The banner is made in GIMP using stock images found online (You can also use PhotoShop, it's more powerful but GIMP has a good number of features and it's free). The coding for the layout of the text and text effects is done using CSS coding. There's too many codes to describe in full here, but there is a
CSS help thread on PC that you can look through and ask for help if you can't find what you need (it is a pretty big thread).
