Hai, machomuu. I'm kinda bored, so I'm going around starting up conversations with everybody. How are you doing today?

Well, I've never hacked, but from what I know, RMXP is easier to use.
You just miss out on a few things such as some animations (title screen, attacks), contests, and obviously the ability to play on a GBA flashcart. However, you get a lot more freedom, and a few neat features impossible with hacks such as character shadows, a particle engine, and a few new minigames. Animations can be done (they just take ages), and with decent scripting knowledge, basically anything else can be reproduced.
Anyway, why I think game making is easier. You don't have to do sprite/tileset/OW indexing, inserting etc - you can just save the sprite in the appropriate folder. It's easy to edit Pokémon, moves etc by editing text files. Mapping and eventing (or what hackers usually call scripting) is much easier - you get 3 layers to map with, and you don't have to learn any scripting commands. The event editor is integrated into RMXP anyway, and includes important commands such as text, movement, switches/variables and conditionals, while others such as the shop or adding Pokémon are a single line of scripting (e.g. pbAddPokemon(PBSpecies:IKACHU,10) would add a level 10 Pikachu to your party).
As I've already said, I've never hacked, but I'd be surprised if it was easier...

Just keep in mind that RMXP (the only game maker with a complete Pokémon starter kit) costs $60. You do get a 30 day trial for free, though, which is enough time to decide whether you want to continue using it or not.

I'm sorry but description is everything in a role-play you must put description with dialogue.Reguardless if your a hacker/scripter or whatever I suggest you read about role-plays before actually attempting to join one.

    Your on yor

1st Warning.. 2 moreand your out..Sorry I have very little tolerance for bad quality righting. I don't mean to sound harsh at all..but Role-plays are like interactive fanfictions..not a script =x It requires good grammar and everything..

    Look you..you...YOU..

You need to improve your grammer skills by like ALOT. Your posts are like pure script not any type of description and frankly its making me mad =x...I don't mean to sound mean but could you at least not make everything dialogue? Dialogue gets so boring =.=..

About Me

  • About machomuu
You know, I had a list here of things that I like, but it just felt like I was filling space. Usually I don't even fill this area in, but what the heck. I like games, gaming is probably my favorite hobby...probably to an unhealthy level, but hey, it's good for the mind.

Anime and manga are a big thing for me, as well, partially because I don't watch television anymore. Nowadays, if I watch something, it's usually because I want to dedicate myself to it, so it's generally a matter of choosing what I want to watch, and anime really makes that easy. Problem is, if it's in Japanese, I have to give it 100% of my attention, and that's part of the reason that I'm trying to learn Japanese.

More than that, though, I've learned about Japan to the extent that I'm actually interested in it. This is mostly due to research projects and the like, as well as being the cause of some curious points I'd see in anime or general miscellany that needed clarification. The idea that there exists a place that exists both as a mish-mash of many different cultures while at the same time heavily influencing the mix with its own unique flare is pretty interesting, and seeing how that same place is both similar to and contrarily dissimilar to my homeland is just fascinating. It doesn't really have any bearing on my fight to learn Japanese, though; that's mostly for the sake of my hobbies.

Apart from that, I'm basically an average nerd. I have a desire to become a video game developer and am really interested in social sciences (Sociology, Philosophy, etc.) and the forces that influence them, such as Psychology. As strange as it may sound, learning how people work is just plain fascinating, and it may because I like analyzing the complex facets of the mundane so much that I take interest in it.

Then again, most of this is basically just things spilling out of my brain. If it sounds like I'm trying to sound smart, profound, things of that nature, or the opposite, be assured that I'm not trying at all. And, because of that, take everything you read here with a grain of salt, because it's all just spilling out of my brain with no filter or thought to what it says, and I don't really read this section enough to bother to edit most of its body. But it shouldn't really matter, if you get to know me or if you already do, you'll know how much of this is legit and vice versa.

...And I love Touhou Project. Inazuma Eleven and Osu!, too. All for different reasons, but I'd say how invested I am in the aforementioned is enough to be listed here.
