Also, the big disconnect with writing is that most people's brains are wired so that they find themselves wanting to be spoken to audibly even if they know that's not an option. It's a longing feeling that can cause frustration, if you will. A lot of people also just don't read 100% of body language, and some characters read a whole lot less than that.
