That is truly unfortunate. Maybe someone could open a new thread and hopefully it'll officially end? Do you have an entry?

    Aaaaw, bummer. xD I was like 'omigosh! Someone that I semi-recognize lives in Kansas with me!' Haha, but that's okay. Is Arkansas nice? You're lucky you moved out of Kansas, actually.. it's so dull here. >>;

I'm not sure if I've ever even spoken to you before.. but I got bored, and was searching for people who lived in Kansas. XD Your name came up, so I was suprised. Is that where you actually live? o-o

You think Dreamweaver is a professional site builder? Maybe you are right. I thought web designing softwares like frontpage and dreamweaver are for beginners and fans. Isn't a professional website supposed to be built completely from scratch through programming languages like Java? Perhaps I had a wrong concept, and you can help me correct it.

Wow, you were so lucky to receive a copy from your teacher. I'm sure you're not only talented, but also one of the best in your class(you told me your teacher sometimes asks you for help, didn't you). And sorry, I didn't read your last message very carefully so I misunderstood what you meant. Anyway, it's very impressive for a gal to know how all these programming stuff. But programming is not restricted to male, is it?

Well, working on a group project, especially a large one, is really hard. You have to tolerate your group members, and learn how to behave and express your ideas to them. I'm not very commanding in a team, and I'd like to become friends with my teammates rather than co-workers. And for the Lornami's sprite, well, it is an excellent sprite indeed, so no need to worry too much about the different appearance in the second one. I like both.

lol, I replied to your message again at midnight. You're living in Arkansas, so do you like the lifestyle there? What do you mean by "Ma apea erra narete raudl Mea"(right below your username)? lol, I must sound stupid. Are you comfortable with web-banner designing since you're such an outstanding graphic designer? Just curious. I have already replied in your sprite thread and I can ask more Pkmn HOF team members to look at your thread and leave feedbacks. You need more support, and I'm here to help you.

It's a bit late in Pennsylvania now. Have a good time!

Hi, Lornami! This is Hall of Famer. Guess you have read the last message I sent you. I'm very sorry for my inability to respond in time.

lol, I was a little bit confused with Java and Javascript as well. They are developed by two completely different groups. Java is an object oriented programming language, very powerful and practical. Javascript is a smaller language that doesn't "create applets or standalone applications". This is very similar to the difference between Ruby and RGSS, but both Java and Javascript can be used for web design. You may want to check this link out to see more information about Java and Javascript:

And yes, Ruby is an object-oriented programming language just like Java. I have learned a little bit about it and it's fairly easy to understand the basic functions of Ruby. Honestly, you don't need to know advanced ruby scripting in order to make a game, but you can make things a lot easier and more original if you know Ruby. There are several different versions of RPG Maker. Some are used in PS2 and PS, some are used in Windows. It's possible to make a 3D game in PS2 if you know how to use RPG Maker for PS2, but most of us don't know how to make 3-D graphics, lol.

Besides, it's comprehensible if you haven't done anything fancy with Dreamweaver. It is not a professional web designing software, just like Frontpage. You can design a much better website with a lot more features using Java I'm sure. And lol, being a gal is not a reason why you are not the type to learn coding. Anyway, you may just not quite interested in this kind of stuff and like I said before, you're way better as a pixel artist.

Well, there's something wrong with my biological clock indeed. I'm living in Pennsylvania, so perhaps not too far away from you. I sleep at around 4-5 am on weekdays and 6-7 am at weekend. I'm always more concentrated and excited at 1-2 am, weird isn't it? That's why I have to live in a single room, and I don't think a roommate can stand my schedule, lol.

Did I manage to cut this message shorter? lol, thank you very much for noticing me the new sprites you made. It really looks awesome, the only thing I don't understand is that Lornami looks quite mature in the first sprite but appear to be younger and cuter in the second one. Anyway, it's a good sprite indeed! Have a good time, and I'll talk to you next time.

I checked out your new sprites already. They look spectacular, and no wonder you're the winner of March pixel art contest!!!

Sorry I have been a little bit busy with the Pkmn HOF team recently. Lots of team members are complaining about a head staff called Moose, who is aggressive, cynical and rude towards almost everyone in my team. I've almost settled this issue so it's not a huge problem now. I will reply to your previous message at this midnight or tomorrow evening(I will try to make it shorter so you won't be annoyed, lol). Sorry again for my inability to respond in time...

lol so I somehow leave that message at exactly the right time. Anyway, it's good to know that you enjoyed it. I'm also glad to learn that your hands are okay. Anyway, you just new sprite and won the March sprite contest. I love the flower sprite, it looks awesome. And congrats to the winner of sprite contest, Lornami!

Well I can understand your reason for not accepting sprite request. It will be bad if you take requests but fail to complete it in time because of school. Besides, you're more interested in pixel art than sprites, aren't you? You don't have to feel guilty about avoiding PC and those sprites requesters. People should appreciate and support your sprites/pixel art no matter if you're making sprites for them. Otherwise, well, I don't think they deserve your sprites at all. But anyway, you are the one who decide whether to accept requests from those people, and it's nothing wrong to help them out.

You took Java classes? That's interesting. I don't know too much about Java and I only use VB and Ruby. I used to think Javascript is used only for web design, but I was completely wrong, the game development software "Sphere" is based on Javascript. You had a very interesting and well-organized concept for a pokemon game, too bad you weren't very skillful at that moment. I'm sure you could have started a pokemon game project using sphere with the knowledge you currently have.

Well, I don't make my game completely from scratch. I can't make custom graphics so I have to seek helps from my spriter and artists like Suzume and you(lol, I'm not asking for sprites now, so don't worry). Honestly, no one can make a absolutely scratched game as long as he/she is making a pokemon game using RMXP. I'd say a game made by C++(which is technically not a game development software like RMXP and Sphere) can be called a scratched game. And yes, you have to make sprites in specific siza and format in order to make them compatible in a fan game. This is probably a reason why lots of spriters do not wish to work for a fan game...

So you will use Dreamweaver to create a website? Sounds interesting. I kinda learned a little bit about web design with Dreamweaver when I was younger. I was able to create easy scripts and make a not too bad webpage, but no where close to your level. I really wish I could understand Javascript... BTW, Joomla is an open source content management software. It makes things easier for n00bs to create websites(so you apparently don't need it at all). You may find more information about Joomla in this link:

lol, guess I've just written another long and exhausting message. It's already 7:30 am and I badly need to go to bed now(My biological clock is ridiculous, isn't it? Fine, you will see people like I in college). Anyway, thanks for talking to me, and enjoy the weekend!

It's good to know that you're also interested in spriting as well. Sprite is a special form of art which can be used directly into hacks/fan games, and that's probably why spriters are so badly need in this community, lol.

Did you hurt your hands because of a broken chair? That's horrible, are you getting better now? I never injured my hands this way, but I did constantly hurt my finger while trying to open or close the door. One of my babysitter accidentally injured my thumb at one time and she was fired afterwards. I kinda feel sorry for her now. And no, it's nothing wrong for you to complain. We're emotional beings, and we do that.

lol, You just realized most of our conversation was about intellectual aspects. Well, I don't actually have a topic of preference. I have very broad interests, and I talk differently to different people, and it's quite natural to me since you seem to be more interested in intellectual topics than the other gals I talked before. Perhaps it's because you are going to apply for college soon? I have no idea, but it does make me feel better since you said "I really do enjoy these conversations.". So now at least I know I'm not being disturbing to you, lol.

Well, it's kinda hard to explain how to make a game in a VM. The basic idea is to use a scripting language like Java/Ruby to generate events(like movement, dialogues and battles) and join them together so it becomes a storyline. Programming is most important for a fan game, but a lot of game developers actually lack this skill because of Poccil's Pokemon Essentials, which makes things too easy so that they don't even need to learn programming in order to make a solid game. The difference between a hack and a fan game is that a hack is an edited version of a GBA or GB ROMS, while a fan game is made from scratch. Hope you understand what I mean...

So you have decided to become an interactive designer? Well, it may sounds too early to do so but you do seem to make a nice choice. For web design, well, it's completely okay for you to be purely an artist if you are just making a small and personal site. However, programming becomes significant once you decide to make it big and commercial, so guess you're right, web design is about the combination of artist and programmer. Nowadays, it has become a lot easier for n00bs like me to build up a semi-professional website with the help of softwares like Joomla(you know Joomla, don't you?). There's a trend that our lives are made more convenient with the emergence of those softwares, but we actually become less skillful in other aspects like programming. Honestly, would you bother to spend such a huge amount of time doing all these programming stuff if someone has already made a similar one for you? I dunno. But anyway, I love programming and it makes me feel better and smarter. And lol, I love computer too and my life is miserable without it.

BTW, you'll accept sprites request this summer? I thought you had completely decline the idea of accepting requests anymore. So am I among your top priority list if you do so? lol, just kidding. And I don't really recommand you to get a job if you don't wish to, you can be more efficient doing what you're more interested in. Anyway, it's you and your parents' decision so take care.

Sorry for writing such a long message. You feel bored, don't you? Maybe we can divide those contents into two or even three separate VMs next time, as long as you haven't lost interest in talking to a nerd like me, lol.

Did you just win the March Pixel Art contest? That's fabulous and congrats! I know you can do that.

Or I will be, I finally gave in my two weeks notice. It went to much better than planned, my manager was excited that I was going to pursue freelance illustration!

I'm so excited about it, and I'm excited about my art classes. I wish I got more sleep last night! I'm tired so I can't really focus on writing my lessons that I want to.

:D And I need to make a blog layout.

I signed up to paint little kid faces at a wildlife center tomorrow. I was like "Yeah sounds like a good idea!" in class. Then when I get home and get into weekend mode it's just like "Why did I sign up for that? Man I don't want to."

The trick is that if I want to cancel I would have to call them on the telephone and speak and stuff.

I'm doing a lot better at saying No, and that's good for the social front. That might also be because it's 2AM now and I'm super tired.

But anyways, thursday nights we have Queers & Allies club and a lot of people go to IHOP afterwards (this is like 11pm). So I go with my friend and she asks if anyone needs a ride so you have three freshmen who want to go and they climb in the back seat. Horrah we get there, they sit somewhere else, and we eat.

So along the night...

Everyone should go and play on the server! It was a little boring when no one was on, and when more people got on it was a lot of fun! Just starting out, I can't give you the exact location....

but here!

If you can find it, you can have some! It's not really hidden. It's by the glass arena, and there's a stone path that connects mine and miakalina's house beside it....
