Also, a working musical device would be extremely, extremely rare as it would have to not only run on something besides batteries (solar power comes to mind) but furthermore have not broken in approximately a century since society and therefore the technology industry fell apart.

I guess if the battery issue is dealt with (It's implausible for batteries to last anywhere near that long.) there's nothing saying it can't happen.
