When I first got into the series, it was the anime and the cards that really got me excited, and it stayed that way for many years. Now, I really only play the games, but love how they are simple yet complex at the same time. I also think that communities like this one keep me coming back for more, as there are many other games I like playing, but they don't promote quite as much discussion as Pokemon seems to.
