Well you did win a pixel art contest before, so no need to be modest.

I can understand that it takes several tries to make an excellent sprite/pixel art. Even a professional artist can't guarantee that his work is 100% perfect after the first draft is completed. It is a process of learning, and most of the artists do benefit from revision of their works. It is similar in the field of game development, as you may have seen from the new maps and old maps of Orange islands.

You are kinda right, we are not working hard enough. Almost all of my high school teachers used to say that I was guaranteed a spot in ivy league universities if I work harder, but I still relied more on my brain than hardwork, which kinda ruined my chance to enter an ivy league university. For college, well, it is indeed more than just academic stuff. We are supposed to learn how to use the knowledge into practice, and working/volunteering experience will be valuable too. I am studying applied science, which is more practical than social/nature science itself if I wish to find a good occupation in future. College is also place where you expect to build up connections with both faculty and other students, I know you will enjoy it.

Most people at your age are not mature enough to associate their college experience with their fate in future job market, as they are just enjoying what they currently have. It is not a bad thing for some of them, and it can be depressive if you overthink your future.

And yes, solar energy is gonna be useful and promising in future, even though I was planning to study the usage of gas/oil when I applied for the chem-engineering major. I think I am capable of taking care of my fan game even with the research project, but I will stop babysitting a few immature staff members. I will try to stay away from internet drama, and hopefully no one is causing problems after Moose and Spey are gone. I know I am going to have more stress from now on, but I still need a life on the internet. It is so big part of my life that I can hardly get rid of it.

I will congrats you when you have your name changed to Vişne Tanrıça. It is good to see that you had an enjoyable experience in a school run by the turkish. I know a few Turkish people in my college. Some look like Europeans, and some look like Muslim. So Cherry is your favorite fruit? I remember having cherries in Germany a few years ago, they were indeed tasty.

And you changed the design of your profile too!

Well it's perfectly fine. You are indeed leading a busy life this summer: Pixel art, summerhomework, a possible part time job and things related to college. I hope you have no problem handling all these stuff, and do not give yourself too much pressure.

For summer homework, well, I am not sure whether it is a good thing or not. I don't think it helped me a lot since I was in high school, but some might have benefited considerably from summer homework. I don't know what the educational system of Japan is, but my friends did tell me that Japanese study very hard at school. Almost all Asians do...

I hope I can get a good car too. It would be hard to do so with only $3000, but I will try to persuade my parents to raise it to $5000 if possible. My friend got a BMW for $8000, which kinda made me jealous.

Well you are right, no one can be perfect in the area of pixel art, so there is always room for improvement even if you are good enough. Guess the last pixel art contest is indeed an eye opener to you, and now you are practicing with limited colors. It was pretty much similar to what I did when I first saw CA and Jonny's maps, and now I am able to make huge maps. Hopefully your attempt with limited colors turns out to be a valuable experience.

I visited my chem-engineering professor today and got an instruction book of the research program. I will be researching in a specific area related to solar energy, and I will assist the work of the professor or graduate students occasionally. Guess I will be a lot busier next week.

lol sorry, I should have learned that you are still seeking for a job. Hopefully you will find one someday, and I will begin my work at the research program soon. I arrived at my college a few days later than the expected date, so hopefully the professor hasn't fired me yet. Believe or not, the advantage of being a college student is that you are never bothered by things like summer homework. It can be a disadvantage for some students though, like my cousin who has just become a freshman. The public transportation around my school is almost non-existant, so a car is a necessity for me.

It seems to me that you have been trying to improve your skills after the June Pixel Art contest was over. I like the way you are doing with your entry for the June pixel art contest, it looks a lot more creative and fascinating now. I am not an expert in giving constructive criticism, but I will try to offer my advices if you need me.

It's cute that everyone is actually using blog posts as more proper blogs, right now. I mean a few years ago we were posting nice stuff but you whippersnappers today do such a good job with formatting and the like.

So how's this forum been? What have you little starlights been up to?

I'm still using The Plaza theme. It was perfect and I'll never stop.

I signed up to paint little kid faces at a wildlife center tomorrow. I was like "Yeah sounds like a good idea!" in class. Then when I get home and get into weekend mode it's just like "Why did I sign up for that? Man I don't want to."

The trick is that if I want to cancel I would have to call them on the telephone and speak and stuff.
MY WEAKNESS.

I'm doing a lot better at saying No, and that's good for the social front. That might also be because it's 2AM now and I'm super tired.

But anyways, thursday nights we have Queers & Allies club and a lot of people go to IHOP afterwards (this is like 11pm). So I go with my friend and she asks if anyone needs a ride so you have three freshmen who want to go and they climb in the back seat. Horrah we get there, they sit somewhere else, and we eat.

So along the night...

Everyone should go and play on the server! It was a little boring when no one was on, and when more people got on it was a lot of fun! Just starting out, I can't give you the exact location....

but here!

If you can find it, you can have some! It's not really hidden. It's by the glass arena, and there's a stone path that connects mine and miakalina's house beside it....

Problem 82/114 for this week's homework

I know I'm lucky in the fact that I have to just take ONE math class in college that just rehashes all the math you learn in high school

BUT IT SUCKED IN HIGH SCHOOL AND STILL SUCKS NOW
Too much converting damn fractions.

My brain hurts, I ordered pizza so I think I'll just take a break for a moment....
