This game is being made using RPG Maker XP, and utilizes the Pokémon Essentials Starter Kit.
Greetings fellow members of PokéCommunity! An interesting brainstorm a couple days ago inspired this idea I am about to propose to you all.
What if I made a simple RMXP game that was of course in the style of a Pokémon game, but better. What if I told you that this would work very closely like a Battle Frontier facility. What if I told you... that
you yourself can be in it!
You may, at this point, be wondering what I'm rambling on about. Well, all you would have to do is fill out a form with your forum info. Next, I'd take said info and implement it into a game. Lastly, it wouldn't take me very long since this won't be a "full" game, so to speak. All you do in it is challenge other forum members' trainer data.
Here is how it would work:
1. You'd fill out the form.
2. I make a facility in the game, stranded on an island.
3. I implement your info into the game, making trainer data. Think of it like ghost data.
4. You would start the game, and be placed on said island where you can challenge others.

, you are certainly wondering what would define you, the trainer, and his/her Pokémon. Simple. I will come up with a list of predetermined LV 50 Pokémon (no legendaries) that the player can choose when they are first starting the game. When they have chosen their six Pokémon, they are stuck with them. Afterwards, they may use the Pokémon to battle "ghost data" of other forum members.
Due to the nature of this game, and how unorthodox it really is, I'll give a brief description of what happens in the game.
You are an average Pokémon Trainer. You don't have any special talent or skills. However, one night, you dream of an odd room in which you cannot escape. There is but a single machine. Upon approaching it, it asks for your Trainer Card. Steadily swiping it through the scanner, it makes a very loud clanking noise. Then some motors start whirring, and the machine asks for you to choose six Pokémon. What is going on? After choosing a team of six Pokémon, the machine ejects a needle that pricks your arm. Feeling drowsy, you slam into the cold, seemingly real floor.
Another day comes along, and you can see sunlight. You awake upon a small, quaint island. It's not very big, but it is populated. Walking around the coast of the island, trying to shake away sleep, you stumble across perfectly assembled boulders, blocking the path to the ferry house. There is a sign next to them.
"This path cannot be cleared. You are doomed to live here forever! Hahaha! - Musketeer"
Who is Musketeer? And why would someone write such a thing? It puts a feeling of dread in your heart. Confused and lost, you head for the highest building. A tower of sorts looms over the island. Gathering courage, you enter the tower. An old man is the only person on this floor. He beckons you to him.
For awhile, you sat down with this old man. He told you of the Tower Challenge, and the fact that there are other Trainers, just as lost as you, waiting to pulverize your team on the higher level. Then, he tells you that the winner of the Tower Challenge may get the answers to their questions. But only if you can defeat all of the other Trainers.
Pondering this thought for awhile, you decide it might be worth your time to determine what has happened, and just who exactly is Musketeer.
You set forth to the tower's elevator...

Allow me to clarify one thing: these graphics are subject to change. I can change them to more recent ones if enough people have a problem with it. For now, think of these graphics as placeholders.

FIRST OFF: NO POKéMON AFTER THE 4TH GENERATION, PLEASE!
There will be absolutely no wild Pokémon. Everything works somewhat similar to the Battle Factory. Also, there won't be much of a "completion" to it. It's a simple sandbox-style Pokémon game with arcade mechanics. Pick-up-and-play gameplay at your fingertips. Oh, and the more members, the more fun it will be. Some members may also choose to have me use their own custom trainer graphics, in place of the normal, default ones. And in the form, the Trainer Types part will define what your character will look like in the game, i.e. a Black Belt or Pyschic.
DO NOT CHOOSE ANY LEGENDARY POKéMON, OR I WILL STRICTLY IGNORE IT!
I can choose to decline forms by certain members, either because of bad history, seniority (yes, members who have made themselves known will be more likely to be chosen, whilst new members may find it hard, not impossible, to get on the game), or for any other reason I deem fitting. I will not have any sense of favoritism. My main judgement method for this is your seniority on the community, not your age, gender, etc.

Graphics you choose to provide will be entered in the game as is. I will insert it, but I cannot guarantee that it'll look natural. I don't have a preference, but if you can, FR/LG style ones will do. If not, anything else will work, but it may appear differently in the game. Remember, since this isn't a "full" game, I don't care what you choose. If I were doing something professional, then I'd be more pressured toward perfection.

I am currently this project's solo leader. If I need assistance, and you're willing to help, check this section.
Right now, if someone wants to, they may make me a new title screen (animated or not) for this game. I will literally accept anything, but it's gotta look good. The resolution is 512 x 384. Should you choose to submit one, I'll review it.
As of the first beta demo release, the following bugs have been made note of and are being worked on in preparation for the next release.
1. Island's edge tiles are chopped off in the game.
2. Some Trainer's graphics weren't resized properly. This is purely my fault.

This demo allows you to battle the first five Trainers that submitted an entry (excluding myself). Be warned: they are really powerful.
The Pokémon that you are allowed to choose in the beginning are/can be temporary. If anyone has a problem with them, let me know. If anyone wants a different slew of Pokémon, let me know. They don't have to be the permanent choices. This is Pokémon: Community Version. I want to know what you, the community, wants.
