How are you doing this week? Well for me, the long and exhausting exams/labs day is over so I can relax a little bit now...

lol guess I made another mistake. Anyway, most people are not going to let the public see how they look like through pixel art, are they? The Lornami sprite looks nice though, I like it.

Well I can see you're more interested in pixel art rather than sprites, and a lot of artists do. You should definitely try more if you are so eager to do so and more importantly, if it feels so natural or instinctive for you to draw pixel art . There are people who love to see either sprites or pixel art, so why not just do both when you are free?

BTW, what do you mean by "I'm planning to do alot of requests during the summer"?

lol I thought Ramie is based on you... Sorry for being n00bish, I began paying attention to Pixel Art forum just a month ago so I'm still not quite familiar with most artists and their previous work. My initial intention was, well, to find spriters and artists for my game Pkmn HOF. I didn't find as many spriters as I wished to, but I did end up becoming friends with some of them, like Suzume(do you know Suzume?). There are many people who sent you sprites request first but somehow became your friends, right?

Honestly, I do understand that most people can't make scratched work when they first get started. Recolor and fusion are what beginners do most, and then they become better and start to work on their real work. In fact, I do know that most of your trainer sprites are not from scratch, but a few of them like Ramie and Alt poses are just way too good. If you want support, well, it's the easiest thing I can do for you. I can also encourage my spriters and other team members to visit your thread and leave comments(some of them are better critics than I). Just inform me when you update your thread and I will more than likely to show up unless I'm too stuck with exams and projects.

Wow that Lornami sprite looks very nice! Better take that picture away from public asap otherwise you will have to spend time dealing with a bunch of 40 year old freaks(according to what Bubblewrap told me).

Just inform me whenever you update your pixel art thread. Art is more than just Sprite, and your art is special. Wow, your new pixel art is awesome! I like the unique design and the color. The water also looks better than what it is in your Crystal Chalice. Do you want me to leave comments in your thread or just respond to you through visitor message?

I'm sorry that I haven't replied to your previous post yet. I looked at the schools you mentioned and well, they are at least much easier to access than Ivy league universities. Most schools are not going to care too much about how you do in high school, as long as your scores in high school and SAT are decent. In fact, your art might play a more important role than your academic scores. Your chance to be enrolled or awarded with scholarship will be very considerable if they fall in love with your art. Also tell these colleges something unique about yourself. It would be very helpful if you can convince them that the teacher ask you for help in one of your courses.

BTW, what's the deal with the Ramie sprite? It looks better than most scratched overworld sprite in this forum. Is it a sprite you made for a friend?

I checked out your sprite thread already. It looks fairly nice, the water is a little bit weird but it doesn't matter too much. I'd rate it 9 out of 10.

You're really studying a lot about art. I'm nowhere close to the concept of artist so I must be jealous about you, lol. The teacher ask you for help when it comes to Web Design? That's fabulous and you must be the best student in your class, aren't you?

So you're going to apply for art/design schools? What colleges are you interested in more specifically? Are you going to try your luck on Ivy league? Well, I applied for 10+ schools, and was rejected by all the top 20 national universities I applied(Stanford, Upenn, Columbia, Chicago, Cornell and Northwestern). I almost committed suicide at that moment but I decided to stay alive and give another try(I'm preparing my transfer application now). Yes, college application is gonna be a bitter experience, unless you're sure you are guaranteed a spot in top schools. Are you going to take SAT/ACT? Well, it's gonna be long, exhausting but challenging. I actually enjoyed such a challenge. It made me a better person.

Well, sorry if I can't give you too many constructive suggestions in such a short visitor message. I wish you good luck with your college stuff and feel free asking me questions about college/university. I'm a college student now so I'm pretty much familiar with these kind of stuff.

I don't know what happened to Bubblewrap recently. She seems to be stuck with school work so I better contact her in summer.

Well you shouldn't be troubled by schoolwork in senior year. Instead, it's the college application that drains your time and energy away. It's not gonna be enjoyable but it will be a valuable experience for sure.

You're an art student? Sounds interesting. You study 2-D, AD, Webpage design? More specifically, what do you learn in these courses? I'm a science/engineering student and subject like Math, Physics and Chemistry never cause trouble on me at all. I will apply for my major next semester and I already have an idea.

BTW, it would be nice if you do inform me whenever a new sprite is made. Can't wait to see more sprites from you.

You know Bubblewrap? Well I haven't heard anything from her for a while. She used to tell me that she's still working on Lily's sprite. I'm not requesting it in a few days so she has plenty of time to deal with it.

So you're a high school junior now... Well, better enjoy the rest of days as a junior since the life of senior will not be anything enjoyable at all. College is a lot better than that and I'm sure you will like it someday.

BTW, I'm pretty much like a subscriber to your sprite thread. Would you inform me whenever you update your sprite thread with a new sprite? I'm here to check it out and support your work.

I see. It's really bad that those game developers don't realize that you have a life outside of internet. This doesn't happen to me though. I tend to recruit many spriters for my game so that each one of the spriters will not receive too much work. One of my spriter Bubblewrap made two sprites(Daisy and Violet) in three months and she's still working on the third one(Lily). But I do like to stay in contact with them even if they are not doing sprites.

BTW, are you a high school senior? Are you busy with school work now?

Okay I see. Sorry I shouldn't have requested anything, especially since this is the first time I talked to you. Just wanna tell you that your sprites are amazing and please be aware that there are gonna be other game developers asking you to work for them soon after they see your thread(so you'll have to spend time writing rejection messages to them).

BTW, thanks for the friend request. I will keep an eye on your sprite thread and post comment when necessary. Have a good weekend.

Hi Lornami I checked out your sprite thread and your art is fabulous! Please keep it up.

BTW, do you accept requests? It would be great if you can make a few sprites for my game and I'll give you credit for sure if you do that.

Or I will be, I finally gave in my two weeks notice. It went to much better than planned, my manager was excited that I was going to pursue freelance illustration!

I'm so excited about it, and I'm excited about my art classes. I wish I got more sleep last night! I'm tired so I can't really focus on writing my lessons that I want to.

:D And I need to make a blog layout.

I signed up to paint little kid faces at a wildlife center tomorrow. I was like "Yeah sounds like a good idea!" in class. Then when I get home and get into weekend mode it's just like "Why did I sign up for that? Man I don't want to."

The trick is that if I want to cancel I would have to call them on the telephone and speak and stuff.

I'm doing a lot better at saying No, and that's good for the social front. That might also be because it's 2AM now and I'm super tired.

But anyways, thursday nights we have Queers & Allies club and a lot of people go to IHOP afterwards (this is like 11pm). So I go with my friend and she asks if anyone needs a ride so you have three freshmen who want to go and they climb in the back seat. Horrah we get there, they sit somewhere else, and we eat.

So along the night...

Everyone should go and play on the server! It was a little boring when no one was on, and when more people got on it was a lot of fun! Just starting out, I can't give you the exact location....

but here!

If you can find it, you can have some! It's not really hidden. It's by the glass arena, and there's a stone path that connects mine and miakalina's house beside it....
