..Does everyone have to find out and say these sorts of things before me? I mean, sure, I've been missing out of PC for a while, but..

Nah, I guess I should say it again. You're honestly one of my favorite posters in ROM Hacking as of late.

    Thanks for being awesome.

lol, chaotic foliage. That's the most awesome description of a forest I've ever heard. XD

Mapping is time consuming. I'm glad I found out about the ctrl + right click & drag / "grosser block" thing. Doing grass patterns one tile at a time is sooo annoying. XD

I just watched the video, and I disagree with whoever says your maps are empty. When playing the game, I think the visible portions are interesting and not too cluttered. I wouldn't change a thing, at least in the starting town. Also, to be honest, I don't know what that Aberbecam girl is talking about half the time. XD

The only thing I might suggest is making house-trees bigger than regular trees. At least 3 x 3 tiles big.

If people don't like large images, then you could always just link to them. XD

I really don't like mapping. It's so hard to get things just right., and it's always either crowded or empty & boring.

I like your use of like 4 different kinds of trees. The same pine tree over and over does get a bit repetitive.

It looks like photobucket resized it. Would you mind reuploading it to, say, Tinypic, so I could get a closer look?

From an overall look, it isn't the most interesting map, but it seems like it would look fine in-game. I dunno, I might be able to see better on a larger image if there's something that should be added. XD

lol, like right after I responded to this someone PM'ed me and told me that they did it as well. I left it for like a week and got nothing, and then suddenly two people are willing to do it for me. XD

Anywhoo, the other one did manage to make the palettes work, so... I'm going to be using it, if you don't mind. I'll still give you special thanks in the thread, because you were so helpful ^__^; Sorry you kinda wasted your time, but.. I guess it's good practice? I don't know. XD

If you ever need help with anything, don't hesitate to ask :3

Thanks. :D No rush at all, btw. XD

I'm starting on my first serious hack. I might post the thread in the scrapbox later. It's going to require a bit of spriting, though, so I should probably start on making the tileset. And I kinda wanted to make a fancy thread layout before I posted it, too. XD

I'm a wanna-be ROM Hacker and fanfiction writer, whose greatest goal in life is to finish at least one of the projects she has started. I've not done too well on that so far... ^^' I have been in Pokemon fandom since the 90's, but didn't really start posting on forums dedicated to it until 2006; making me a very late bloomer compared to a lot of you ^^'

Recently, I've noticed a change in the ROM Hacking fan community. It started on the Nuzlocke forums and spread quickly to /vp/, and frankly, I'm surprised I haven't seen it spread here (it's only a matter of time, I suppose). An overwhelming attitude of negativity, and an overwhelming preference for "mods" - hacks that change difficulty/add new 'mon or make them all catchable/add in later-gen features like physical/special split without changing tiles, plot, characters, scripts, regions,...
