That is a general assumption of Nintendo- they are family-oriented, so there's no "hardcore" aspect to it.

This time around, with the WiiU, they are definitely hitting the nail on the head when they're trying to appeal to all gamers. There's NSMBU for the average family game, and there's (I think) Assassin's Creed and ZombiU for those "hardcore" games. IIRC, I think it was MW3 that's also coming to it, so the console has a lot more to offer straight away.

Hopefully the trend will continue, and the "hardcore" gamers will embrace the WiiU.
