Oh boy. I don't know what to make of this one. First I'll say that I would imagine that police forces are still trying to grapple around the Internet as media and technology. Any large organization tends to be conservative and hesitant to develop new ideas. I don't know how the RCMP does its investigations, but doing what Anonymous does might be against their code of conduct, if you will. They're vigilantes for a reason, and they succeeded in doing what they did because they don't have an image to protect. Think of the Batman movies. The police have to behave professionally, they can't just go in hard and fast. I think that it's just impractical for any police force to react the way Anonymous did.
