Hello machomuu! How's your day today?

Gintama's getting to the 300 episode point. Maybe they're pushing the serious arc to coincide with that lucky number of sorts and maybe they'll cover the comedy arcs once they're done adapting one of the currently ongoing serious arcs.

    I hope that's the case. :p

also, watch OPM if you aren't watching it. It is gold.

I was pretty damn happy about it too, to be frank. I never thought it'd come at the cost of letting those chapters stay unadapted. :/ Only after actually going through forum posts from people following the manga faithfully did I actually come to that realization. And, apparently, there are quite a few downright hilarious ones that will get shafted due to this and that breaks my heart. :(

As for the dubbing of the movie...yeeaaah, haven't seen it. Neither do I plan to. Because I just cannot imagine a series like Gintama what with its bazillion references in every damn episode working out well in the dub format. And I'm so used to Sugita's japanese voice that I can't even imagine any other voice as Gintoki's haha. :p Plus, you don't seem very enthusiastic about it either, so that's that too...

I just hope the sales pick up. Seriously, this show deserves a good amount of them - moreso than a lot of other shows that lack substance (call me judgmental, I don't care). The main reason they're doing this in the first place is for the sales to pick up I guess, so hopefully they will. And they'll pull off a mid-season Bleach parody or something. Like, something serious is going on and they just burst the fourth wall and announce that they can't handle the budget for doing 3 serious arcs back-to-back together and are hence gonna revert back to comedy for a while - adapting the remaining comedy arcs in the process - and then continue with the serious stuff.

That would, technically, work for Gintama since the series is full of meta jokes and it won't seem out-of-place at all but..well, it would absolutely **** up the serious arcs' tension. The upcoming arcs actually carry a solid amount of weight behind them - some things in the arc are literally irreversible even if it is happening in a show like Gintama. For them to forego that and push in comedy arcs in between would severely hamper the mood that the serious arcs would take so much pains to set up.

All in all, dilemma. No idea how they're gonna go with this. Best case - they adapt the serious arcs in anime and then adapt the unadapted comedy arcs as seperate OVAs later on or something. That'd be okay, tbh. Actually, scratch that, that's the only way I see things working out ideally. :(

    And I know, man, I know. I try but I usually fail. No idea why. ;____;

    I usually don't join conversations much, do I? :p

Oh, and did you hear about Gintama's Shogun arc being animated in December? It means that some of the unadapted comedy arcs will probably go unadapted. The fact that we're gonna get some really great serious arc action soon makes me happy but the fact that we'll miss some comedy gold arcs really hurts too. :( Heard Gintama's sales this season aren't exactly great and that's probably why they thought of getting people's attention back by getting to THAT arc as soon as possible.

Thanks for doing that. And sure, I'll keep that in mind for possible future events. Also you don't need to feel bad or partially responsible for it tanking though.....that's just sorta how half the events on PC go unfortunately.

Btw you can unstick the Smash Bros tourney thread. That's thing's gone on way longer than I wanted it to and despite my prodding some people still tend to take forever to do matches (and I'm not about to get anal with the prodding either). No real reason to keep it up there anymore when who knows if it'll ever finish.

She isn't really supposed to ever not have it on, unless the story dictates it, so it's good that you consider it a focal point. I showed the taken off version so you could see how the clothes below work.

About Me

  • About machomuu
You know, I had a list here of things that I like, but it just felt like I was filling space. Usually I don't even fill this area in, but what the heck. I like games, gaming is probably my favorite hobby...probably to an unhealthy level, but hey, it's good for the mind.

Anime and manga are a big thing for me, as well, partially because I don't watch television anymore. Nowadays, if I watch something, it's usually because I want to dedicate myself to it, so it's generally a matter of choosing what I want to watch, and anime really makes that easy. Problem is, if it's in Japanese, I have to give it 100% of my attention, and that's part of the reason that I'm trying to learn Japanese.

More than that, though, I've learned about Japan to the extent that I'm actually interested in it. This is mostly due to research projects and the like, as well as being the cause of some curious points I'd see in anime or general miscellany that needed clarification. The idea that there exists a place that exists both as a mish-mash of many different cultures while at the same time heavily influencing the mix with its own unique flare is pretty interesting, and seeing how that same place is both similar to and contrarily dissimilar to my homeland is just fascinating. It doesn't really have any bearing on my fight to learn Japanese, though; that's mostly for the sake of my hobbies.

Apart from that, I'm basically an average nerd. I have a desire to become a video game developer and am really interested in social sciences (Sociology, Philosophy, etc.) and the forces that influence them, such as Psychology. As strange as it may sound, learning how people work is just plain fascinating, and it may because I like analyzing the complex facets of the mundane so much that I take interest in it.

Then again, most of this is basically just things spilling out of my brain. If it sounds like I'm trying to sound smart, profound, things of that nature, or the opposite, be assured that I'm not trying at all. And, because of that, take everything you read here with a grain of salt, because it's all just spilling out of my brain with no filter or thought to what it says, and I don't really read this section enough to bother to edit most of its body. But it shouldn't really matter, if you get to know me or if you already do, you'll know how much of this is legit and vice versa.

...And I love Touhou Project. Inazuma Eleven and Osu!, too. All for different reasons, but I'd say how invested I am in the aforementioned is enough to be listed here.
