Random note: I am a beast. I didn't even realize the perfect transition until I remembered just now that Fitzgerald's wife was Zelda, for which LoZ was named. I win. /shot
I find it to be the perfect novel to depict the falseness of society, which is why I love it. It turns the American dream, social constructs, everything that has become a staple of American culture and shows the ugly sides to it all. And shows that the dream really is just that-- a dream. One that you can awaken from at any moment. That's the reason why I love it so much.
