    Well in that case try waiting for someone else on wi-fi in the plaza and talk to them if you can but thats all I can think of since I barely use wifi P.S. I hate it when I cannot help.

    Because I cannot operate DSI wi-fi. OK, to test the connection, go to the trade center or to the bottom floor of a pokemon center. Try to go onto the wi-fi trade signal. If you are not walked out after a little while, your connection is strong enough to trade over wi-fi or battle or whatever you where gonna do on wi-fi.
