...Somehow, the poetry section became very inactive. And I have decided to return to it by a random impulse. This is a thread in which I will post a compilation of a lot of poems. Be patient with me...I haven't written poetry in a while. Constructive Criticsm is greatly welcomed and appreciated, or even just a small post that says 'Hi, I was here and I read your poems.' Little things like that can keep me going.

The first poem:
Your Choice

Four legs, but I walk on two


Orange skin, a bright flare


Nestled on my soft tail





Moist skin, brown shell


Blood-red eyes, glinting


I am playful


Let me drench you





Pink pod resting upon my back


Green skin, darker splotches


A gentle nature


A dark secret





You will take me


We will battle


I might drown your enemies


I might burn them


I might poison your foes


It all depends


Your choice


It answers the final question:


Who am I?

I ran into a door, mom


This bruise on my forehead


Is my own doing





With one hand, he flung me into it


Into the wall, my head hits first


I cry, and he calls me pathetic





I tripped and scraped my knees, mom


The blood running down my leg


Is my own doing





All he does is trip me


I shoved him down and tried to run away


He grabbed my legs


Clawed at them


I cried for mercy, he calls me a wimp





I fell down the stairs


landed strange, mom


This cast on my arm


Is my own doing





I scream for him to get off of me


He bends my arm behind my back


We both hear the crack


I cry softer than before


He tells me to grow up





Mom, I promise I'll be more careful


I'll never be as clumsy again


I'm sure of it





The next day, I have brought it


He balls his hands into fists


I point it at him


His face pales


Power goes to me


I laugh at his pain


He is forced to be silent

(For all those wondering, in Shove, the protoganist brought a stick. With society today, I bet you guys thought he did something different. Let's get this straight: Poking a person with a stick is more effective than anything. Just thought you oughta know.)
