Basically i am changing my base rom for my hack from fire red to emerald because i like emerald features more.
The question is i heard people talking about how unstable or bad about emerald which in results minimize the number of hacks from emerald.
What do you personally think of the rom?

I added a new textbox thanks to it being more advanced.
I found that the textbox is 6 8x8 blocks high.
2 of these 8x8 blocks are the corner pieces and the other 4 are side pieces (2 are normal, 2 are reflected normal).
It would be useful if you could find make it so none of the blocks are reflected.
That way in your tutorial people can put in different hex values depending on what needs changing.

If you do look into the reflected side blocks could you let me know the hex values to stop the reflection.
This isn't crucial, I'd just like try it out for you.

It seems as though BG2 and BG3 simply ignore the 256 color bit. :/

Well, yes, but in stalking your VMs (and actually speaking to you as a regular person), I've learned you prefer when people can do a bit themselves. In terms of ASM, I literally can't do anything. So... Well, if you could just... Teach me from where to start, give me some basic tips, etc, set a foundation for me. And failing that, do stuff for me :D. One thing I'll definately need is the Town Map hack in Emerald, but maybe I'll be able to do it myself when I've learned a bit (providing you tell me how to do it, d'aww )
When can we start... I dunno not at the moment, anyway, I'm a bit busy with homework and such. But, to get started, I'll need to know, what do you know about playing music, etc? Can you play piano, or any other instrument, are you familiar with the notes and such? (if you are this seems like a silly question, but I have to ask :D).
Download FL Studio, anyway, to get started. It's the program I use to make them. You only need the Demo Version, which is free. Anything else is like $200, so.. Yeah :D Just search 'FL Studio 9 download', and you should find a link to the official site. Download it, and since it'll probably take a few days before I get to teach you anything, tinker around with it. I'll show you some music I make other than MIDIs, with FL Studio- it's an awesome program.

Hey, did you know that doing the opposite with FireRed (AKA checking the box when it wasn't) does it correctly?
As in, it changes the reading of the tiles from 4BPP to 8BPP. I'm even more confused now...

Yet again you amaze me at how fast you work.
If you make this into a tutorial or post it in the R&D section I'm sure it will help out a lot of hackers.
    Thanks again.

Teach me ASM and it's a deal :D
Or maybe just do like a routine or two for me in future. Or don't, I'll teach you anyway.
Like really, if you want, I will. It's easy as cheesecake once you get used to it (I'm gonna be using 'easy as cheesecake' from now on. Kthx.)
