It's not that it isn't clear, it's just that he seems to know quite a lot more than is entirely believable. I'd imagine his knowledge is actually much shallower than he thinks it is; a lot of what he hears would've been repeated.
Anyway, it's nothing to be worried about. Just make sure he doesn't come across as too knowledgeable, and it'll be fine.
