I'll edit this post when I get home from the store but for now I'm gonna
leave this article about privatizing education.
Edit: I return. Excellent.
Anyway, as that article points out, running some things like businesses does not work. Government is one of those things, as are schools and prisons. Privatization often shifts the focus from overall effectiveness to financial effectiveness. As good as it would look on paper, a school modeled by these guidelines would suffer greatly. Private schools are plentiful, but the financial aspect of shifting a public school from government-owned to privately owned puts a heavy burden on the public. All of a sudden the surrounding families need to
pay tuition to send their child to school while also paying the same amount of school taxes
while the overall quality of the schooling may actually DECREASE.
