I've heard of it, and watched the first 12 or so episodes of it in anime club a couple years back.
Definitely, it's a great experience. But make sure you get a lot of anime goods while you're in Japan - they're really hard to come by elsewhere... -

I watched an online stream of Ouran a couple years ago. Pretty good show and I recently met Haruhi's English voice actor (Caitlin Glass) at an anime con earlier this year One Piece isn't my cup of tea... I don't care for many of the character designs...
Cool! It's definitely summer, unfortunately my cheapskate parents refuse to buy an air conditioner, so summer means our house is miserably hot... But hey, at least I can actually go outside these days xD -
I've heard of those but I don't think I've seen them.
And yeah, I've heard of Higurashi - IIRC isn't that a horror series? I know a couple girls were cosplaying as characters from the series at the last anime convention I went to
