Favorite Pokémon Tournament - Bug (November 17-24)

Accelgor, hands down. I was never able to use one during the main game due to its funky evolution method, but I really like the stat distribution, the design, and of course, the shiny.

Bug is again another type I don't have a lot of faves for, but still a fair share of votes:

Caterpie line - Mainly because of Butterfree, it's one of my faves of the original 151 and it has some good early-game usage for its use of Sleep Powder, Stun Spore and Poison Powder to inflict status.

Yanma line - Yanma and Yanmega are among my fave Bug-types ever. I loved the designs of these two, and Yanmega is one heck of a speedy hard-hitter. I loved Yanmega even more thanks to Jessie in the anime.

Sewaddle line - I know their typing gives them a lot of weaknesses, but I love how cute this evolution line is. Leavanny is actually not too bad of a Pokemon to use in-game thanks to its good Attack stat and access to moves like X-Scissor and Leaf Blade.

Joltik line - 5th Gen sure gave us some interesting Bug-types and this line is really good. The Bug/Electric mix is an odd one, but Galvantula can really pack a punch with Compound Eyes-boosted Thunders that are almost near 100% accurate. Joltik is also so adorable!

Larvesta line - Volcarona is again another strong Bug with an odd typing. It becomes an incredibly strong special sweeper once it gets Quiver Dance going. Plus it's very beautiful.

Scatterbug line - They may be the only new Bug-types in Kalos but I love Vivillon a lot. The geographical location concept for the form differences was really fun and definitely encourages more global trading if you want to collect all the different Vivillon forms. My fave of the bunch happens to be my native pattern, the River Pattern.

Anyways, I love bug type pokémon so choosing only some favorites from this many is difficult. I've got to go with Butterfree, Scizor, Heracross, Masquerain, Escavalier and Volcarona though.

Butterfree, the original butterfly and cute and great in the games <3 Scyther and Scizor are too badass to not be on my list. They fly and they have slashing attacks and they are bipedal - those are great things when I choose favorite pokémon ^^ Heracross is somewhat the same, but even cuter. Loved it in the anime! Masquerain I've realized is wonderful, never used it in the games but to RP with, it was lovely. It's super cute, also. I do like Leavanny, but Escavalier is a bit better somehow so I'm choosing to only pick a few of the awesome bugs of Unova. Escavalier is a knight, come on. It's cool :3 And lastly, Volcarona. It's pretty much too majestic to not have me as a fan.

Wish Vibrava could be listed here as well, it's really cool and bug-like but it's not a bug type. So nope.

WHERE IS DWEBBLE :( I voted for Yanmega and 'Other' (Dwebble!). Yanmega is awesome because she's such a fun Pokémon to use and is a great member on almost any competitive team, and Dwebble is simply adorable - what else is needed? These are both Pokémon that I've used countless times and I'm sure I will many times more ♥

I voted:

Venonat - It's a cute little furry fluffy purple bug and it would make a nice pillow. Venomoth is okay, too.

Forretress - I dunno, but it looks like a bug that needs a hug or something, all hidden away in its metal shell. I like it because it's a little odd shaped.

Masquerain - Just the most elegant bug there is in all of the Pokeverse.

In terms of looks, I love Butterfree and Beautifly. They're just so, y'know… beautiful. xD No, really; they're pretty. I like Vivillon as well, and am a big fan of all its forms. Meadow form would have to be my most favorite, as the colors compliment each other very nicely. Competitive-wise, Scizor and Forretress are two of the bests. Scizor—it's quite excellent offensively, and can take down almost any Pokémon with just a single Bullet Punch or Superpower. As for Forretress, it plays a better role on the defensive side. Its defenses are gargantuan, and can take in plenty of hits for you. Aside from these two, Volcarona is pretty good as well. After one boost with Quiver Dance, it could start wreaking havoc immediately.

The best thing about Bug type Pokémon is that they don't exiswt irl. I sure wouldn't want a Scolipede chasing after me x_x

My first vote went to Ariados because I've used it so many times in the games. I used one in my first time playing XD and that's one of my oldest memories of playing Pokémon games. I also used one not too long ago when I last played HeartGold.

I also voted for Shuckle. I've never used Shuckle but after watching the episode "A Better Pill to Swallow," I had to vote for it. That episode is the funniest episode of the anime that I have ever watched, even funnier than Wobbuffet. Everyone should check it out :P

Last but not least, I voted for Shedinja. This Pokémon is unique in so many ways, like its evolution method, type combination, amount of HP, and ability. The haunted exoskeleton concept is really cool and I like both Ghost and Bug type Pokémon.

Oh well, I voted only once and I voted for butterfree. I voted butterfree because that little guy is so cute, and imo is one of the better bug pokemon. QD butterfree can dominte in NU and become a pain with sleep powder.

If I knew I could've voted multiple times I probably would've voted for Volcarona. One of my fvorite from BW, Volcarona is a boss and I guess could be considered legendary. It's such cool pokemon. A bug that has the ability for cool fire attacks as well. Definitely one of my favorite pokemon of all time as well.

My least favorite pokemon of the list would have to be yanmega. I think he can be cheap in competitive battling because of his ability, and just don't like him overall. His aesthetics are pretty cool however.

My first vote went to Yanmega! I've always been an enormous fan of Yanma and when gen 4 introduced an evolution for it, I was so happy. Yanmega is both well designed and super fun to use. It's such a diverse and powerful Pokemon to use. I also voted for Heracross as it's just a badass powerful Pokemon to use.

Hera, hera, HERACROSS! Big and shiny, he's the bug boss! Love it, need it, HERACROSS!

I voted for so many and I'm glad to see others who think Beedrill>Butterfly.

Volcarona! :D

It has served me very well in competitive play, so naturally I just had to support it.

I knew it would be a close battle between Scizor, Heracross and Volcarona. I actually voted for all three of these. :D I'm not surprised no-one likes Wormadam, Mothim or Kricketune so far; pretty poor ideas in my opinion.

Butterfree and Vivillon! Just let me love my Butterflies ok. <3

I'm not the biggest fan of bug types, even mentioned them as my least favorite type, but I do like some. I voted for :

Sycther/Scizor: Both have really cool designs, Scizor's being my favorite. Mega Scizor is even cooler as well, I love the bigger and more sharper pincers it gets. Plus it's ability ,Technician, is very useful even in normal battles. It's gained Steel typing makes it's only weakness Fire making it more powerful than Scyther.

Heracross: Yet another powerful Bug type Pokemon. As most know during gen I, Psychic types. One of the few types that could defeat it was Bug, but most Bug Pokemon were too weak to take on Pokemon such as Alakazam. The only that could take it one was Scyther. Heracross was a lifesaver cause it has much more Attack than Scyther and moves like Megahorn which make it a powerhouse. Plus now with a Mega Evolution, it becomes even more powerful.

Kricketune:Cause it's cry is awesome. Enough said.

Volcarona: I didn't care for Volcarona much until I started using it more in White version after I beat the game. Then I realized how awesome it is. It's high Speed, Sp. Atk and Sp. Def give it some of the best stats and with moves like Quiver Dance , Solarbeam, and Fiery Dance, it can dominate a battle. Plus it's design is really gorgeous.

Scatterbug is just lovely. How could you just not like this thing! It's final evolution is a beauty; it's stats are better then previous Gen starter bugs, and it is simply gorgeous! >_<

Also, Larvesta was one of those really cool Bug Types. Seriously, a Fire/Bug-Type is amazing, also mentioning that it's evolution is the coolest looking thing ever. The only negative thing is that it evolves at such a high level... :<

I didn't realize I liked so many bugs. I decided to choose four for this poll, though.

Venonat/Venomoth - For some reason, I like them. They're among the first pokémon I raised from an egg with IVs in mind.

Shuckle - So fun! It performed amazingly in my first Black 2 Favorites challenge. Always great to see Iris's hydreigon do like 10 damage per hit.

Kricketot/DELELELEWOOOOOPKricketune - Such a memorable and fun cry! Now that I think about it, probably my most favorite cry of all. :D I like kricketot's as well.

Scatterbug/Spewpa/Vivillon - Mainly vivillon, for its different colors gimmick. I remember being pleasantly surprised and confused when mine was orange. I like all three for their pixel design too.

Hmmm, I noticed that the three that are ahead in the poll seem to be the most competitively viable...

Wasn't much of a Bug-type fan until Gen 5. That said, I vote for:
Galvantula, Leavanny and Volcarona without a doubt, and maybe Heracross as well.
These Bug-types can hold their own in battle fairly well, compared to the other Bugs.

Sadly, Bug-types have been further stomped on because it does half-effective damage to the new Fairy type in Gen 6, adding to its somewhat weak offense...(as well as the fact that there's only one new Bug-type family in XY)
