UNDERGROUND

The Kanto Chronicles

Prior knowledge on The World Ends With You is not needed, though it is an advantage. Reading this link and looking through that wiki may help.
This is the OOC thread. You can post and view the missions in the IC thread.
The Underground is a chessboard for the Reaper's Game that mirrors Shibuya and tests Players to the limit. It's a dream to create anything you can imagine and an invisible world known only to those who have competed. It's a war ground between the two worlds and a second chance for those who have lost their lives. But is Shibuya the only place with an Underground?

The Pokémon World is also the host to the Reaper's Game, controlled by a Composer and his minions. The rules are one of the same with Shibuya with minor adjustments to suit the needs of the Players, though the main aim of the game is simple; survive the week and you might just get your life back.

There is one catch. To compete in the games, you give up the thing you hold most dear to you; your entry fee. If you get erased, you don't only lose your existence, your entry fee is erased too.

Seven days, seven missions. You can do it, right?
The Rules
Like most games, this one has rules that need to be followed. Breaking or rebelling could mean erasure; your instantaneous death which will result in you being wiped from existence. These rules will be imprinted into your brain before you start so you'll have no excuses.

Complete the mission; At the start of the day, you'll be given a set task to your mobile phone. It could range from getting from A to B to destroying the noise in an area within a certain amount of time. As the week goes on, the challenges get harder. Each mission is set by the week's Game Master. Once the mission is complete, the first team to finish it receive points. You don't have to do the mission; if one team completes it, everyone is off the hook. Be wary though. Only the first team gets the points. If nobody completes it before the time is up, everyone gets erased.

Survive the Noise; Threats of all kind will be thrown your way and part of the game requires you to eliminate all threats. The Reapers seek the strong from the weak and the hunter from the prey. Show them what you're made of and you won't be underestimated. Dying is not an option. Not again.

Simple, yeah? Just do what you're told and you'll be okay. Hopefully.
Who are you?
You are a teenager who has tragically died in some kind of incident, whether it was an accident, suicide, sickness or murder. Lucky for you though, the Composer has decided that you can try again. You've cashed in your entry fee and have been thrust into this parallel world, survival the only thing on your mind. You'll compete in the games for a week and if you win, you get to go back with your Entry Fee. No strings attached.

The ACTUAL Rules

  • Be active. This is probably almost the most important rule. You are required to post as much as you can, even when you have little information as well as posting regularly in the OOC to make it known you're still alive. Because this RP works with partners, you'll need to be active. You need to be active. If you cannot, then don't even bother joining. Nothing gets to me more than a roleplay with half assed members. If you have almost nothing to post about, then post anyway. A good roleplayer can post, no matter what. If you do happen to leave for an amount of time, please, dear god, let us know. If you're away for long enough without notice, me or your partner will take control of your character.
  • Godmodding and such is out of the question, unless you have permission of course.
  • No flaming or fights. You're all pre-adults, you can learn to get along. Even if that means completely hating on their character in the roleplay, I don't care. Just don't bring it to the OOC.
  • Be realistic. Don't have a character that is over powered and a clone but don't have some kind of ghost who doesn't do anything. People react. You're a person, how would you react?
  • Keep it at an M level. Read the roleplay rules if you don't know what that means.
  • I am Game Master, I am God! What I say goes. As game master, I won't be participating as a Player, but controlling the reapers and determining what pins you win and etc.
  • Have fun and stuff. You know, the reason why you do this?
Template
Name: (so, who are you?)
Age: (between 13 and 25)
Gender: (boy, girl, both, whatever!)
Entry Fee: (what you value the most. eg. your identity, a person, your appearance, etc. be creative!)
Appearance: (what you look like and what you wear)
Personality: (how you act and what you do)
History: (how you lived, how you died. Also state the reason of your Entry Fee)
Psyche: (pins or something else? If it's something else, please PM/VM me)
Short Interview: (to determine your starting pins. Please put this in spoiler tags)
For you, what was your death like? Was it justified? That's if you remember it, of course.

There's a fork in the road, splitting off in several directions; a forest, a swamp, a dirt track, a city and a clear route. Which do you take?

What do you have to go back to? What are you fighting for? Why do you want to live? Why are you even here?

Any last words before you start your week?
Roleplay Sample: (your latest and greatest work. Please put this in spoiler tags)

Name: Nel Hughes
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Entry Fee: Nel's memories of all the good times she had with her grandmother

Appearance: One might have to take a double take when looking at Nel. She is a bit short for her age, standing at exactly five feet and weighing around 100 pounds, and her chest is flat as a board. Anyone could easily mistake her for a 12-13-year-old! ...Stature aside, Nel's skin is a fair peach, something the sun could burn easily. Her body is in a slight hourglass shape, though she could be completely straight if her hips were just a bit smaller or her small stomach a bit bigger. As for facial features, Nel's eyes are an azure blue and elliptical, not to mention they may remind someone of a puppy's eyes. Her nose is small and barely noticeable (but it's there), and her face is clear of any blemishes. Finally, Nel's hair is a grassy green, and she likes to keep it short (it usually ends at her neck) and in a left side ponytail.

As for attire, Nel further takes on the appearance of a younger child by wearing clothes that match such. Her favorite top is a white jacket with a yellow collar and a shamrock and other small green and yellow circles above aforementioned shamrock near the bottom left. To accompany this jacket are dark red knee-length skirt shorts and dark red buckle shoes with ankle-high white socks. And as far as accessories though, Nel likes to put red hairbands on a clump of hair and a white ribbon on an even bigger clump to form her side ponytail. She is also rarely seen without some kind of plush Pokemon in her arms, typically a dog or cat-like Pokemon.

Personality: Your typical energetic girl, Nel's got energy for almost anything. Ask her to climb a mountain in a day and she'll do it. Ask her to get her chores done...she'll procrastinate. Nel isn't too big on work, and will often try to avoid such. Which usually doesn't work. Though, if you ask politely enough, she will help out. Nel isn't one to stand by and watch others suffer while she's living the "good life". Even if the task is something she can't handle, she'll still approach it believing that she can overcome that impossibility. She hardly ever succeeds, but she's never put down by her failures. Instead, Nel just gets back up and promises that she will try harder the next time around. And when it comes to family, Nel will do anything (except work, most the time). She would sacrifice her life for her parents if it came to that.

As for interests, Nel loves plush Pokemon. She collects them like the world's gonna end in tomorrow and has at least one of every non-legendary plush Pokemon native to Kanto and Johto in her room. And if one tries to bring up the subject, she will talk their ear off. She even treats them as if they were living, feeling that every tear is an "injury" and being ripped to shreds meant they were "maimed". Bribing Nel with a Pokemon plush is also a way to get Nel to do work, something she absolutely despises. She is capable of doing anything from housework to some "blue collar" work, she just doesn't enjoy doing it. She prefers sweets to working, and Nel isn't a fan of sweets either (she prefers anything spicy).

History: Nel lived a nice, quiet life in the outskirts of Saffron City. As one can expect, "nice" and "quiet" are opposites from what life is normally like. But the outskirts were nothing like the boisterous, hectic atmosphere the main area exerted, and so Nel was quite content with where she lived. She also loved her family very much, and they loved her back. Her mother was cool and worked as a hair stylist over in Celadon, while her dad was your typical white collar cubicle-inhabiting worker in one of Saffron's office buildings.

In addition to her parents, Nel got to see her grandmother a lot of times. Her grandmother was a kind woman who made Pokemon plushies. The first one she ever made went to Nel. It was a Bulbasaur, given to Nel on her seventh birthday. Since that day, Nel fell in love with Pokemon plushies and began to collect them. Her grandmother was a huge contributer to Nel's collection; most of Nel's plushies were made by her. And, so Nel thought, each and every one of them had more love in them than the ones Nel had gotten elsewhere.

One tragic day, Nel's grandmother fell ill and had to be hospitalized. It seemed like her plush-making days were over. However, though death was just around the corner, one more plush was made with the remaining energy Nel's grandmother had. It was her worst one yet, a Growlithe with button eyes and scruffy "fur". But it was made with more love than all the others. The day before she died, Nel's grandmother gave her the plushie. Nel named it "Millie" and vowed to treasure it always. Nel was fifteen then.

Since her grandmother's death Nel carried around Millie wherever she went. She also brought other Pokemon plushies (enough to make a team of six), but while she alternated them everyday Millie was never swapped out. And like some people who let the Pokemon they had a close bond with walk beside them, Nel held Millie in her arms, making sure never to drop her. The two were inseparable.

Five months before her eighteenth birthday, Nel was to travel to Unova by boat. She was very excited, as she was given a lot of cash to spend on stuff, especially plushies (she didn't really care about her own health so much). She boarded the ship, unaware of the tragedy that was about to happen.

A storm hit, and things were getting rather dangerous. The ship rocked back and forth like no tomorrow, and passengers were warned to stay inside. But Nel, who felt seasick while inside her cabin, went out to look at the sky. It was then that a huge wave hit and took her and Millie down with it. Unable to escape, Nel felt everything going dark.

There was only one casualty that night. The victim was Nel Hughes.

A character I used for another RP, but, didn't go on, sooo here; with a whole lot of edits! ^__^

Name:
Gloria Robertson
Age: 19
Gender: Girl
Entry Fee: Her father.

Appearance:
Gloria is about 5'3''; considered to be a pretty short person. She's a person that likes to wear a variety of outfits; to her eccentric style; in which as a result, she's basically dressed as a rock star. Mostly, she likes to wear a blue t-shirt with a red-star, outlined by yellow lining. Also, while this is not an occasional wear, on a cold day, sometimes over neath her T-shirt, she wears a short, black vest that does at least cover her upper abdomen, that's completely covered in silver glitter, to add the effect that it sparkles in sunlight. On the back of the vest, is a white skull, that was stylized and painted on it. She also wears a skirt, which is also completely pink. On her left hand, she wears a black glove hand warmer, which the fingers of the glove have been cut off, so that her fingers would stick out.

Her hair is blond, that is also very long; it goes to about Gloria's lower back. Gloria usually ties it so that it would puff up, (kind of like Hilda from Pokemon White's hair style) in which even so, the hair is so long that it also drops down to her mid-back. Her big hair is all supported by a pink bow that holds it all together, so that it wouldn't drop down all the way back to her lower back.
On her right eye, she has a pink star painted on, like what a generic rock-star would have on some occasions, which the star acted like her eye-liner. She also wears black long boots with light blue laces that is long enough to be just below her knee when she wears them.

Personality: First of all, Gloria is a girl that you might call a tomboy. Not following the "strict rules of femininity" as she calls it, she would only act, and be like herself. More ever, she's not a person that simply "goes with the flow", she would act, and coordinate the way she sees fit; spicing things up her own way, depending on the situation. Also, she's a girl with a lot of attitude, with an eccentric ego to boost. Her ego, is an attitude that derives her to be the top of everyone, but only in terms of talent, but entertainment.

Gloria also loves music; and with her love of music, she likes to reveal herself as someone with a "diva" persona. Due to this diva persona, she likes the concept of "trash talking" to others; but not just others, mainly, those on who she considered to be a rival. This trash talking however, is very comical when she combines it along with her energetic speeches and conversations with people. Speaking of her hyper energetic attitude, sometimes she would yell her dreams, or hop and jump around a room or a wide open space, trying to energize and psyche herself before completing a task, or just performing music.

History: Gloria had a eccentric life growing up in Vermillion City. Of course, she was born in Vermillion City, in which she had a Mom and Dad, but one day, her mother divorced her father, due to implications of child support, which in term, left her alone with her father to take care of her. When she was five, she was naturally depressed all the time because she never even knew her mother. Her father always knew this as well, which then one day, he had an idea. One day, her father bought a bass guitar, and he played a song for Gloria for an hour. Gloria loved that playing so much, that she developed a passion and likeness for music.

Two years later when she turned seven years old, she was finally
inspired enough to make her own themes and music. Her first song, was about her mother. Her only audience however, was her father. Fortunately, her father was devoted enough, to listen to her song that one day when she decided to perform it, in which the only thing he said, that day when her song was over, was: "Gloria, no one can top you in entertainment."

Of course, with that said, Gloria developed a swelled head; when she turned 9, she began having an ego throughout elementary school, where she always challenged herself to be the top of the class; whether it be writing, reading quicker, or even cleaning up the fastest in "clean up time". You could argue however, that the sudden confidence boost was inspired to her, from her father, who helped he during those depressing times on when her mother left the family.

Carrying on her ego and her love of music, she turned 19, where she, along with a couple of friends of hers, made up an all girl rock band known as "Gozzy". The name, of course was chosen by random. The purpose of this band, was to enlighten the seemingly "boring" world, with the delight of music, and the performance of especially Gloria, still hot headed as ever. One day, during one of their practice sessions, her father interrupted them. For what purpose? Her father was proud of the way she became independent, and was proud on how she have grown despite her mother leaving the two of them. As such, her father gave her a gift: the first instrument that Gloria heard that sparked her love of music: the base guitar her father first played her. Her eyes sparking and filled with emotions, she swore that she would always cherish this guitar, in memory of her father, her mother....and music.

One month later, however, it was the month of her demise. One day, after practice was over, she crossed the street in order to go to the records store, to purchase old albums of her favorite artists. However, what she didn't know, was that a car, was speeding her way, as she was walking on the road. The car honked on the horn, which attracted Gloria's attention. Before she knew it, she saw the speeding car. However, before Gloria could react...the speeding car hit her upper abdomen. The car did not stop speeding however; it was almost like it was a hit-and run affair. It knocked Gloria back some feet, with the base guitar she got from her father, fortunately, not badly dented. Gloria however, was not so lucky. She had been hit so hard, and gotten so badly injured that she could only stay awake for about seven seconds. During her struggle while she was awake, she reached...reached for that base guitar...but then... everything went black. Her body was unresponsive, and she herself, was fading away.

The quality of these are both amazing, but I think you can both do one better with the Entry Fees.

For Nel, Millie seems to be symbolic to the loving memory of her Grandmother, yes? So, I think that maybe instead of the plushie as an entry fee, maybe it could be Millie, but within Millie holds the good memories of Nel and her Grandmother. So, when she's in the UG, she knows she had good memories of her grandmother, but all she can remember are the negative ones. You know? Can you think of something else?

And for Gloria, same thing. Instead of the Bass (lol base) Guitar, it could be symbolic. Perhaps her ego, her confidence, her independence (so erasure would mean that all of her achievements would be forgotten? She wants to be remembered in the world?) or her ability to hear music maybe?

It's gotta be something that you would die for, really. What you hold dearest!

Well, I edited it, and put in her ability to hear music then -- which includes tunes, rhymes, beats, instruments, and so on. If that's okay.
And yeah, also edited the whole bass > base affair. /I was tired; stayed up past midnight to write it. ^^;

Gloria Robertson is accepted!
She will receive four pins and a special item on arrival;

bas_guitar.png
'Base' Guitar - Gloria's father's old bass guitar. You can tell this guitar is well loved when it sings.
player%20pin.png
000 The Player Pin - Proof that you are a player in the Reaper's Game. Pressing it lets you hear the thought fragments of those around you in the RG.
021.png
021 Spearow - The Tiny Bird Monster. Using this pin raises your strength and determination in a pinch.
113.png
113 Chansey - The Egg Monster. Using this pin heals half of yours and your partner's health. Can only be used once per battle.
293.png
293 Whismur - The Whisper Monster. Using this pin turns your melodies into attacks.

... though for Gloria, the Whismur pin only seems to work for her bass guitar. How odd!

(i'll make more pins later <: ) well i'm too lazy to make them all from scratch, so there d:

I think you may have a little? d:

As in... okay, uh, i think the plushie itself is a little... it's not much to lose you know? It's a material object? Like, if you took Beat for example. When he had to give his entry fee in Week 3, he didn't just give a pin, he gave his whole sister?

So, an entry fee should be something that's irreplaceable. Something more close to home. I know the plushie means a lot to her, but it's more than the plushie that means something to her. It's her grandmother too. But her grandmother is already dead, so it would be the closes thing to her grandmother - the memories of her grandmother. But, if you had just that, then she doesn't even know she has an entry fee since you can't remember something you've forgotten.

Do you know what I'm saying? d:

IN OTHER NEWS; making pins is hard. I'm having so much trouble with Spearow ):

Oh my, definitely NOT 7 days our time haha. I don't think that would work at all. I have 1 week planned, but I do have stuff written down for at least 3 weeks in game.
