No, it's the OT and ID Number that affects the likelihood of Pokemon making an egg.
An example is same species with the same OT/ID being more likely to produce an egg, while different species with the same OT/ID less likely to produce an egg.
Also, a Pokemon's egg groups affects the compatibility. More details on egg groups can be found
