True... But you'll be hard-pressed to preserve some of the Pokemon's unique data, i.e. gender. I haven't found a way to manipulate (read or write) Poke gender, even with JPAN's hack; I don't think there
a way. Earned EXP could also be a problem.
(Of course, if I'm wrong and those data, too, can be preserved, then that's totally awesome and "pseudo-evolution" with scripting then becomes practical.)
