Not every Bond film follows that formula exactly (I mean, look at Licence to Kill), and many of them are entertaining for various reasons. Sure, the franchise just turned 50 a week ago, but it's a fascinating subject of discussion with how the series has changed with the times. It's still a very relevant ordeal, and as was mentioned in another topic, Bond drinks Heineken now. If booze companies want product placement even if it ruins nostalgia, then there's obviously a lot of money involved.
Seriously, it's one of my favourite film series, because of the villains and plots and action... more so than the girls, really :-X
