Well, it was the system that was ultimately why I decided to drop out. I couldn't take it anymore, even though I could thrive in it. It always sucked my soul dry, and after each day of school, I just wanted to never go back. It's a system that has to be fixed through trial and error, but thanks to the system, everyone associates error with failure.

The right way would be to bend school around the individual, rather than bending the individual around school. Everyone wants these perfect, cookie cutter students, but when high school students's stress levels are rising higher at an alarming rate, and depression running rampant, is it really worth it?

And instead of building off of those mistakes, and making sure that they don't happen again in a constructive manner, students are given punishments and told that they're stupid. It's not the students that are worthless, it's the system. And this is coming from someone who did very well in school.

That, and school teaches that being wrong is one of the worst things you could possibly be. You have to be right the first time, all the time.

Yeah, I could write a few pages on how the school system us run, and have considered writing an essay just to organize my thoughts. It's just so horribly run. I mean, you're learning stuff that's going to help you for the rest of your life, should it really feel like complete torture?

Well, I got a week off of work so I could take a trip, so I do have time, but I'm visiting family all day, so not so much time. And homework packets, the bane of my vacations. Seriously, what's the point of them? Do you have the kind that's graded?

Oh, I haven't beaten it yet. Actually, I'm still working on the fourth gym badge, haha. I've been working on other stuff and the game has taken a back seat for a while.

About Me

  • About Aisu
    Biography
I'm a high-school student. (What, did you expect an age?) I'm from Toronto, Canada (Yes! Canadians!) but I live in the U.S. I'm a fairly serious person; somehow, even my jokes seem plaintive to me. But just as my name says, I'm cool as ice.

EDIT (Time I put something substantial)

Okay, well... I'm Aisu, obviously. I'm a high school student in Miami, FL, but I'm from Toronto. I'm an anime nerd; I watch anything Shounen, first of all, then I love Horror and Supernatural. I wouldn't call myself a gamer, but I do play a little, games that include Pokemon (of course), Halo, Battlefield, Grand Theft Auto, Tony Hawk etc. So, you know, drop a message if you want to talk anytime...
    Interests
I love writing. I plan on being an author someday. Besides that, I draw comics and pixel art, even though I haven't done the latter in a couple of years now. I'm also an intermediate pianist and beginner guitarist.

    "A few years ago,
the city council of Monza, Italy,
barred pet owners from keeping goldfish in curved bowls...
saying that it is cruel to keep a fish in a bowl
with curved sides because, gazing out,
the fish would have a distorted view of reality.
But how do we know we have the true,
    undistorted picture of reality?"
