We've got one, we've got two… and then we have game breaking changes. If they went back and changed the types, the balances could get pretty interesting. But then try explaining weaknesses to somebody. It could even result in a 1/8x or 8x damage multiplier, and an imbalance with those.
I think more abilities that give the "no effect" benefit of some types would be a more balanced solution.
