As the title suggests, where do the video games you purchase (or download) come from? Not necessarily where you actually bought the game, but, is there a specific company, or specific genre that your video games tend to come from?

Different Gamers have different tastes in the styles and playstyles of video games they prefer. For example... You might say, your video games are mostly M for Mature games that come from microsoft (or Xbox 360 games), because you're mostly into First Person Shooter games like... Call of Duty Modern Warfare. Or whatever in that sort. So, again, where do your video games come from?

My games come from all different companies.

My PC games are mostly on Steam, and they're mostly first person shooters, with some exceptions (The GTA series, for example) But besides that, all shooters.

My PS2 games are a mix of games from my childhood and some other games I got dirt cheap.

My PSP games are all RPGs. Go figure. xD

I have all different sorts from hack and slash to RPG to shooter. I don't really have a set type of game as I will play any really.

I more commonly download games now though. Just easier.

My games on Steam were either gifted to me (Castle Crashers, Costume Quest, Psychonauts, and Stacking) or were for sale (Borderlands 2 for $9.99). I didn't really choose the genre.

My games on PS3 are a mixture of series I'm interested in (Sonic, Final Fantasy XIII, Uncharted, LittleBigPlanet, Borderlands) and games my brother likes (GTA, Assassins Creed, Need for Speed, Call of Duty, etc). The genres range from adventure to RPG to driving to shooting. I'm not very good at the last two categories. :( I like games with multiplayer or easy mode. I'm a huge fan of anything Sega (bought Renegade Ops) or Naughty Dog (considering getting The Last of Us).

-looks around-

-sees a lot of Pokemon games-

Well. I think that answers that. If it's not Pokemon, it's likely either another RPG, another Nintendo game, or the rare FPS. All two of them.

It's pretty easy to see what a majority of my video game collection is- either Pokemon games for the Nintendo handhelds, or EA Sports games on the PS3. I think at one point I worked it out to 50-75% of my PS3 games fell under the latter category. Then again, I was fortunate enough to get most of these games for free thanks to doing work through EA themselves, but even then, I don't think my ratio of sports games to others would be all that different- just smaller.

Anything beyond those games is generally a pretty good mix of genres, companies, etc. Granted, I don't play any of these games quite as often, but I'm sure if there's any genre you can think of, I've probably got at least one game that fits the bill.

The vast majority of games that I actually play are RPGs from Nintendo hand helds. Other than that, my console games tend to be rhythm games and my PC games are whatever good or decent games I can get for free.

Aside from Pokemon.....

not sure what category it fits under? fun & games maybe? - I play once in a while Hoyle Board Games, Hoyle Card Games, and Hoyle Casino Games

and I know the other game I do play once in a while (maybe once every two weeks) is simulation, Sim City 4.

...... from those I mentioned, I don't play any other kind of games - I have been loosing interest in most other games.

Most of my games are Activision (I usually play Call of Duty) and EA (Battlefield, Need for Speed, etc), I have much fewer games than I used to now, sadly..

A bunch of my games are shooters, as I have games in both the CoD and BF series, and then racing and platforming...I have a bunch of games that I play on my Genesis emulator on my computer, so I guess you count those too..(99% Sonic.)

Depends on the console I have, obviously. I have a good few, but current generation are PS3, Vita and DSi XL. I don't really turn my nose up at a certain developer or game type, unless it is just horrid like a My Little Pony game or something stupid like that.

I try to enjoy as many games as possible and I do try to give them a go if I am unsure on them, but some I just can't get into. While I do enjoy RPGs mainly, I do play a lot of different genres.
