Well, I wouldn't call it much of an add-on but you can get Chikorita and Cyndaquil
soon after the point beta 3 ends as well.
The interesting thing here is that just like Totodile, both of them have some sort of quest behind them instead of just being standing in one position waiting for you to challenge them (which I did with Squirtle there).
