Do you have the original Platinum rom?

Enjoying Light Platinum, working to fix any remaining tile and movement permission errors I come across as I go mapping the game (obviously while playing it, not just walking wherever I want LMAO). A bit surprised about the look of the desert. Why have grass if wild Pokémon appear in the sand? Why not just have desert everywhere? Also, wild Pokémon appear on the rock outcroppings; isn't this overkill given you just had to face Diamond before coming here, and have seven Trainers to vanquish? My Water Pokémon are now way above most of the remainder of my team (and will get higher with Ground types in the Gym) just from this travel.

On the other hand, I soon have to pick a Surfer or two (or five); I have yet to test whether you can get it before the Gym, but if you can, I will definitely be jumping on that after the Mines but before the Gym.
