Not exactly, if you take a look at BW36, in one of Iris's flashbacks, she remembered a tournament she entered with Excadrill (when it was a Drilbur) and she got herself a 99 win streak with Drilbur evolving somewhat inbetween. She lost her 100th battle to Drayden.
