    "At least 3IV ~> 1 - (31/32)^4 = 12% (roughly)"

Is there a way to state in-words what this means? I know the (31/32) is the chance of getting a 31 out of the 32 possibilities, and that 4 represents the number of attempts, but I don't know why 4 is the exponent, and why it's all subtracted from 1.

Ah, okay. Only a week? If I were you, I'd be sort of nervous right about now. xD;; Are you studying enough?

Aw, that sucks. :( How are you doing on your exams? I'm doing pretty good; have no classes this week at all, so I'm laying back and just relaxing, haha.

Woah, that first probability calculation of yours. 0_0 Sooo glad I asked for help, haha.
It took me ~110 encounters to come across my first female Reckless Starly encounter (which I accidentally ran from), so I wanted to know how unlucky I was. xD Combined with my using Cute Charm only to make 2/3rds of them female for breeding, (assuming 1/88 * 2/3 = 132), then I supposed I wasn't that unlucky.

    >.> I ended up just finding someone to trade with btw.

Fine, at least we don't have to do the list backwards, then.

Do you need any assistance with the egg moves? We have kinda finished your part fourfold and we might finish it faster this way.

I figured that because you're good at math and pokemon, you might be able to help me figure this out. I want to know how rare coming across a Reckless Starly is. They're "rare", which you mentioned before as being somewhere between 5-15% (let's just say 10%.) And then when the 5 Starly show up, I'd use Flash to easily check their ability. On average, how many hoardes would a person have to go through to find one?
