Yes, Alex. Even those that aren't evolved/pre-evolved from the originals, many of them draw similar concepts to the originals. This is especially true of Gen V.

Ohhh yes, there are far too many of these around haha. Bouffalaunt in my opinion being the most painfully obvious noticeable. It does seem like a lot of these should've just been evolutions/prevolutions of the older Pokemon haha.
