faces at a wildlife center tomorrow. I was like "Yeah sounds like a good idea!" in class. Then when I get home and get into weekend mode it's just like "Why did I sign up for that? Man I don't want to."

The trick is that if I want to cancel I would have to call them on the telephone and speak and stuff.
MY WEAKNESS.

I'm doing a lot better at saying No, and that's good for the social front. That might also be because it's 2AM now and I'm super tired.

But anyways, thursday nights we have Queers & Allies club and a lot of people go to IHOP afterwards (this is like 11pm). So I go with my friend and she asks if anyone needs a ride so you have three freshmen who want to go and they climb in the back seat. Horrah we get there, they sit somewhere else, and we eat.

So along the night...

Everyone should go and play on the server! It was a little boring when no one was on, and when more people got on it was a lot of fun! Just starting out, I can't give you the exact location....

but here!

If you can find it, you can have some! It's not really hidden. It's by the glass arena, and there's a stone path that connects mine and miakalina's house beside it....
