Okay...a little background:

A while back, I had a musical adventure fic called "Pokemon: A Siren's Voice". Although it was rather popular, I lost interest in it after eight finished episodes.

Now, I present to you the revamped version of that project...

The Adventures of Kochou and the Beautiflies

(upbeat music begins as we see the title)

Me and my friends are Beautiflies!

Kochou: Hey! My name is Kochou!

Exciting adventures, glamour and fame!

Kochou: Now a Beautifly, never the same!

Come on, take flight and fly away now!

Kochou: Hey! My name is Kochou! (Kochou poses with his bandmates, Misty, and Niji before the title, which is lit up like a neon sign)


Episode 1: Becoming a Beautifly


(We open on the scene of a theater, where a large crowd has gathered. The theater's marquee proclaims in big black letters "LIVE TONITE: Kochou and the Beautiflies"., Judging from the size of the crowd, it appears that this band as a very loyal following.

Suddenly, a red haired girl spots a limo approaching the theater.)

Girl: Look! They're here!

(The crowd hurries up to get a closer look at the limo as it slows to a stop at the curb.)

(Various girls cry "Haeru wingu, Beautifly!" in anticipation of the arrival of their favorite stars. Some wear red, others green, and various others blue and yellow. Still others wear green, black, and blue jackets. One thing is the same: they're all chanting "Haeru wingu, Beautifly!")

(Suddenly, the chanting of "Haeru wingu, Beautifly!" is hushed as the limo's door opens.)

Female voice: Haeru wingu, Akaichou yo! (We see a girl with short red hair emerge from the limo to the cheers of the crowd. Since we are looking at her from the side, all we can see of her clothing at the moment is a red shirt with silver buttons. As the girl steps onto the red carpet, we see the rest of her outfit: a white skirt with rubies dotting it. . The fans waring red start to chant "Akaichou! Akaichou!" as the girl waves to the crowd and pauses to sign a few autographs before being escorted inside by security)

(The fans wearing green begin to cheer as a pair of golden shoes with emeralds on the sides and the toes appears on the red carpet.)

Male voice: Haeru wingu, Midorichou yo! (the fans wearing green begin screaming as we see the shoes' owner: a tall and handsome black haired boy with tanned skin. The shoes aren't the only item the boy has on that has emeralds on them: the pants and the jacket complimenting the boy's silver shirt have plentiful counts of emeralds on them as well. Midorichou waves to his fans before he too is escorted inside by security.)

(The fans wearing blue cheer as a pair of aqua sandals studded with tiny sapphires emerge from the limo)

Female voice: Haeru wingu, Mizuirochou yo! (the fans in blue cheer as a second girl emerges from the limo, her aqua blue hair tied up neatly in a braid. Her gloved hands clasp a harmonica close to her heart. Mizuirochou's shirt starts out a royal blue at the top, then turns white at the bottom. An aqua skirt finishes the look. She waves to the crowd as she is escorted inside by security.)

(The fans wearing yellow cheer as a pair of pale yellow boots appear from the limo)

Female voice: Haeru wingu, Ierochou yo! (we get a closeup of the girl as she walks down the red carpet: Her hair is tied back in a ponytail so it doesn't get caught in the golden lace or the yellow sash on her short dress. The flashing cameras do make the topazes on her boots sparkle. Ierochou signs one fan's poster before being taken inside by security.)

(Finally a spotlight appears, as the limo's final passenger steps onto the red carpet....)

Male voice: Haeru wingu, Kochou yo! (everyone screams and cheers as a boy with flowing silver hair steps out of the limo and into the spotlights; the camera flashes making the jewels on his green, black, blue, and purple checkered jacket, as well as the sparkles on his black pants, sparkle. A white rose is tucked into the right pocket of the jacket, which Kochou sniffs as he listens to his fans chant his name.)

Kochou(voiceover): That's me, Kochou...leader of the Beautiflies. (Kochou carefully tucks the rose back in his pocket and starts down the red carpet, waving to his fans as he does so) The chant we cry at the beginning of every show, "Haeru wingu, Beautifly!" has special meaning to us...because if it were not for a Beautifly, we would've never had a chance to live this dream...and the young boy I once was would've never had the chance to become a man. (Kochou waves to the crowd as security escorts him inside the theater.)

(The scene fades to show a boy with messy black hair, a blue vest, a deep green shirt, and jeans seated at a table, studying a newspaper intently)

Kochou(voiceover): In reality, I'm just a ten year old child...but at the time, I had no idea that my dream of becoming Pokemon Master would take a back seat to a much more important dream... (the boy glances at one headline in shock.)

Ash: No way! It can't be!!!!

(The boy's mother, a brown haired woman in her early thirties, looks up from washing dishes for a moment, piqued by her son's cry. We notice the pendant complimenting her pink shirt spells her name: Delia.)

Delia: What's the matter, Ash?

Ash: The Theater de Pallete...(he struggles to hold back tears) They're going to tear it down! (Ash buries his face in his cap as he begins to cry.)

Delia: Ash, that old theater's been there for a very long time... (Ash just continues to cry as he darts upstairs.)

(We see Ash seated on his bed, still crying a little.)

Kochou(voiceover): See, the Theater de Palette was the only means of hosting concerts and theatrical productions in our town, and if it was gone, we would have to travel all the way to Viridian to see a concert or a play. But then, I noticed an item a little further in the story. (Ash musters a weak smile as he reads some more.) The committee in charge of the theater would be hosting a battle of the bands in an attempt to save it. (Ash picks up the phone and dials a number.) I felt compelled to tell all my friends about it...

(The screen splits five ways to show Brock, May, Crystal, and Whitney; all on the phone with Ash)

Ash: ...and if we don't win the battle of the bands, the Theater will be torn down!

Others: WHAT????

Whitney: It's a good thing you're trying to save the theater, Ash, but you're missing several important details...

Ash: Like?

Whitney: A. Whoever wins the battle gets the theater, so it doesn't solely depend on us...

May: B. Gary will likely be there...

Kochou(voiceover): I shuddered at this. Gary and I had this thing going: whatever I tried to do, he would try and do it better than me. So if he was at the battle of the bands, the chances of us winning would be next to nothing. Not that we had any musical skills to begin with--the only one of us that had a drop of musical blood in him was Brock--and a solo guitar wasn't going to cut it.

Brock: C. We don't have enough instruments or gear...

Crystal: and D. Where are we going to even get a song?

Kochou(voiceover): Things looked rather bleak...but no sooner had I said goodbye to my friends, did the phone ring again. (Ash picks up the phone again)

Ash: Hello?

(the screen splits to show Prof. Oak on the other end)

Kochou(voiceover): It was always a joy to get a call from the Professor...he was always inventing something or studying something, and often times invited the five of us to come along and help him out. Today was no different...

Prof. Oak: Hello there...I just got back from collecting Beautiflies for an observation experiment, and found a particularly interesting specimen...would you like to come see?

Ash: You bet! I'll be right there!

(the scene fades into the scene of a laboratory, where Ash, May, Brock, Crystal and Whitney are standing around a table looking at a jar containing a glowing Beautifly. Prof. Oak is nearby, making notes on a clipboard.)

May: Weird...it's not a shiny Beautifly...

Brock: If it's not Shiny, then why is it glowing that odd blue color like that? (gestures to the jar and its glowing occupant.)

(Before Ash can answer, he hears a tapping on the jar. He brushes this off as his imagination at first, but looks again when he hears it coming from the jar. the Beautifly inside is tapping its wings on the jar in a desprate attempt to get out.)

Prof. Oak: If any of the Beautiflies start getting uncomfortable, you can let them out for a few minutes. (continues observing a second Beautifly in a nearby enclosure)

Ash: Okay...let's let you out...

(Ash lifts the jar up, releasing the Beautifly. It circles around the table a few times before perching on a coat rack nearby the table)

Beautifly: Thank you so much!

Ash: You're welcome...I think....

Brock: You can speak?

May: Why do you have that blue glow?

Beautifly: Hey, I can only answer one question at a time, okay? First of all, my name is Nijiiro...but you can call me Niji for short.

Ash: Pleased to meet you, Niji...I'm Ash, and these are my friends May...(May waves hello) Brock...(Brock waves hello) Crystal...(Crystal waves hello) and Whitney. (Whitney waves hello).

Niji: Pleased to meet all of you...my glow and my speech ability come from my innate magical power...

Crystal: Magic? (Meanwhile, Prof. Oak ontinues to write while talking on the phone at the same time.)

Niji: Yes...it is said that if you find a captured Beautifly like me and free it, it becomes your friend for as long as the finder lives.

Prof. Oak(on the phone): Not only that, but if my theory about magical Beautiflies is correct, they can also grant wishes....

Niji: Book-boy there hit the nail on the head! Just tell me your deepest desires and I can grant them! (she leads the group down a stairway below the lab. Ash is thinking about this as Kochou speaks.)

Kochou(voiceover): It sounded crazy at first--could a Beautifly REALLY grant people's wishes? (everyone follows Niji through a hidden wall, where we see a lounge; complete with couches, a buffet, game tables, and TVs.) I decided to risk it and tell Niji about the Theater... (everyone makes themselves comfortable on one of the couches)

Ash: Well, Niji...there's the old theater in town...it's being threatened to be torn down...and there going to be a battle of the bands in an attempt to save it.

Niji: Go on...

Ash: I really want to enter, but one, I'm afraid my rival will one up me; and two, none of us really have that much musical talent.

Niji: Let's see... she flies off the coat rack and loops in the air, making a silver pendant fall to the ground. Rings appear on the others' hands. All five look at their items quizzically.)

Ash: Jewelry? How can jewelry make us become a band? (puts the silver pendant around his neck)

Niji: Just hold up your hand and tell me "I'm your little Beautifly!"

Ash: Here goes... (he raises his hand in the air and sings in a noticeably older sounding voice.) Ai-yai-yai, I'm your little Beautifly!

(the pendant plays back the notes that Ash sang. Ash, however, just covers his mouth in embarrassment.)

Ash: ::gulp:: What did I just sing? And how did my voice magically change?

Niji: No time for questions, just sing the rest of it!

Ash: (swallows hard and holds his hand in the air again, then sings again in a noticeably older sounding voice) Ai-yai-yai, I'm your little Beautifly! (Ash's hand begins to glow) Green, black, and blue; make the colors in the sky!

(MUSIC-"Beautifly" (instrumental))

(We see a glowing outline of Ash's body against the background of Beautifly wings. As Ash hangs in this position, his torso begins to glow purple, and a silver and purple shirt appears on him. Next, a checkered jacket appears over that in a flash of purple. Next, we look at Ash's legs as sparkling black pants appear on his legs in a flash of blue, and silver shoes appear on his feet. The view next shifts to Ash's head, where we see his eyes finally open. His normally black hair begins to lengthen and turn silver. A white rose appears in the right pocket of the jacket, which the young man holds in one hand as he poses for the audience.)

(Music cut)

May: Wow!

Brock: Show me how to do that! (Crystal and Whitney both have hearts in their eyes)

Niji: I give you the newest hit sensation...Kochou! (everyone applauds as the young man appears before May, Brock, Crystal, and Whitney)

Kochou(voiceover): I was a bit afraid of my new appearance at the time...the shirt, the checkered jacket... (Kochou nervously feels around the green, black, blue, and purple checkered jacket) Even the pants and the new haircut felt strange. (Kochou tensely holds a wad of his newly long silver hair in his fingers.) At the same time, they all felt...familiar.... (As everyone is oggling over Kochou, everyone hears footsteps coming towards the foot of the stairs)

May: Uh oh...

Brock: How are we going to explain Kochou to the Professor?

Niji: It's all right, he doesn't even know this lounge is here. (Sure enough, everyone hears the footsteps walk away, as well as Prof. Oak mumbling "Must've been my imagination...)

May: I want to transform like that!

Crystal: Me too!

Brock: Me three!

Niji: All right, all right, I'll teach you...who wants to be my lab Rattata here?

May: I will! (gets up from her couch and faces the others)

Niji: Now, touch the jewel in your ring, then clap twice. (May follows Niji's instructions, when she claps twice, her shirt lengthens and gains silver buttons. Next, she taps the ring on her shoes, making them turn into red high heels. Upon tapping the ring on her legs, she gains a white skirt with rubies dotting it. Finally, she claps over her head twice, and an electric guitar appears in her hands, as well as her hair turning red.)

Akaichou: Haeru wingu, Akaichou yo!

Brock: Hair-o wingu WHAT?

Niji: What Akaichou said was "Pretty wing, I am Red Beautifly." (to Kochou) This is Akaichou...she plays guitar and sings backup...

Kochou: Don't I get an instrument?

Niji: Sure you do! Just clap twice!

(Kochou obeys, and an electric guitar similar to Akaichou's appears in his hands)

Niji: Oh yes...if you wish to return to your normal form, Kochou has to just sing "Where's my samurai?"...the rest of you, just say "Fly away..."

Akaichou: Got it!

Crystal: Okay! It's my turn to transform now! (she touches the sapphire in her ring and claps twice, making glaves appear on her hands. When the sapphire is tapped on her feet, her shoes become aqua sandals studded with sapphires. Next, Crystal claps over her head, making her slip into a shirt that starts out royal blue at the top, then turns white at the bottom; followed by a aqua skirt. Finally, she claps twice again, and her hair is magically braided, plus a harmonica appears in her hand.)

Mizuirochou: Haeru wingu, Mizuirochou yo!

Niji: This is Mizuirochou, on wind instruments and backup vocals.

Kochou: That explains the harmonica... (Mizuirochou runs and takes her place by a mic at stage left, behind a drum set. Akaichou is behind a mic at stage right, nearby a digital piano.

Brock: So who gets the drums and the piano?

Niji: Transform to see which one of those you get!

Brock: Here goes...(touches the emerald in his ring and claps twice, making his shirt turn silver. Upon touching the jewel to his legs, he gains a pair of emerald studded pants and golden shoes, also studded with emeralds. Next, Brock claps twice over his head, making the rest of his normal clothes become a sparkling green jacket. Finally, he claps twice again, making his hair turn black and forming a pair of drum sticks in one hand.)

Midorichou: Haeru wingu, Midorichou yo!

Niji: This is Midorichou, your drummer. (a spotlight appears on Midorichou, who is already comfortable at the drums)

(Whitney looks at the topaz in her ring, unsure.)

Niji: Go on, it's not going to hurt...

(Whitney swallows hard, touches the topaz in her ring, and claps twice, making her shirt and shorts turn into a short yellow dress. Touching the ring to her shoes turns them into small boots. Clapping over her head makes Whitney's hair turn yellow and put itself up in a ponytail, as well as making a yellow sash and small topazes appear on her costume. Whitney claps again, and lace appears on her costume.)

Ierochou: Haeru wingu, Ierochou yo!

Niji: Pesenting Kochou and the Beautiflies, everyone! (everyone claps in agreement.)

Akaichou: Come on guys, let's practice for the battle!

(everyone starts playing a pop beat as Kochou begins to sing)

Kochou: There's music in the air,
News is in the makin'!
Music in the air,
Somethin' big is breakin'!

Kochou and others: Wow, look around at the sight and sound
Did we take you by surprise?
Bet you can't believe your eyes!

(oh) Whoa!
Well this is only the beginning,
Only the beginning!

(Now!) Now's the time when our star's on the climb!
Watch us try for the prize,
We're already on the rise...

Others: The rise! Surprise! Oh!

Kochou and others: Well this is only the beginning,
Only the beginning, Only the beginning!
Only the beginning, Only the beginning!

Wow, look around at the sight and sound,

(The band continues to play as Kochou speaks)

Kochou(voiceover): As I played that first song, it felt so nice, and my mind began to turn to dreams of the future. (the music continues as we see shots of the red carpet entrances from earlier, magazine covers with Kochou's face on them, CD's of the band flying off of a shelf, Kochou singing on a TV screen, a shot of a music download site with the band at the top of the download charts, and the like) I was snapped back to reality by one burning question: (the scene returns to reality, where the band is still playing) How was my mother going to react to my new identity?

(A shot of Delia appears)

Kochou: Where's my samurai? (Kochou glows purple for a few moments, revealing Ash when the light fades)

Others: Fly away... (the others glow their respective colors for a moment before returning to normal, then leave the lounge; Niji not very far behind. They climb back upstairs and into the lab. Prof. Oak is now off the phone, but still writing on a clipboard.)

Prof. Oak: Hmm...I swear that I didn't turn the radio on earlier... so where was that great song coming from? (turns on the radio)

Radio announcer: And coming in at number 3, it's Kochou and the Beautiflies with "Only the Beginning"! (Ash's mouth drops to the floor as Kochou's voice drifts through the speakers: There's music in the air, news is in the makin'! music in the air, somethin' big is breakin'!)

May: We made it on the radio????

Brock: I guess someone heard us playing...

Crystal: WOO-HOO!!! We made it on the radio! We made it on the radio! We made it on the radio!... (grabs Brock and drags him all over the floor) We made it on the radio! We made it on the radio! We made it on the radio!...

Brock: Yeah, Crystal; I--ow!--know you're--oof!--excited about--ow!--us getting on the--ow!--radio...

Kochou(voiceover): Crystal's excitement led us to have permanant custody of Niji...we parted ways that afternoon with plans to meet at the park where the battle was being held. (the scene shifts to show Ash walking home, Niji by his side.) The walk home was relatively uneventful...until she showed up.

(Off in the distance, we see a red haired girl in a pale yellow shirt and blue shorts seated on a bench by the bus stop, reading a book. She looks up from the book for a moment and smiles at Ash. Ash nervously tugs at his shirt collar.)

Kochou(voiceover): Misty and I had known each other for a very long time, and every time I saw her, I got nervous...I wanted to tell her that I loved her and that she was beautiful, but my nervousness always got in the way. (Ash is quivering profusely as he approaches the bench.)

Misty: Hi, Ash... (she scoots over to make room for Ash. Ash notices that Misty's listening to music on some headphones.) Who's your little Beautifly friend here?

Kochou(voiceover): Although Misty was usually afraid of bugs, she seemed okay around Beautiflies...and Niji was no exception.

Misty: She's beautiful...

Ash: Yeah...she glows like she does because....uh....she's a special variety of Shiny!

Misty: Oh?

Niji(whispering): I am NOT Shiny!

Ash(whispering): Just play along! (to Misty) Yeah, Prof. Oak let me take care of her. Her name's Niji.

Niji: Beautifly! (Misty nervously pets Niji)

Kochou(voiceover): So I'd gotten around the hurdle of explaining Niji to Misty...next was how to explain my new identity without alerting her that I was also Kochou....

Ash: What'cha listening to?

Misty: This new band, Kochou and the Beautiflies. (lifts a headphone off one ear, making "Only the Beginning" fill the air. Ash listens in shock.) I particularly like Kochou himself...he seems like a nice person--but not as nice as you! (playfully glomps Ash, but Ash digs his way out of Misty's death grip)
Ash: You think so?

Misty: Yeah! I did hear that he was coming to the battle of the bands tomorrow.

Ash: I was planning on going to the battle myself--that is if I'm not busy with chores tomorrow... (he climbs off the bench and starts on his way)

Misty: I hope you can come! (waves goodbye as Ash and Niji disappear down the path.)

(Ash continues running down the road as Kochou speaks again)

Kochou(voiceover): Now I had more reason to be at the battle than ever--Misty was going to be there! (Ash dances down the road as he thinks of Misty) Little did I know, there was trouble in the air. (We see three shadowy figures watching the stage area in the park: one male, one female, and one feline.)

Akaichou(voiceover): Next time, on "Kochou and the Beautiflies"....

(we see a brown haired boy and a maroon haired girl clad in Rocket attire)

Akaichou(voiceover): The battle of the bands is underway, and the theater is saved... (we see shots of the band playing and Kochou singing) but when we meet up with two Rocket grunts that want to steal our spotlight, (we see the Rockets again) a game of Meowth and Rattata begins as we try to save ourselves from their evil plot. (We see the band fleeing from a burning house, and Misty tending to Kochou's burn wounds.) Can we survive and outlast them? Find out next time!

Sorry for the delay, but college can be busy sometimes...

I was wondering why you didn't work on any other fanfic other than The Ash and Pikachu Show! (Season 2). Then this pops up...

Again, you took the time to ensure that you hit a lot of details, and that's awesome! It's very interesting that Ash and friends take on a different identity when changing to The Beautiflies. (5 transforming people = Power Rangers?) Makes me wonder if there are gonna be even more members to the band...

But again, you had to repeat the transformations, just like Pokemon: A Siren's Voice. (speaking of which, you said you'd give one more episode. wah!) A little repetitive, but easily avoidable by the reader by scrolling down further.

A few minor things I sorta wonder about. A Beautifly that's in a jar on a table. Either that Beautifly is much smaller than an average one, or that's one massive jar! (if you didn't already know, on average they're more than half the size of May)

Another talking Meowth? And of all things, another mafia-member accented one? It would have been more interesting if it were another Pokémon instead... (frankly, I've grown somewhat irritated with his voice, but accept the fact that it has to be a part of the show; can't say the same with the Japanese counterpart.)

An interesting plot and story overall. Great job! I can't wait for future episodes of The Adventures of Kochou and the Beautiflies!

(Oh yeah, and what happened to Pokemon: Rescue Force!?)

(I decided to drop that too to make room for this)

As for Meowth appearing, he's there to train Kage and Yami, since they're not as experienced as Jessie and James.

(The word "Previously" flashes on the screen as an instrumental of "Only the Beginning" plays in the background)

Niji(voiceover): Previously, on "Kochou and the Beautiflies"....

(We see a shot of Kochou accepting his prize from the previous episode)

Niji(voiceover): The battle of the bands got underway, but something was amiss when we arrived. (we see the dialogue with Gary from the last episode) The other bands were being unfairly challenged and beaten by a trio of Rockets, and they would stop at nothing to win! (we see Kage, Yami, and Meowth performing) But Kochou sang his hardest, and the Beautifies ultimately won the battle, ownership of the Theater, plus a few other perks as well. (we see shots of Kochou singing, followed by shots of the billion credit check and the mansion. We were supposed to move into our new digs the following morning, but the Rockets set a brushfire that ignited our campsite and almost scorched Kochou! (we see the Beautiflies fleeing the brushfire and Kochou coughing inside a smoky tent) Thankfully, Misty saved Kochou before he could get seriously hurt. (we see Misty rescuing Kochou) Kochou only needed an overnight hospital stay to recover, but he was pretty thankful Misty rescued him. (we see Kochou and Misty hug)

Today we've been asked to put on a show in Johto..I wonder what adventures await us there? (we see three shadowed figures aboard the Legendary Beasts)

(upbeat music begins as we see the title)

Episode 3: Beautifly and the Beasts

(We see a shot of the mansion from the outside as Kochou speaks)

Kochou(voiceover): Despite the brushfire the night before, we moved into the mansion as planned. (We see Ash, Delia, Misty, and the others helping the movers) Mom thought it was great I was moving into the presence of her favorite star--but unbeknownst to her, I was also the favorite star. (We see Ash hugging Delia as she goes to help the movers in another part of the house)

(The scene shifts to Misty behind a desk taking a call.)

Kochou(voiceover): During my hospital stay, I befriended Fern, a former DJ for KNTO who now owned a record label. (we see a black haired girl bringing a gift for Kochou) Not only did she get us a record deal, she also offered Misty the chance to be our publicist. (we return to Misty behind the desk again) Thanks to the two of them, word about us began to spread to places far away...

Misty(on the phone): Mm-hmm...okay...you'll give them the royal treatment, huh? All right, thank you...bye. (hangs up. Niji watches as Misty makes a few notes.)

Niji: Making a few preparations for us to come to Johto?

Misty: Yeah...I've secured the royal treatment for you guys!

Niji: Oh?

Misty: You'll get a charter flight there from Lugia Airways, the best food, the penthouse in the Hotel Ecruteak...and the top security from their elite Beast riders!

Niji: Oh, I've heard of them--didn't they save the world from some Legendary hunter and heal a dark Beast some time ago?

Misty: Those are the riders I'm talking about! (Crystal overhears this as she walks in the room)

Crystal: Our security are some Beast Riders? (Misty nods) Wow!

Brock: I hear they saved the world from some crazed hunter a while back...(gets some supplies from the refrigerator and starts making a sandwich)

Niji: Pack your bags, Beautiflies! (Crystal and Brock hurry off to get ready as Misty answers the phone again to negotiate some more)

Kochou(voiceover): We decided to depart for Johto the next morning...and by the time that morning arrived, you could almost feel the excitement in the air. (we see the gang, Misty, and Niji walk into the airport and duck into an alcove out of the view of the passengers.)

Misty: You know what time it is, Beautiflies! (everyone nods)

(May touches the ruby in her ring and claps twice, her shirt lengthens and gains silver buttons. Next, she taps the ring on her shoes, making them turn into red high heels. Upon tapping the ring on her legs, she gains a white skirt with rubies dotting it. Finally, she claps over her head twice, and an electric guitar appears in her hands, as well as her hair turning red.)

Akaichou: Haeru wingu, Akaichou yo!

(Brock touches the emerald in his ring and claps twice, making his shirt turn silver. Upon touching the jewel to his legs, he gains a pair of emerald studded pants and golden shoes, also studded with emeralds. Next, Brock claps twice over his head, making the rest of his normal clothes become a sparkling green jacket. Finally, he claps twice again, making his hair turn black and forming a pair of drum sticks in one hand.)

Midorichou: Haeru wingu, Midorichou yo!

(Crystal touches the sapphire in her ring and claps twice, making glaves appear on her hands. When the sapphire is tapped on her feet, her shoes become aqua sandals studded with sapphires. Next, Crystal claps over her head, making her slip into a shirt that starts out royal blue at the top, then turns white at the bottom; followed by a aqua skirt. Finally, she claps twice again, and her hair is magically braided, plus a harmonica appears in her hand.)

Mizuirochou: Haeru wingu, Mizuirochou yo!

(Whitney touches the topaz in her ring and claps twice, making her shirt and shorts turn into a short yellow dress. Touching the ring to her shoes turns them into small boots. Clapping over her head makes Whitney's hair turn yellow and put itself up in a ponytail, as well as making a yellow sash and small topazes appear on her costume. Whitney claps again, and lace appears on her costume.)

Ierochou: Haeru wingu, Ierochou yo!

Ash(holds his hand in the air, then sings in a noticeably older sounding voice): Ai-yai-yai, I'm your little Beautifly! (Ash's hand begins to glow) Green, black, and blue; make the colors in the sky!

(MUSIC-"Beautifly" (instrumental))

(We see a glowing outline of Ash's body against the background of Beautifly wings. As Ash hangs in this position, his torso begins to glow purple, and a silver and purple shirt appears on him. Next, a checkered jacket appears over that in a flash of purple. Next, we look at Ash's legs as sparkling black pants appear on his legs in a flash of blue, and silver shoes appear on his feet. The view next shifts to Ash's head, where we see his eyes finally open. His normally black hair begins to lengthen and turn silver. A white rose appears in the right pocket of the jacket, which the young man holds in one hand as he poses for the audience.)

(Music cut)

Misty: Looking good, Beautiflies! (the gang walks into the crowd towards a Lugia Airways terminal, tickets in hand. After being checked by security, they wait for their Lugia to arrive.)

(An hour or so later, a Lugia wearing a silver rose lands at the terminal. The magnificent bird Pokemon decides to sun itself as its cabin is opened for passengers to board.)

Niji: Here's our ride...

Akaichou: He's beautiful!

Midorichou: I'll say... (follows Akaichou aboard)

(Once everyone is aboard, the Lugia soars off into the sky!)

(After a while, Mizuirochou glances out the cabin window, bored.)

Mizuirochou: Are we there yet?

Ierochou: We'll be there when the pilot says we're there, okay? (Mizuirochou slumps to the floor, dejected.)

Niji: If you're so bored, why don't you guys practice a song or two? I have your instruments all here. (gestures to the gang's instruments, all set up and ready to be played.)

Ierochou: Ooh, good idea! (runs to the digital piano by Mizuirochou's mike. Midorichou settles in at the drums and practices a beat while everyone else tunes up. Kochou claps twice, summoning an acoustic guitar to compliment his electric sitting nearby. He tunes up while watching the clouds roll by.)

(After a few minutes, everyone's tuned and ready to play)

Kochou: Let's start with that one we've been working on to warm up, okay? (everyone nods)

(Kochou starts a catchy melody as Midorichou keeps a light beat in the background)

Kochou: I know where I'm going, don't'cha wanna come too?
I got my reservations, and I got one for you...
Plane's leaving just after dark,

Kochou and Akaichou: I know my destination is waiting for me... (We see a map of the world, with the gang's route as a silver dotted line. Ecruteak City is notated as a star)
I got no hesitation, that's where I wanna be! (We see a shot of Ecruteak City again before returning to the band playing)

Kochou: By the time that the sun comes up, (We see a sunrise on Ecruteak City)
I'll be drinkin' from a lovin' cup! (we see Kochou strolling along a street, holding hands with Misty, before we return to the band again)

Mizuirochou: We're here! (she steps out of the cabin to see three armored boys, each aboard a Beast)

Midorichou: So these three are our security...(steps off the exit ramp)

(We cut to see Kage, Yami, and Meowth watching them from a bush)

Kage: So the brushfire didn't work...

Yami: We can always upstage them, so WE hit the top of the charts here! (we see a music chart with "The Rocket Trio" at number 1)

(Back with the band, a young woman meets up with the gang and the riders)

Woman: Welcome to Johto, everyone...I'm Mary, head DJ on WJTO. These three are Josh (a yellow armored boy aboard a Raikou waves) Ace, (a red armored boy aboard an Entei waves) and Aravan... (a blue armored boy aboard a Suicune waves)

Josh: So this is the hit band everyone's talking about...

Ace: Aren't they the band that sings "Only the Beginning" and "When Tomorrow Comes"?

Aravan: Yeah! They've topped the charts in Kanto already, and "When Tomorrow Comes" is number 6 on the charts here...

Mary: "Only the Beginning" stands at number 8, and climbing fast!

Kochou: Pleased to meet all of you...I'm Kochou; the leader of the band...(gestures to Akaichou) This is Akaichou, on guitar and vocals...Midorichou, on drums...(Midorichou waves hello) Mizuirochou on wind instruments and vocals...(Mizuirochou waves hello) and Ierochou, on keyboards. (Ierochou waves hello)

Mary: You all must be tired from your journey, so let's get you settled in the hotel...

(That night, the band is on the patio in their hotel room, ready to rehearse. Mizuirochou paces the stage, and Midorichou practices a restless beat.)

Mizuirochou: Where IS Kochou, anyway?

Niji: I'll go wake him up... (she flies off into the ornately decorated room, where we see Ash lying on one of the beds, snoozing) Hey!

Ash: Wha? (he sits up and yawns) What's the matter?

Niji: Your bandmates are waiting for you outside, so come rehearse!

Ash: Okay... (walks onto the patio and raises his hand in the air, unaware that Josh is watching him. He begins to sing in a noticably older voice) Ai-yai-yai, I'm your little Beautifly! (Josh watches in shock as Ash's hand begins to glow) Green, black, and blue; make the colors in the sky!

(MUSIC-"Beautifly" (instrumental))

(We see a shocked look on Josh's face for a moment before we see a glowing outline of Ash's body against the background of Beautifly wings. As Ash hangs in this position, his torso begins to glow purple, and a silver and purple shirt appears on him. Next, a checkered jacket appears over that in a flash of purple. Next, we look at Ash's legs as sparkling black pants appear on his legs in a flash of blue, and silver shoes appear on his feet. The view next shifts to Ash's head, where we see his eyes finally open. His normally black hair begins to lengthen and turn silver. A white rose appears in the right pocket of the jacket, which the young man holds in one hand as he poses for the audience.)

(Music cut)

(Josh rubs his eyes, amazed as to what he just saw)

Josh(thinking): Tell me I didn't see that... (he starts off towards the rider's quarters nearby the hotel when Kage, Yami, and Meowth; in disguise as newspaper reporters, approach)

Kage: Hold it, great rider!

Yami: We've received a report of an odd flash of light in the area, and think it's a clue to Kochou's real identity. Could you tell us what you saw?

Josh: Uh...

Kage: What did you see?

Yami: Did you see Kochou's true identity?

Meowth: Could you see anyting at all?

Josh: Look, all I saw was a bright flash of light...it was probably just the lights on their stage, okay?

Yami: Sounds good to us! Thanks for your time! (Josh rolls his eyes as the Rockets disappear)

(The Rockets return to the bush they were hiding in and remove their disguises--then Yami realizes that Josh gave them the slip)

Yami: Oh great!

Kage: Huh?

Yami: The Beast rider gave us the slip, and we were so close to finding out Kochou's true identity too! (she clenches her fists in frustration and bursts into song) Why me? Why me? Why me, why did you do it to me? (Unbeknownst to Yami, Midorichou is listening from another bush)

Midorichou: Hey...that sounded like a good song! (quickly scribbles down what Yami sung on a notepad before retreating to the hotel.)

(The next morning, the Beast Riders arrive to wake the band)

Aravan: Rise and shine, everyone!

Mizuirochou: Ah..nothing like a good rehearsal before bedtime... (she stretches)

Akaichou: Not to mention Midorichou came up with a great song idea last night! (climbs out of bed and gets dressed)

Ace: Hurry and get ready--the rainbow bird, Ho'oh; has heard of you, and seeks to hear you perform.

Akaichou: Really?

Midorichou: I've always wanted to perform for a Legendary! (everyone scrambles to get ready)

(Later, we see the gang at the top of the Tin Tower, setting up. Kochou kneels before Ho'oh as the riders watch expectantly.)

Ho'oh: Rise, Kochou...(Kochou rises from his kneeling postion) Although you're just starting out, I forsee your music is destined to become timeless, and you will enjoy great popularity for a long time. But the road to stardom won't be easy, and there will be many dangers along the way...

Kochou: I know...

Ho'oh: The Rocket Trio will stop at nothing to stop you...but if you keep proving to them you have the better talents, you will go far. Now...I have heard of your songs...perhaps you could play one for me?

Kochou: Okay! (he retreats to his waiting guitar and mike at center stage) We wrote this one last night...it's called "Why Me?"

Meowth: You sang dose lines after we missed figuring out Kochou's identity last night, remember?

Kage: It's settled then...drastic times call for drastic measures...(the three Rockets huddle together)

Kochou(voiceover): After a day of sightseeing and exploring... (we see the Beast Riders guiding the gang around various locations in Ecruteak.) it came time for the big concert. (we see an arena packed full of people) But we didn't know that we had a few uninvited guests in the audience as well...

(We see the band backstage, getting ready. Midorichou admires himself in a mirror, and Akaichou tunes her guitar as showtime draws near.)

Ierochou: Won't be long before Mary gets here...

Aravan: I can't wait for you guys to play...

Ace: I wanna hear you as much as all those people out there do!

(No sooner does Ace say this, does a crash come from onstage. The band races to see what's happening and spot Kage and Yami onstage.)

Mizuirochou: Hey!

Midorichou: I don't remember the Rocket Trio being on the program....

Mizuirochou: I have the perfect way to get them offstage...(tiptoes to the wings with a saxophone)

(On the stage, Meowth starts a rock riff)

Kage and Yami: Winning is everything, winning is everything!

Kage: It isn't how you play the game!

Kage and Yami: Winning is everything, winning is everything!

Yami: I want everybody to know my name!

(At this, Mizuirochou blasts a high note, sending the Rockets flying! Mary watches as the Rockets disappear with a *ping*.)

Mary: Thanks, Mizuirochou...(the crowd hushes as Mary comes onstage) And now, give it up for Kochou and the Beautiflies!

(the crowd roars as Mizuirochou and Midorichou lead the band into the song on saxophone and drums, respectively.)

Mizuirochou(voiceover): A gig at the Game Corner turns into more than it appears when we receive a tip it's really a Rocket hideout! (we see Officer Jenny talking to the band) It looks like the makings of a mystery, but we can't find any clues to prove the hideout hunch. (we see the gang looking for clues) But things go from bad to worse when the Rockets try to catch Niji! (we see Niji flying away from the Rockets) Can we rescue her and solve the mystery? Tune in tomorrow and see!

(We see the word "Previously" on the screen as an instrumental of "Only the Beginning" plays in the background)

Niji(voiceover): Previously, on "Kochou and the Beautiflies"...

(we see a shot of the gang rehearsing from the previous episode)

Niji(voiceover): Our fame has apparently spread to Johto, where our two biggest hits are in the top ten! (we see shots of music charts, wth "Only the Beginning" at number 8 and "When Tomorrow Comes" at number 6) Not only are our accomodations top notch... (we see shots of the Hotel Ecruteak's penthouse) our security is, too! (we see shots of the Beast riders from the previous episode.) But, one of them saw Ash transform by mistake, (we see Josh's shocked face as Ash transforms) and would've blown his cover had he not seen through those Rockets' cheap disguises. (we see a shot of Kage and Yami in disguise from the preious episode) Thankfully, our show went smoothly despite the Rockets' crashing it. (we see Kochou singing from the previous episode.)

Tonight though, we have a gig in Celadon City, but the venue is more than it appears!

(upbeat music begins as we see the title)

Kochou: Hey! My name is Kochou!

Kochou: Hey! My name is Kochou! (Kochou poses with his bandmates, Misty, and Niji before the title, which is lit up like a neon sign)

Episode 4: Get Ready for the Game Corner!

(We see a cab pull up to the curb nearby the Game Corner. Ash, May, Brock, Crystal, Whitney, and Misty all emerge from the cab and stretch, refreshed by the ride.)

Ash: Charge the fare to my cab pass, please. (presents an orange card with a picture of a cab on it to the driver)

Driver: All right, a three block trip comes to 500 credits. (he swipes the card, then gives it back to Ash) Have a good evening, guys. (Ash waves goodbye as the cab speeds off into the traffic)

Crystal: 500 credits? Not bad for three blocks.

Misty: Enough about the fare! We have a gig to go to! (she leads the gang inside the Game Corner, where various patrons are playing the various games)

Whitney: Wow...

Ash: This place sure has grown since the last time I was here!

Brock: Which was three years ago, when we happened to find that it was all a cover for a Rocket base.

Misty: I remember that! Ran the Rockets out of town, and made sure they wouldn't return!

Niji: But look at it now...not a trace of that in sight! (The camera looks around the various slots and game tables to illustrate Niji's point)

May: It's beautiful...I want to try some of the games!

Crystal: Me too!

Misty: Hmm...what do you think, Niji?

Niji: Well....

Everyone else: PLEAAAAAAASSEEE???? (they glance at Niji with Growlithe eyes)

Niji: Oh, okay.... (everyone cheers) But on one condition. (everyone freezes in their cheer pose) Transform first.

May: Got it!

(We see various shots of the gang at the various games: Akaichou stopping the reels on a slot machine, Midorichou glancing at a poker hand, Mizuirochou watching a roulette wheel spin, Ierochou collecting her winnings from a game of blackjack, and Kochou calling his hand on a game of Hi/Lo Stud. All of this is quickly revealed in a binocular lens....Kage, Yami, and Meowth are watching from a telescope in a secret underground lair)

Yami: This is perfect, getting the Beautiflies all together in one place! Who's up for burning this place to the ground? (holds a box of matches in the air to prove her point)

Meowth: Let's not do da fire ting again...remember da brushfire we tried to set last week?

(We see a flashback of the brushfire)

Kage: Besides, if we do that again, it'll take our little hideout with it. Let's not forget what happened when those guys before us tried to set a building on fire. (brandishes a reel of movie film. Meowth gasps at the reel.)

Meowth: No, please! Not another Jessie and James lecture!

Kage: It's important to learn why they failed so that we don't repeat their mistakes again. (flicks off the lights and starts the projector, which flashes scenes from "Make Room for Gloom!" on a screen. Yami watches, bemused as Ash rescues Gloom from the burning Gym)

Yami: I see...if we tried to burn down this place, Kochou would likely be rescued again, like Ash rescued that Gloom.

Kage: Exactly.

Yami: Say... (at this point in the film, we see a "Blast off") Why don't we expose them by taking their pet Beautifly?

Kage: It's been done...

Yami: That was with a Pikachu! We're dealing with a completely different Pokemon here!

Meowth: You may have a point dere, Yami...

Yami: Huh?

Meowth: I still tink dat Beautifly may be da source of da band's power...and without it, dey'll be exposed!

Kage: It's a start....but if they come looking for it...

(Back on the Game Corner floor, Midorichou studies yet another poker hand, when he notices Officer Jenny approaching the table. He motions for the others to join him.)

Akaichou: Officer Jenny?

Midorichou: What brings you here?

Officer Jenny: Before anyone panics, you five are not in the wrong here. (the gang breathes a sigh of relief) I came because of a tip that there are still signs of Rocket activity here. (everyone gasps at this)

Misty: Again?

Ierochou: Here?

Officer Jenny: Yes...it was thought that the force had cleared out all the Rockets from this place three years ago, but apparently some have remained to this day, plotting their activities underground. We haven't found any concrete leads yet, but you all need to be on alert for anything like wiretaps or bugs.

Mizuirochou: Wow...this is serious stuff...

Officer Jenny: As of right now, your lives are not endangered, but if you do see anything suspicious, by all means, let us know.

Akaichou: We will, Officer. (she waves goodbye as Officer Jenny walks into the crowd. Kochou speaks as the camera looks around the Game Corner again)

Kochou(voiceover): I couldn't believe it--Rockets were still operating here after three years? Judging from what Officer Jenny had said, the police were taking it seriously. With that thought in mind, I began to look around for anything suspicious. (the scene dissolves to Kochou and the others exploring, tapping on the walls and floors, looking behind the machines, and other things)

Kochou: Anything, guys?

Akaichou: Nope. (taps a wall)

Midorichou(under a table): Uh-uh.

Mizuruchou(behind a slot machine): Nobody here but us wires.

Ierochou(looking behind a posting on a bulliten board): Nothing over here....

(In another part of the Corner, we see a lime haired boy with a Roselia at one of the poker tables. Kochou speaks as we watch him play a hand.)

Kochou(voiceover): While we continued our search for clues, we didn't know that we weren't the only star power in the house. (Drew reveals his hand: two pair. The other players applaud as Drew accepts his winnings.) The great movie star Drew Eigaka was also here by sheer coincidence...and he seemed to be interested in our music.

Drew(thinking): Could it be? The singer everyone calls Kochou? (he motions to his guards) Let me speak with Kochou. (the guards nod, and follow Drew as he approaches the gang, who appear to have given up on their search.) Greetings, Beautiflies.

Kochou: If it isn't the great Drew Eigaka...what can we do for you?

Drew: I've heard about your currently rising fame, and two of your most popular songs...I'm here in town because I'm looking for a musical act to star with me in my latest movie, Galaxy Dreamer.(everyone gasps.)

Akaichou: Really? We've never acted before.

Midorichou: Care to spoil us with details, Mr. Eigaka?

Drew: Not yet...I'll tell you if you're lucky enough to be a part of it. (While Drew is talking, Niji spots a huge hole behind a poster and flies inside) If you'd like to try, I can spare a little while to hear you play.

Ierochou: With pleasure. (everyone runs to get ready)

(Before long, everyone is in position on a stage. Drew, his guards, and the Roselia watch intently.)

Midorichou: Which song should we do?

Kochou: Let's do our new one, okay guys?

(lights begin flashing to the beat as a techno beat begins)

Kochou: You've got to move it, feel the temperature!
Into the rhythm, let the fire burn!

The tribal da-a-a-a-a-a-a-ance! (everyone begins to dance to the song)

(Meanwhile, Niji flies along a dark passageway.)

Niji: Odd...what would this passageway be doing here...(she bonks her head on a rafter) OW! (shakes her head) You'd think they'd have warning signs in here or something...

(Suddenly the lights flash on, surprising Niji as she is caught in a net! She breaks free and also manages to escape Kage's hands, prompting him and Yami to run after her.)

(Back in the Game Corner, the band is still playing and a large crowd is dancing as Drew and his staff listen intently)

Kochou: You've got to move it, feel the temperature!
Into the rhythm, let the fire burn!
So get into it, get into the trance!

(as the music ends, Mizuirochou hears scuffling through the wall)

Mizuirochou: What's that?

(more scuffling is heard, followed by a cry for help. (Kochou freezes when he hears the voice)

Kochou: NIJI!!! (he darts off towards the wall as the scene fades out with the words "To Be Continued..." plastered over Kochou running.)

(The word "Next" appears onscreen as an instrumental of "When Tomorrow Comes" begins)

Ierochou(voiceover): Next time, on "Kochou and the Beautiflies..."

(We see Kochou and the Rockets singing)

Ierochou(voiceover): We make our way through a secret passage to save Niji, but it's not without a lot of traps! (we see the gang getting caught in various traps) As if saving Niji isn't enough, (we see Kochou catching Niji in his arms) we also have to deal with the Rocket Trio as we vie for a spot in Drew Eigaka's next movie! (we see a shot of Drew again) But right now I'm worried about Niji...will she be okay? Stay tuned and see!

(an instrumental of "Only the Beginning" plays as the word "Previously" appears onscreen)

Niji(voiceover): Previously, on "Kochou and the Beautiflies..."

(We see a shot of the Game Corner floor)

Niji(voiceover): We came to Celadon's Game Corner for a gig, only to find out that it's rumored to still be haunted by Rockets! (we see Officer Jenny talking to the band) So to give Officer Jenny a little help, we searched the place from top to bottom for any sort of a passageway, but didn't find a thing. (we see the gang looking in various places) We weren't the only star power in the house...the great movie star Drew Eigaka was there, looking for a musical act to star with him in his next movie! (we see Drew talking with the gang) Kochou and the others decided to play for him, but I decided to do some exploring myself. (we see the band performing, followed by Niji flying inside a hole behind a poster.) Unfortunately, the Rockets found me, and I narrowly escaped being caught! (we see Kage and Yami chasing after Niji)

If only Kochou and the gang would hurry and find me...I don't wanna be imprisoned again!

(upbeat music begins as we see the title)

(We join the gang frantically looking for the source of Niji's call for help)

Mizuirochou: Where IS she?

Ierochou: We've searched this whole place from top to bottom, and no Niji anywhere!

Misty: Say...(she motions for the gang to come closer) Maybe if we sang a plea for help....

Kochou: You know, Misty...it sounds crazy, but it just might work!

(we see two different shots of the drum sticks hitting the drums before the scene quickly zooms out to show the band performing)

(Drew and the crowd applaud, but a young girl approaches the stage and motions for Kochou to come closer.)

Girl: If it's what you're looking for, Mr. Kochou; I saw a Beautifly fly into the secret passageway behind that poster over there... (points out the poster Niji flew behind)

Kochou: Well, thank you, miss. (starts toward the poster) Misty...Midorichou and Mizuirochou are going with me to find Niji...

Misty: Gotcha!

Kochou: Guard the instruments until we return. (climbs behind the poster into the passageway. Mizuirochou and Midorichou follow; with Midorichou carrying a flashlight.)

(The scene turns pitch dark for a moment...we only hear crawling until we hear a thud and see a star at the right edge of the screen to mark where the thud occured)

Mizuirochou: Ow!

Kochou: Watch your head, guys....Midorichou, if you could get in front of me...

Midorichou: I'd be glad to shed some light on the subject!

(after some reshuffling, we see the beam of a flashlight, with Midorichou, Kochou, and Mizuirochou dimly lit. Various junk is also strewn about.)

Mizuirochou: Geez, you'd think they'd keep the passageway clean or something....(shoves some cans out of the way)

Midorichou: One thing to remember about Rockets: They aren't exactly world renowned for cleanliness when it comes to hidden bases like this.

Kochou: So I gathered... (untangles his feet from a mess of wires)

(Some time later, the trio continue down a somewhat cleaner passageway)

Midorichou: You sure this is the right way?

Kochou: I'm sure....

Niji(muffled): Over here, guys!

Mizurirochou: Niji! (the threesome run over to a pile of cans and dig through them until they find Niji buried.) You okay, Niji?

Niji: Yeah, but being squished by a bunch of cans isn't the most fun thing in the world! (she is about to say more when the lights suddenly flash on, blinding the gang!)

Midorichou: Yipe! It's bright! (shields his eyes)

Kage: Well, well, well...if it isn't Beauty-boy and two of his cronies...

Yami: We're going to star alongside Drew in his movie, and you know it!

Kochou: Oh yeah! (grabs Niji and tucks her under his arms) Try and catch us first!

Yami: You're on, Silverhead!

(Kochou begins to sing as he, Mizuirochou, and Midorichou run from the Rockets)

Akaichou: Thank goodness you're safe, Niji!

Niji: I'm fine, you guys...but Drew here may have to put up with the Rocket Trio....

Drew: Huh? (watches as Kage, Yami and Meowth leap from the poster)

Kage: Hey, pretty boy...we could make your movie a real blockbuster!

Yami: Let us star with you, pretty please?

Drew: Okay...since I have two acts which have requested to star with me...let me make a proposal: We'll let each act play one song each...and the act that generates the best crowd raction will star with me.

Kage: It's a deal!

Akaichou: Don't get your hopes up, Rocket trash!

(we fade to the stage, where a crowd has gathered)

Drew: The Rocket Trio will perform first...you may begin when you're ready.

(music begins)

Kage: When you've got it, you've got it!

Yami: When you've made it, parade it!

Kochou(voiceover): Next time, on "Kochou and the Beautiflies"...

(we see the band's bus pull up before a movie studio backlot)

Kochou(voiceover): We've arrived on the set of Galaxy Dreamer, but things are behaving a little screwy on the set. (we see Drew and Akaichou preparing to shoot a take) Could the Rockets have followed us to the set to have their revenge for us beating them? (we see Kage, Yami, and Meowth watching from backstage) I sure hope not, but see for yourselves next time!

(an instrumental of "Only the Beginning" plays as the word "Previously" appears onscreen)


Niji(voiceover): Previously, on "Kochou and the Beautiflies"...

(we see the band performing from the previous episode)

Niji(voiceover): After Kochou and the gang discovered I was missing, the band put out a plea for help in the form of another hit song! Thankfully, a little girl saw me fly into the passageway, so she told Kochou where to find me. (we see the girl talking to Kochou) After some wading through the mess and traps in the Rocket's base, (we see Kochou, Midorichou, and Mizuirochou climbing through the mess) Kochou found the pile of cans I was hiding under... (we see Kochou digging through the cans) But the Rockets found us! (we see Kochou and co. fleeing. Kochou has Niji tucked in his arms.) We thought we had escaped when they challenged us for the right to star alongside Drew! (we see the Rockets performing, followed by Kochou and the gang performing.) We showed them we were the better band in the end. (we see Kochou waving to the crowd)

And now, we're on our way to our big screen debut! Look out, Hollywood--the Beautiflies are coming!

(upbeat music begins as we see the title)

Episode 6: Movie Madness!

(we see a purple and silver van on the highway, followed by a few trucks)

(we look inside the van to see Delia driving, with Misty alongside her with the map. Ash, Brock, Crystal, Whitney, and Niji are in the back seat. Crystal is slumped in her seat, bored; Whitney is looking outside; Ash is playing on a blue Game Boy Advance, the game noises indicate that he is playing Pokemon Emerald; and Brock is reading a comic book)

Crystal: Are we there yet?

Delia: Not yet...the movie studio's another eight hours away...

Crystal and Whitney: EIGHT HOURS!!!!!!!!!!

Whitney: No wonder we left the house so early...

Niji: I wouldn't complain, Crystal...do you wanna blow your chance at movie stardom because you can't stand riding in a car for eight hours?

Crystal: No, but it's such a LONG time...

Brock: If you're bored, we can always sing a song! (he starts drumming on the window) I know a song that gets on everybody's nerves, everybody's nerves, everybody's nerves; I know a song that gets on everybody's nerves, and this is how it goes...

May(singing along with Brock): I know a song that gets on everybody's nerves, everybody's nerves, everybody's nerves; I know a song that gets on everybody's nerves, and this is how it goes...

(As everyone begins to join in the song, Misty's face starts to get angrier...and angrier...and angrier...)

Misty: Will you guys PLEASE sing something else? That song's getting on my nerves! (everyone giggles at this)

(Two hours or so later, the situation inside the van still hasn't changed.)

Whitney: NOW how much further?

Delia: We still have six hours to go....we're going through some heavy traffic now, so I'd appriciate it if you guys would quiet down for a while.

Whitney: Okay...(slumps down in her seat)

(Brock looks at Ash, who is still engrossed in his game, and makes a funny face)

Ash: Ha, ha... (makes a face at Brock. Brock stifles a giggle, which breaks through when Crystal makes a face)

Crystal: Hee, hee...(whispers) Stop it, you heard Delia!

(Whitney makes a face at Brock)

Brock: Gbttth! (whispers) We're gonna get in trouble!

(Ash makes a face at Niji, who bursts out laughing)

Crystal: Shhh! (stifles laughter as Niji makes a face. Before long everyone; bar Delia and Misty, are making silly faces and laughing)

Misty: GUYS!!!! I THOUGHT DELIA SAID SHE WANTED IT QUIET!!!!

Ash: We were having a funny face contest, but we're done now.

Brock: You won.

Misty: I hope your faces stick. (everyone laughs again)

(A few hours later, the effects of cabin fever are starting to sink in)

Niji: You know, Drew isn't going to recognize you guys in these forms....we need to find a place to transform.

Kochou(voiceover): Niji was right...we needed to transform before we got to the studio--but how were we going to do it out in the middle of nowhere? Thankfully, Brock came up with the perfect solution...

Brock: Bathroom take on three, okay? (everyone nods) One, two, three! (everyone starts squirming as if they need to go to the bathroom)

Delia: Okay, guys; there's a gas station coming up so you guys can go while I'm filling up the car, okay? (the van and the trucks pull inside the gas station. Ash and the others race for the bathrooms.)

(In the girls' bathroom, May touches the ruby in her ring and claps twice, her shirt lengthens and gains silver buttons. Next, she taps the ring on her shoes, making them turn into red high heels. Upon tapping the ring on her legs, she gains a white skirt with rubies dotting it. Finally, she claps over her head twice, and an electric guitar appears in her hands, as well as her hair turning red.)

Akaichou: Haeru wingu, Akaichou yo!

(We cut to the boy's bathroom, where we see Brock touch the emerald in his ring and clap twice, making his shirt turn silver. Upon touching the jewel to his legs, he gains a pair of emerald studded pants and golden shoes, also studded with emeralds. Next, Brock claps twice over his head, making the rest of his normal clothes become a sparkling green jacket. Finally, he claps twice again, making his hair turn black and forming a pair of drum sticks in one hand.)

Midorichou: Haeru wingu, Midorichou yo!

(Back in the girl's bathroom, Crystal touches the sapphire in her ring and claps twice, making gloves appear on her hands. When the sapphire is tapped on her feet, her shoes become aqua sandals studded with sapphires. Next, Crystal claps over her head, making her slip into a shirt that starts out royal blue at the top, then turns white at the bottom; followed by a aqua skirt. Finally, she claps twice again, and her hair is magically braided, plus a harmonica appears in her hand.)

Mizuirochou: Haeru wingu, Mizuirochou yo!

(Whitney touches the topaz in her ring and claps twice, making her shirt and shorts turn into a short yellow dress. Touching the ring to her shoes turns them into small boots. Clapping over her head makes Whitney's hair turn yellow and put itself up in a ponytail, as well as making a yellow sash and small topazes appear on her costume. Whitney claps again, and lace appears on her costume.)

Ierochou: Haeru wingu, Ierochou yo!

Ash(holds his hand in the air, then sings in a noticeably older sounding voice): Ai-yai-yai, I'm your little Beautifly! (Ash's hand begins to glow) Green, black, and blue; make the colors in the sky!

(MUSIC-"Beautifly" (instrumental))

(We see a glowing outline of Ash's body against the background of Beautifly wings. As Ash hangs in this position, his torso begins to glow purple, and a silver and purple shirt appears on him. Next, a checkered jacket appears over that in a flash of purple. Next, we look at Ash's legs as sparkling black pants appear on his legs in a flash of blue, and silver shoes appear on his feet. The view next shifts to Ash's head, where we see his eyes finally open. His normally black hair begins to lengthen and turn silver. A white rose appears in the right pocket of the jacket, which the young man holds in one hand as he poses for the audience.)

(Music cut)

(Kochou flushes the toliet as he emerges from the boy's bathroom. Midorichou does likewise. Akaichou, Mizuirochou, and Ierochou meet them outside, and the fivesome climb back in the car.)

(On the movie studio backlot, the three Rockets watch the various vehicles come and go)

Yami: Are they ever gonna get here? I wanna give them a piece of my mind!

Kage: I do too, Yami...they just need to get here first.

Meowth: If you two are bored, we can muse on just how appealing we are compared to Kochou...

Yami: Great idea, Meowth! Hmm...how appealing we are compared to Silverhead....

(music begins as we enter a dream sequence)

Kage: It's a total eclipse, the moon's overtakin' the sun! (we see the moon eclipsing the sun as Kage sings)
It's a total eclipse, we're comin' to grips,
You'll be left in the shadows, when I get done!

Kage: I keep growin' bigger each day (we see a rapidly growing figure of Kage)

Yami: Soon I'm gonna outshine the Milky Way! (we see Yami's face in a brightly shining star)

(Suddenly, Meowth spots the van and the trucks approaching)

Meowth: Dere dey are! (He leads Kage and Yami into the soundstage where Galaxy Dreamer is being filmed, just as Drew arrives to meet the band)

Drew: Welcome to the set, Beautiflies...

Akaichou: Wow... (she watches as the crew hurries about, getting ready)

Mizuirochou: It's beautiful! (admires some of the planetary sets)

Drew: Glad you like it. (he motions to a brown haired girl over by the hair and makeup vanity getting her hair done) This is Mina, my costar...my character is in charge of leading her on her journey among the stars...

Midorichou: And why are we on that journey, out of curiosity?

Drew: Mina's character has a star pendant that she's owned ever since she was a baby...and she decides to journey among the stars to find her true family and her home world.

Mina: Here's what it looks like...(shows the gang a glittering star shaped pendant. While fake, the pendant catches the Rockets' eyes.)

Yami: I wish I had a pendant like that...

(Yami's dream sequence-Yami strolls down a runway in a hunter green dress and a similar pendant around her neck)

Meowth: Foget about da look of it--it's gotta be woith millions! (Meowth has credit signs in his eyes) We gotta find a way to distract Kochou so we can take da pendant!

Kage: Okay! Huddle! (the Rockets huddle together, discussing ideas)

(Elsewhere, Drew, Mina, and a male extra pose on the set. Kochou and the band, meanwhile, tune their instruments and warm up, until the director approaches.)

Kochou: Yes?

Director: Okay, Kochou, here's the deal: Initially, we wanted Drew to sing when he sees Mina flirting with this extra here...but we learned that he can't sing at all!

Midorichou: As in so bad, nails on a chalkboard sound better? (does a rim shot to punctuate his own joke. Akaichou and Ierochou roll their eyes)

Director: Yes, that bad...so I want Kochou to dub Drew's singing voice so it'll sound nicer.

Meowth: I'll tell you who Kochou's gonna be kissin'...he'll be kissin' dis show goodbye!

(an instrumental of "When Tomorrow Comes" plays as the word "Next" appears onscreen)

Misty(voiceover): Next time, on "Kochou and the Beautiflies"....

(We see Drew shoving Akaichou out of the way of an explosion)

Misty(voiceover): Those Rockets sure are trying hard to ruin our movie! First they rig the explosions to go off too soon, (we see the Rockets doing that, followed by some explosions) and then they try to interrupt our song by stealing our spotlight! (we see a split screen shot of the Rockets and Kochou singing) I'm surprised security hasn't caught them yet, but for now, we'll have to put up with them! Stay tuned for tomorrow's exciting adventure!

(an instrumental of "Only the Beginning" plays as the word "Previously" appears onscreen)


Niji(voiceover): Previously, on "Kochou and the Beautiflies"...

(we see the band performing from the previous episode)

Niji(voiceover): We've arrived on the set of Galaxy Dreamer, but not without an interesting trip to the studio. Brock tried to get everyone to sing an annoying car song to drive Misty nuts... (we see everyone singing as Misty gets angrier by the moment.) Then we had a funny face contest... (we see everyone making funny faces and laughing) but Misty won that too! (we see Misty snapping at the others)

Things really got interesting on the set, though...While we were doing some overdubbing for one of the movie's songs, we saw that there were a few uninvited guests among us.. (we see the Rockets watching from backstage as Kochou and the band perform) and they'll stop at nothing to ruin our big screen debut!

(upbeat music begins as we see the title)

Me and my friends are Beautiflies!

Kochou: Hey! My name is Kochou!

Exciting adventures, glamour and fame!

Kochou: Now a Beautifly, never the same!

Come on, take flight and fly away now!

Kochou: Hey! My name is Kochou! (Kochou poses with his bandmates, Misty, and Niji before the title, which is lit up like a neon sign)

Episode 7: Rescue with a Bang!

(We open on a section of the backstage area, where we see Kage pacing the floor. Yami and Meowth sit on a trunk nearby)

Kage: Here's the situation, gang: We've got to hijack this movie set somehow, but your ideas of stealing Mina's pendant (we see the star-shaped pendant from the last episode) just isn't gonna cause enough panic.

Yami: What you mean, not enough? They'll be frantically looking for it, (we see chibi versions of Kochou and the crew running around the set) and we'll just sneak in and "borrow" the equipment! (we see a chibi Kage and Yami sneaking out of the backlot with cameras.)

Kage: But what happens once they find the pendant?

Yami: They realize that the cameras disappeared, and we're had...

Kage: Exactly! Therefore, I suggest sabotaging the set somehow. (he holds a film reel in the air, prompting Meowth to dart behind the trunk)

Meowth: I'll just hide in here, tank you..

Kage: Okay... (he wheels a projector out, threads the reel inside, pulls down a screen, and starts the projector. Clips from the episode "Air Time" flash onscreen, which Yami watches, bemused.) Notice what Jessie and James did to sabotage the radio show?

Yami: That's a completely different medium that what we're dealing with!

Kage: I know that, but what happened with the radio here (gestures to the screen) can just as easily be adapted to a TV station or movie set.

Meowth(muffled): How so, Professor Kage? (we see Meowth's thoughts: Kage in a lab coat)

Kage: Notice how these two disguise themselves as radio actors? (gestures to Jessie and James attempting to voice act on the screen) Likewise, we can disguise ourselves as movie stars and sabotage the set from the inside! (turns the projector off)

Meowth: Now why didn't I tink of dat?

Yami: Because you're a fraidy cat!

Meowth: YOU TAKE DAT BACK!!!!!! (he brandishes a claw at Yami. The two begin to fight, making a dust cloud appear. Kage watches, embarrassed)

Kage: This is going to be one long mission...

(Meanwhile, Kochou and the band watch as the director briefs Kochou on the next song the group has to perform.)

Director: Okay, this next number plays as Drew's character struggles with the jealousy he has for his rival... (Before the director can say any more, Kage and Yami enter; disguised as screenwriters. Kage wears a black suit, and Yami a short red dress. Meowth rides on Yami's shoulder, wearing a blue beret.) Yes?

Kage: Pardon me sir, but we've just completed our newest project--

Director: Not now, you two; I'm busy!

Yami: Oh, but it's got all the makings of a blockbuster! (shows the director into an office, slamming the door behind her. Kochou winces when the door slams)

Midorichou: Talk about having stars in your eyes... (does a rim shot to punctuate his joke)

Akaichou: You have a point, Midorichou...I have a feeling those screenwriters aren't what they say they are...

(music begins)

(When Kochou sings the last note of the song, we see the office door open, followed by Kage, Yami, and Meowth flying into the sky with a *ping*)

Mizuirochou: Serves them right to crash our movie...

(Later, Kage, Yami, and Meowth are backstage, where a stunt scene is to be filmed)

Yami: Ooh, look at all this... we could make major noise with some TNT and a detonator! (grabs a detonator, then runs to look for some TNT.)

Kage: Actually...

Yami: Now what? Are you gonna bore me with another "Jessie and James" lecture?

Meowth: Oh no...

Kage: No, look... (he points out some timers on the detonators already in place) These explosives are only timed to go off when someone trips a sensor at the right time...so if we set these to go off early...so long, Silverhead! (we see Kage's thoughts of a scorched Kochou)

Yami: Yeah! (she sets the timers to a different time. Kage runs to the right and does the same to some other detonators. Their handiwork complete, they slip behind some metal cases to watch the mayhem unfold, just as the band, Drew, Mina, and the director enter.)

Director: Okay guys, here's the deal: One of the girls will hang from a cliff about to fall in a raging inferno. Drew runs to save her, triggering some explosions, but making it through unharmed.

Ierochou: You sure he can do this?

Drew: I had some training with stunt people before, so I do all my own stunts in my flicks, unless it's really complicated. Running through explosions is something easy, so I'm not worried. (puts on a fire suit for protection)

Director: Now, which one of you three wants to hang above the ground for a few minutes?

Ierochou: ::gulp::

Mizuirochou: I'm afraid of heights....

Director: You're only hanging above an X of tape, the fire pit will be drawn in later. (Ierochou and Mizuirochou breathe a sigh of relief)

Akaichou: I'll do it!

Director: Okay, come over here, but watch out for the sensors...those trigger the explosions.

Akaichou: Okay! (she starts over toward stage right and is strapped in a harness. Once comfortable, the crew begins to raise Akaichou up over a taped X, but accidentally steps on a sensor, triggering an explosion! Akaichou dangles dangerously close to one of the fires...)

Kochou: AKAICHOU!!!

Akaichou: HEEEEEELLLLLLPPP!!!! (she frantically struggles to get free)

Drew: I've got you! (races through the explosions and rescues Akaichou just seconds before another explosion occurs. Miraculously, both are unharmed.)

Midorichou: Whoa! (leads the applause as Drew leads Akaichou back to her bandmates)

Mizuirochou: You were really brave, there!

Akaichou: I didn't know they were supposed to do that!

Director: They weren't...Drew was supposed to trip the sensors, but they were obviously tampered with! And I want to know who did it!

Yami(offscreen): That would be us!

(everyone gasps as the Rockets rise up from a platform nearby the taped X)

Yami: To protect the world from devastation...

Kage: And unite all peoples within our nation...

Yami: To denounce the evils of truth and love...

Kage: To extend our reach to the stars above...

Yami: Yami!

Kage: Kage!

Yami: Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of light! (we see the background of an R on a movie screen)

Kage: Surrender now, or prepare to fight.

Meowth: Meowth! Dat's right! And we have a message to da Beautiflies!

(electric guitar chord. (we see Kage, Yami, and Meowth on a stage)

Meowth: Congratulations!
You're on your way out!
From here on in, I'll be takin' da lead!

Kage: Congratulations!
You're on your way out!
I'm bound to win, I was born to succeed,

Kage, Yami, and Meowth: Congratulations to us,
Congratulations to us! (Congratulations!)

(Kochou grits his teeth in anger as he listens to the song.)

Yami: Congratulations!
You're on your way down!
I've staked my claim and you're takin' the fall!

Ierochou: Oh yeah? We'll see who takes the fall!

Midorichou: Hit it, Kochou!

Kochou(singing over the Rockets): Close your eyes tonight and wish upon a shooting star!

Ierochou: See it fly into a million points of light!

Akaichou: Every promise, hope, and prayer becomes a jeweled star!

Kochou and others: and I believe deep inside my heart that fate, will lead us on... (Midorichou leads the others into a rock beat, clearly overpowering the Rockets, but the Rockets try to one up Kochou.)

Kage: Congratulations!
You gave up the crown!
You've lost the game and it's winner take all!

Kage, Yami, and Meowth: Congratulations to us,
Congratulations to us! (Congratulations)

Kochou: I've broken free from a cold wave of doubt...
Yet I don't know why I'm crying...

Yami: You don't stand a chance

Meowth: Take a backwards glance,

Kochou: And so I turn, looking away from everyone,
Silently, I vanish in the night air...

(We see Kochou and the gang at a movie theater)

Akaichou(voiceover): We finally finish filming our movie, and we're all set to premiere it! But, the Rockets have a movie of their own up their sleeves, and they really want people to watch it! (we see Kage and Yami taping up their own movie posters on top of Galaxy Dreamer posters.) Strangely enough, they even hold their movie premiere on the same night we premiere our movie! But I'm not worried, cause I know ours is way better than their sorry production! (we see people leaving the Rocket premiere, followed by Kochou singing) But will ours hold up? Stay tuned!

(An instrumental of "Only the Beginning" plays in the background as the word "Previously" appears on the screen)

(We see Kage and Yami shoving the director into an office.)

Niji: Those Rockets are sure trying hard to spoil our big screen debut! First they tried to convince the director to let them make their own little production... (we see Kage and Yami in disguise again) and then they rigged the detonators for a stunt to go off at the wrong time, which put Akaichou in danger! (we see Akaichou dangling over some fires) Drew was brave enough to save Akaichou (we see Drew rescuing Akaichou), but the Rockets didn't stop there--they tried to taunt us, (we see the Rockets performing) but we sang right back at them! (we see Kochou singing over the Rockets)

Our movie's almost ready--I can't wait for our big debut!

(upbeat music begins as we see the title)

Episode 8: Premiere Panic!

(We see various shots of Kochou, Drew, Mina, and the crew filming....when we catch up to the band, they're relaxing in their trailer. Kochou lies on a cot, snoozing; Akaichou looks out on the backlot, Niji on her shoulder. Midorichou is sitting on the couch, watching TV; and Mizuirochou is in the kitchen, making popcorn. Ierochou enters the room, a yellow towel wrapped around her hair and a second towel wrapped around her body)

Ierochou: Ah...nothing like a shower after a long day on the set! (she steps behind a screen to dress in something more comfortable.)

Midorichou: I'm sure it felt good--at least the Rockets didn't bug us anymore today.

Akaichou: I'd love to rig them above some explosions and see how THEY feel!

(We see the Rockets rigged above some explosions for a moment...just then, a knock is heard on the trailer door, snapping Akaichou from her dream sequence and waking Kochou.)

Kochou: I wonder who that could be? (he starts towards the door, but Niji flies to the peephole and looks outside)

Niji: It's only Misty, guys!

Mizuirochou: Misty?

Ierochou(from behind the screen): What's she doing here? (emerges from the screen in a yellow bathrobe as Kochou lets Misty in)

Misty: I came because I heard the premiere of Galaxy Dreamer's in a few days, and I was planning on being there with you guys.

Kochou: Well, thank you! (he hugs Misty)

Misty: The house is fine, and Delia's psyched you're going to be in a movie...you know she loves you guys!

(Kochou is about to answer when another knock is heard at the door. He gets up to see Drew and Mina at the door.)

Kochou: Drew, Mina? What brings you guys here at this hour?

Mina: The crew's missing a few movie cameras, and wants to know if you guys have seen them anywhere...

Kochou: Nope...

Midorichou: Last time I checked, they were in the storage area, where they belonged.

Drew: Strange...they couldn't have grown legs and walked away...

(we cut to a forested area just outside the backlot, where Kage, Yami, and Meowth are trudging through the underbrush with some movie cameras.)

Meowth: Ya know, Kage? Swipin' dese movie cameras was a great idea!

Kage: Exactly...we can film our own movie while Silverhead and his pals run around looking for them!

Yami: Flat spot up ahead! (she runs ahead to a clearing, which almost looks like a plain. Kage and Meowth follow and set up the cameras)

(Later, Meowth is in a director's chair, overlooking the makeshift soundstage. Kage and Yami, playing the role of explorers, await instructions)

Meowth: "Da Rocket's Treasure", take 1! (claps a clapboard. Kage and Yami trudge around, until Kage winces)

Kage: That was my foot you stepped on!

Yami: Sorry...

(we blip to Meowth holding the clapboard again)

Meowth: "Da Rocket's Treasure", take 7! (claps the clapboard. Kage and Yami start walking, until Yami realizes that an Ekans decided to nap on her leg. She screams and tries to shake the Ekans off.)

(we blip to show Meowth with the clapboard again)

Meowth: "Da Rocket's Treasure", take 39! (claps the clapboard)

(Kage and Yami start walking, until Kage trips and falls, taking Yami with him! Meowth sighs as his comrades struggle to get up)

Meowth: We'll never finish filming at dis rate...

(Kochou speaks as we return to the backlot.)

Kochou(voiceover): We looked all over the set for the missing cameras, but didn't find them. (we see Kochou and the others searching.) Fortunately for us, we had some spares handy; so filming continued on schedule. (we see Kochou, Drew and Mina filming.) Before long, filming was done, and we offered to play for the crew to celebrate. (we see Kochou and the crew on a stage with their instruments.) The trouble began just minutes before we started....

(Akaichou hears a knock at the soundstage door. The director opens it to see the Rockets at the door disguised as film distributors)

Director: Not you guys again...

Drew: Hear this, Rockets!

(music begins)

Kochou: Beat this, if you can!
Or are you just an also-ran?
I ain't no loser that you can dismiss!

Kochou and others: Beat this!
Beat this!
Beat this!!!

Kochou: Beat this, go and try!
If you can't, then wave goodbye!
This is my moment, my turn at bat!

Kochou and others: Beat this!

Kochou: Beat that!

Kochou and others: Beat this!!!

Kochou: You think you're really somethin', don't ya?
You think you've got it won, don't ya?
Well, I've got news,
I ain't about to lose!

Beat this, do your best!
And if you can't, may I suggest
You throw your hat in, and blow a kiss!

Kochou and others: Beat this!

Kochou: And then if you can,

Kochou and others: Beat this!
Beat this!!! (the crew applauds as the Rockets flee}

(Meanwhile, the Rockets flee back into the forest, their reel and posters in tow)

Kage: So much for the direct approach...

Yami: We need something to make our movie appealing to the masses....

Meowth: Hey, know what?

(Kage and Yami stop running, piqued by Meowth's proposal)

Meowth: Maybe if we taped our posters over da ones advertising Beauty-boy's movie, more people will come see ours!

Yami: Great idea! (she runs back out to the backlot and tapes up a few posters. Kage follows by taping up a few on a telephone pole...)

(On a streetcorner, Yami helps Meowth tape some posters up in some store windows, Kage rigs a marquee to say "Movie premiere tonite: 'The Rocket's Treasure'")

(We see several more shots of the Rockets taping up posters, changing marquees, and doing anything they can to get the word out)

(Hours later, Yami puts up the last poster)

Yami: There...that's the last one!

Meowth: I know what else we can do to get da woid out about our flick!

Kage and Yami: What?

Meowth: Record da title song as a single... (gestures to a recording studio nearby...)

Yami: Ooh, make it about me!

Kage: I can arrange that!

(music begins)

Kage: There's an animal on the loose,
She's a creature on the prowl... (we see Yami slinking about in a feline position)

And she's gettin' ready to howl!

Yami: Ow!

Kage and Meowth: Welcome to the jungle! (Welcome to the jungle)

Meowth: She don't care!
She ain't da type to play it fair!

Kage: There is danger in her eyes (we see a pair of glowing green eyes, presumably Yami's)
As she moves in on her prey, (we see Yami sneaking up on a Beautifly)
There is danger in her eyes,
The smart keep out of her way! (we see people clearing a path for Yami to pass through)

Yami: Ow!

Kage and Meowth: Welcome to the jungle! (Welcome to the jungle)
Welcome to the jungle! (Welcome to the jungle)

Meowth: Watch your back!
At any second, she'll attack! (Yami springs at the screen, at the point of impact the screen goes black for a few seconds)
Welcome to da jungle!

Kage: If you see her smile, (we see Yami's smiling face)
Better run because
In a little while,
She'll reveal her claws! (Yami displays her fingers to the audience, which now have claws on them)

Yami: Ow!

Kage and Meowth: Welcome to the jungle! (Welcome to the jungle)
Welcome to the jungle! (Welcome to the jungle)

(The Rockets laugh as Kage triumphantly holds up a CD)

Kage: Here it is!

Yami: It'll be a hit for sure!

(We fade to the scene of a theater, where Drew is pacing the stage)

Drew: Where IS everybody? We're due to roll in 10 minutes!

Midorichou: If I had to bet anything, everyone's at the Rocket's premiere....

(Sure enough, in another theater, the Rockets prepare to roll for a packed house)

Yami: And now, we proudly present..."The Rocket's Treasure"! (starts the projector)

(the lights dim and the opening credits roll. At first the audience is bemused, but as the film goes on, people begin to leave...)

Kage: Wait!

Meowth: It's...not...even...half...over...

(back in the other theater, Ierochou smiles as people come pouring inside)

Ierochou: See, Drew? I told you they would come after they saw the Rockets' lousy movie!

Drew: Never mind that, let's get rolling!

Midorichou: Rolling! (starts the projector)

(the lights dim as the opening credits roll. The audience mumbles contentedly at first, then begins to cheer, until the applause reaches a standing ovation at the movie's end)

Drew: Thank you! (he bows)

Mina: We'd especially like to thank Kochou and the Beautiflies for starring with us! (more cheers as the lights come up on Kochou and the gang with their instruments. Kochou bows to the audience.)

Drew: Anything you'd like to say before you play, Kochou?

Kochou: Well, first of all...it was a great pleasure working with everyone, rough spots and all. (mild laughter) We were originally going to play a different song tonight, but we decided to play the title song to Galaxy Dreamer as a thank you to Drew, Mina, and the crew. (applause) So here it is..."My Sweet Heart" (applause)

(music begins)

Midorichou(voiceover): Next time, on 'Kochou and the Beautiflies"...

(we see children clamboring around Kochou)

Midorichou(voiceover): We decide to do a gig for charity, and the best part involves giving a concert! (we see Kochou and the gang performing for the children.) It's great that these children are getting a chance to hear us that they otherwise wouldn't get. But things take a sobering turn when certain Rockets try and make off with the telethon donations! (we see Kage and Yami sneaking off with money bags) Can we get them back and save the benefit? Stay tuned!

Niji(voiceover): Previously, on "Kochou and the Beautiflies..."

(We see a crowd cheering in a theater)

Niji(voiceover): Our movie is finished, but the Rockets try to film a production of their own! (we see the Rockets trying to film) Then, they try to generate buzz about it by muting the buzz about our movie! (we see Kage and Yami taping up their own posters) The critics knew better though! (we see people leaving the Rocket's premiere) They rated our production two thumbs up, and as thanks, Kochou decided to perform the title song, making a truly memorable evening for all involved. Today though, we're going to play a gig for the children's hospital--even a band needs to do a little community service!

(upbeat music begins as we see the title)

Kochou: Hey! My name is Kochou! (Kochou poses with his bandmates, Misty, and Niji before the title, which is lit up like a neon sign)

Episode 9: Sing for the Children

(We look in on the gang's mansion, where Misty is on the phone, apparently scheduling another gig. Ash stands nearby as Misty writes down the details on a notepad.)

Misty(on the phone): Mm-hmm...yeah, I'm sure the kids would love meeting Kochou and the band! Yeah....oh, tomorrow would be great! Okay, gather all the kids in the activity center tomorrow morning and we'll be there. Okay, bye. (hangs up)

Ash: Who was it?

Misty: That was the children's hospital...they're in the middle of their annual fund-raising telethon and want to know if Kochou and the Beautiflies would like to perform both for the kids and during the telethon itself.

Ash: That sounds nice, but I'll go ask Niji first and see what she says. (he starts off down the hall, rounds a corner, and enters the band's lounge, where the others are relaxing. May and Crystal are playing checkers, Brock is watching the news on TV, and Whitney sits on the couch, reading.) Guys?

May: Yeah?

Ash: Have you seen Niji anywhere? I've gotta ask her something....

Brock: Like?

Ash: Like we have a new gig...

Brock: Great! I've been yearning for a new gig for the last few days.

May: We finished the movie two weeks ago, and you're still yearning for a gig?

Brock: It beats being bored here! (As Brock is talking, Niji emerges from a basket of clothes by the couch) Oh! Didn't see you, Niji...

Niji: You guys could stand to remove the hair from your clothes before putting them in the laundry... (shakes off some hairballs)

Ash: Niji...

Niji: Hm?

Ash: I overheard Misty say that the children's hospital wants us to perform...

Niji: A new gig, huh?

Ash: Yeah, and it's for a good cause!

Niji: Doing gigs like this prevents the fame from going to your head, I think...so when's the gig?

Ash: We're supposed to be there early tomorrow morning...

Niji: Then lets get practicing!

(the gang races to their instruments and start tuning up...)

May: Should we transform or not?

Niji: Not now, save the transforming for in the morning. (listens as the gang begins a light pop beat)

(the scene fades to the van and the trucks pulling before the hospital. A crowd of kids and a TV crew are present as Ash and the gang slip from the car and tiptoe into the hospital from the back way, where they hide in a closet.)

Whitney: At least we dodged the papparazzi...it's showtime, Beautiflies!

(May touches the ruby in her ring and claps twice, her shirt lengthens and gains silver buttons. Next, she taps the ring on her shoes, making them turn into red high heels. Upon tapping the ring on her legs, she gains a white skirt with rubies dotting it. Finally, she claps over her head twice, and an electric guitar appears in her hands, as well as her hair turning red.)

Akaichou: Haeru wingu, Akaichou yo!

(Brock touches the emerald in his ring and claps twice, making his shirt turn silver. Upon touching the jewel to his legs, he gains a pair of emerald studded pants and golden shoes, also studded with emeralds. Next, Brock claps twice over his head, making the rest of his normal clothes become a sparkling green jacket. Finally, he claps twice again, making his hair turn black and forming a pair of drum sticks in one hand.)

Midorichou: Haeru wingu, Midorichou yo!

(Crystal touches the sapphire in her ring and claps twice, making glaves appear on her hands. When the sapphire is tapped on her feet, her shoes become aqua sandals studded with sapphires. Next, Crystal claps over her head, making her slip into a shirt that starts out royal blue at the top, then turns white at the bottom; followed by a aqua skirt. Finally, she claps twice again, and her hair is magically braided, plus a harmonica appears in her hand.)

Mizuirochou: Haeru wingu, Mizuirochou yo!

(Whitney touches the topaz in her ring and claps twice, making her shirt and shorts turn into a short yellow dress. Touching the ring to her shoes turns them into small boots. Clapping over her head makes Whitney's hair turn yellow and put itself up in a ponytail, as well as making a yellow sash and small topazes appear on her costume. Whitney claps again, and lace appears on her costume.)

Ierochou: Haeru wingu, Ierochou yo!

Ash(holds his hand in the air, then sings in a noticeably older sounding voice): Ai-yai-yai, I'm your little Beautifly! (Ash's hand begins to glow) Green, black, and blue; make the colors in the sky!

(MUSIC-"Beautifly" (instrumental))

(We see a glowing outline of Ash's body against the background of Beautifly wings. As Ash hangs in this position, his torso begins to glow purple, and a silver and purple shirt appears on him. Next, a checkered jacket appears over that in a flash of purple. Next, we look at Ash's legs as sparkling black pants appear on his legs in a flash of blue, and silver shoes appear on his feet. The view next shifts to Ash's head, where we see his eyes finally open. His normally black hair begins to lengthen and turn silver. A white rose appears in the right pocket of the jacket, which the young man holds in one hand as he poses for the audience.)

(Music cut)

(Kochou speaks as he leads his bandmates outside, where the TV crews are waiting.)

Kochou(voiceover): As I stepped outside to address the crowd that morning, I felt a bit proud and sad at the same time--for some of these kids, they wouldn't be lucky enough to heal and come home, so our coming would be at least something to brighten their day, even if it would be the only time for some of them. (Kochou steps up to the mic to take questions from the crowd)

Kochou: First of all, it's a great pleasure to help at the telethon this year...

(in an alcove not far from the press conference, Kage, Yami, and Meowth watch as Kochou answers a reporter's question. The scene of Kochou talking is "framed" in Yami's hands.)

Yami: And here's Silverhead talking to the press, unaware that he's about to meet his costars, the Rockets! (an "R" is quickly inserted next to Kochou for a few seconds...)

Kage: Calm yourself, Yami...we need to find a way to get to where the hospital's holding all the telethon donations, steal a bit...

Yami: Money? We'll be rich! (we see Yami "swimming" in money...)

Meowth: Or here's a better idea, Nincadas: we steal da money, then put it with Kochou! (we see the Rockets dumping some money next to Kochou.) Dat way, everyone will tink Kochou took da money!

Yami: Meowth, you're a genius!

Kage: But we first need to figure out where the money is before we steal it...(the Rockets huddle together to plot...)

(Inside the hospital, Nurse Joy leads Kochou and the band into the recreation area, where a crowd of children has gathered to see their favorite stars.)

Nurse Joy: Boys and girls, we have a very special treat for you today...

(Nurse Joy is cut off by some children screaming "Haeru wingu, Beautifly!" as Kochou and the band take their places on a stage.)

Nurse Joy: Please give a big hand for Kochou and the Beautiflies! (the kids cheer as the lights come up on Kochou and the band playing)

Kochou: If there's somethin' that you hunger for and you need to satisfy your appetite, I can do that for you!

Akaichou: If you need a little sunshine in your life, I will be your ray of light! I can do that for you!

Midorichou: When you need that something special only I can provide, just call my name, I'll be right by your side!

Kochou and others: I can do that for you! I can do that!

Kochou: Anything you need, I'll come runnin'!

Kochou: Just call my number and you'll see me comin'!

(We see scenes of Kochou signing autographs, Akaichou drawing a picture with a girl, Midorichou showing a boy a magic trick, Mizuirochou reading a story to a group of kids, and Ierochou helping a boy with a puzzle. Kochou speaks as the scenes cycle.)

Kochou(voiceover): All in all, we had a wonderful time at the hospital that morning, but the kids probably enjoyed it more than we did. (Akaichou and the girl show Nurse Joy their completed masterpiece: stick figures of the band performing. Kochou is nearby, talking to some children and signing posters and CDs) At least it was for a good cause, and it was probably a welcome break from doctors, medicine, and treatment for many of them. (the boy watches, mystified, as Midorichou makes a card disappear) Even the parents were thanking us! (a mother hands Mizuirochou another book. The kids clambor for another story, so Mizuirochou begins reading again. Ierochou, meanwhile, applauds as the boy places the last puzzle piece.) Before long, it was time for the main event: the telethon.

(the scene changes to show Kochou and the band tuning as Nurse Joy and Ben, a KNTO DJ, address the TV cameras. Volunteers are answering phones in the background, and the total amount of money raised is depicted on an LCD monitor, which updates with each new pledge)

Nurse Joy: Thanks for joining us tonight! Without your donations, Pallet Hospital can't continue giving hope and life to kids all over Kanto and the world! So make your call now, and make a difference!

Ben: Kochou and the Beautiflies have joined us tonight for some musical entertainment, and I think...(Ben pauses as he negotitates with Kochou off camera) They're ready to give us a song, so let's hear it!

(applause as the lights come up on Kochou and the band)

Kochou: People say the world is in terrible shape!

Or cut through all the red tape...

(As the song ends, we see the Rockets stepping into a vault, where various coins are being stored.)

Kage: Here it is...the vault where all the donations are stored.

Yami: Oh boy! (jumps into the coins)

Kage: Before you get too excited.... (he gives Yami a money bag) stuff as much of the money as you can fit in here. When it's full, toss it onto this platform and I'll give you another bag to fill.

Meowth: I hope you remembered to pack a lot, Kage....

Kage: I made sure we had enough to clean out the vault! (he watches as Yami and Meowth start filling bags....)

(An hour or so later, Yami and Meowth continue to fill bags, but they're nowhere close to being done! Yami is still scooping coins in with enthusiasm, but Meowth is getting tired)

Meowth: Kage....

Kage: Yeah? (delivers an empty bag to Yami)

Meowth: Can I take care of da bags for a while? My paws are tired... (collapses in a pile of coins....and unknowingly trips the security alarm, startling Yami!)

Yami: Oh no!

Kage: Nice going, Meowth! Now we're in major trouble!

Meowth: I had no idea da alarm was right dere!

Yami: Quit arguing and run for it! (the Rockets start to flee the vault...only to come face to face with Kochou, Nurse Joy and some volunteers) Uh oh....

Kochou: Leaving so soon?

Nurse Joy: Trying to steal the donations isn't very nice! Give them back!

Yami: Make us! (clutches a money bag close)

(Kochou whistles, and Pikachu skitters up to where Kage, Yami, and Meowth are huddled)

Kage: I have a bad feeling about this....

Pikachu: CHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!! (unleashes a Thunderbolt in the vault, sending Kage, Yami, and Meowth flying and bursting the money bags open, returning the vault to its original level)

Yami: We forgot the money....

Kage: Our heist, busted...as Jessie and James always said....

Kage and Yami: It's our turn to blast off agaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaainnnnn!!!!!!!!! *ping*

Nurse Joy: Good thinking, Kochou...that sounds like something Ash would do.

Kochou: Don't tell him I borrowed it! (laughter) Come on, let's get back to fundraising...(leads the way back to the telethon set)

(music begins as the lights come up on Kochou and the band again)

Kochou: I wake up and hear somebody call my name...that special voice, I remember

Mizuirochou(voiceover): Our tour takes us to Fuschia City, where we're asked to perform for Koga, the Gym Leader! (we se a shot of the band playing. Koga listens intently in the background.) But the Rockets steal our jewelry, so we can't become our idol selves! (we see Ash trying and failing to transform) It's gonna be a wild chase all over the city, but I'd do anything to get my ring back! (we see various scenes of the gang chasing the Rockets) Will we get our stuff back in time? Stay tuned!

(an instrumental of "Only the Beginning" plays as the word 'Previously' appears onscreen)

Niji(voiceover): Previously, on "Kochou and the Beautiflies"...

(we see Kochou signing autographs for a crowd of children)

We gladly accepted, knowing it would be a welcome break from doctors, medicine, and treatment for a lot of the kids. (we see Kochou singing for the kids.) The trouble started when Kage and Yami tried to steal all the donations! (we see Kage, Yami, and Meowth scooping coins into bags.) Thankfully, Kochou told Pikachu to make them blast off! (we see Pikachu shocking the Rockets)

Today we're off to Fuschia City, unaware that our jewelry is about to be swiped!

Episode 10: Kung Foe Fighting

(We see the van pull into a hotel somewhere in Fuschia City. Ash and the gang climb from the car and stretch in the light of a streetlight.)

Ash: I am SO glad to be out of the car!

Whitney: I'll say... (she stretches)

Crystal: Say Misty, what happened to the gear trucks?

Misty: I told them to go on to Fuschia Auditorium and set up for tomorrow afternoon...

Brock: No wonder we lost them around the Fuschia Turnpike...but I'm ready to rest after being cramped in the car. (he stretches. Niji sighs as she watches traffic speed by)

Niji: Of course you guys are cramped and tired; you've been on the road since this morning.

Ash: And so many games of "Spot the Car" didn't help...

Brock: Weren't you the one that suggested we play "Spot the Car" to begin with?...

flashback-the van and the trucks are traveling down a road. Ash and Whitney are playing cards, Brock's playing "Pokemon Mysterious Dungeon Blue" on a black DS, and Crystal's slumped in her seat, bored.

Crystal: Are we even remotely near Fuschia City yet?

Delia: Well, if you're bored, we can always play...

Ash(excited): "Spot the Car"? 'Spot the Car"?

Delia: You got it, Ash; "Spot the Car".

Ash: YAY! (he quickly glances out his window as the scene fades)

Ash: Yeah, I did... (he's about to say more when Misty returns with the key to their room)

Misty: Okay gang, we have our rooms.... (everyone rushes inside)

(Inside the hotel room, the boys are already in bed. The girls finish changing and climb into the other bed.)

Niji: Don't forget to take your jewelry off before you go to bed, guys.

Ash: Okay. (takes his pendant off and sets it on the nightstand. Brock sets his ring nearby) Night, Niji...

Crystal: 'Night, Niji... (turns her light off after setting her ring next to Whitney's. May is on a third bed, getting ready to sleep.)

Niji: Night, everyone... (she flies over to the hat stand and perches on the hightest rung)

(the screen goes black for a moment and the scene is silent...until a snore breaks the calm!)

(Ash turns his light on, annoyed at Brock's snoring.)

Brock: Sorry... (he yawns and changes positions. Ash turns the light back off)

(Outside, Kage and Yami look inside from the hotel's balcony.)

Kage: This is were they're staying...now, the plan, Meowth?

Meowth: First we open da sliding door...den we look for the jewels dat give da Beautiflies their power, swipe'em, replace'em with normal ol' jewelry, and be on our way!

Kage: Okay...careful, guys; and keep quiet! (Yami nods as she opens the sliding door and climbs in, flicking on a flashlight once inside. Kage and Meowth follow, with Kage shutting the door behind him. Yami tiptoes to the nightstand next to the bed Crystal and Whitney are in and takes their rings. Kage takes Brock's ring and Ash's pendant, and Meowth swipes May's ring. Once all the magical jewelry is gone, Meowth replaces the stolen jewels with normal jewels that look exactly like them. Their handiwork complete, they escape out the same way they came in...seconds before Ash wakes up!)

Ash: Guys...did you hear someone climb in here?

Crystal: Huh? (she turns the light on) What is it, Ash?

Ash: I have a bad feeling someone took our jewelry...

Brock: Don't be silly, they're right here! (gestures to the normal emerald ring, which he puts on.) and the magic still works! (touches the emerald and claps twice, but nothing happens.) Huh? (touches the emerald again and claps twice, but nothing happens.) Uh oh...

May: Mine's gone too! (touches the ruby and claps twice, but nothing happens)

Niji: Was it just you guys? Ash, try to transform!

Ash: Right! (puts on the normal pendant and holds up a hand, singing in a noticeably older voice) Ai-yai-yai; I'm your little Beautifly! Green, black and blue, make the colors in the sky! (nothing happens). NOW how are we supposed to become Kochou and the Beautiflies?

Niji: Wait! (she notices the Rockets heading down the fire escape) Since Ash can still sing as Kochou, why doesn't he try singing as Kochou to fool the Rockets while the rest of us get ready?

Ash: Yeah! (opens the sliding door, getting the Rocket's attention)

Kage: Sing all you like, Hat-boy, but you can't become Kochou! (twirls the real pendant around a finger)

Ash: Oh yeah?

(music begins)

Brock: Going somewhere?

Yami: If you want your jewels back, you'll have to catch us first!

May: You've got youself a deal! (the gang takes off after the Rockets as music begins)

Kage: You can't catch me, however you try,
I'm always one step in front! (yeah) (Kage trips Crystal as the Rockets start pulling away)

Yami: You can't catch me, you wanna know why?
Baby, I'm gonna be blunt!

Below me, in every single way! (Whitney reaches to grab the bag with the jewels, but Yami yanks it away as both parties dart across the street and wind through the traffic)

(dance break-The Rockets try to lose the gang as they wind through the different shops in the Fuschia Market, with both sides coming out piled high with merchandise)

Kage: You can't catch me, you're wastin' your time!

I'm gonna slip by you somehow! (Kage narrowly slips by Ash as he sings this line)

Yami: You may think I'm cornered, but babe, I guarantee

Kage, Yami, and Meowth: You can't catch me! (You can't catch me)

Brock: Oh yes, we can! (throws himself onto Kage, making him fall. Kage is stunned by Brock's attack, making him drop the bag of jewelry, which spills everywhere. A dust cloud forms as the other Beautiflies leap into the melee.)

(Ash crawls out of the dust cloud reasonably unharmed, save for mussed up hair, a few splotches on his clothing, various scrapes on him, and his cap sitting askew on his head. He spots a girl with long black hair looking at the jewelry Kage dropped.)

Ash: Who're you?

Girl: My name's Janine, daughter of Master Koga...Father was looking foward to having Kochou and the Beautiflies perform in the morning, and I wanted to see them too...

Ash: Well, these Rockets the others are trying to subdue (motions to the dust cloud rolling around nearby.) stole their jewelry, and we're trying to get them back!

(A few minutes later, the dust cloud clears, and we see Kage, Yami, and Meowth fit to be tied in several sashes. The other Beautiflies join Ash and Janine, all battered to verious degrees)

May: The jewelry!

Janine: You can't return to the hotel like this! The band will worry about what happened to you! Come, rest at the Gym...then deliver the rings and the pendant to Kochou in the morning.

Ash: Okay...(follows Janine to the Gym....)

(Later, Niji flies through an open window into the room where Ash and co. are resting. She lands by Ash...and is shocked to see bandages all over him and the others!)

Niji: What happened to you?

Ash: Long story...at least we got our rings and my pendant back. (shows Niji the magical jewelry)

Niji: Then we shouldn't be wasting time! You know we have to rehearse in the morning....

Ash: I know. (sets his pendant aside, then delivers the rings to their owners)

(The starry night outside soon turns into a sunrise. Ash nudges Niji in his sleep, waking her.)

Ash: Niji...

Niji: Hmm?

Ash: Should we transform now, or wait until we get there?

Niji: Do it now, Koga and our fans are waiting for us!

Ash: What about Misty?

Niji: She's waiting too!

May: Let's try this again... (she touches the ruby in her ring and claps twice, her shirt lengthens and gains silver buttons. Next, she taps the ring on her shoes, making them turn into red high heels. Upon tapping the ring on her legs, she gains a white skirt with rubies dotting it. Finally, she claps over her head twice, and an electric guitar appears in her hands, as well as her hair turning red.)

Akaichou: Haeru wingu, Akaichou yo!

(Brock touches the emerald in his ring and claps twice, making his shirt turn silver. Upon touching the jewel to his legs, he gains a pair of emerald studded pants and golden shoes, also studded with emeralds. Next, Brock claps twice over his head, making the rest of his normal clothes become a sparkling green jacket. Finally, he claps twice again, making his hair turn black and forming a pair of drum sticks in one hand.)

Midorichou: Haeru wingu, Midorichou yo!

(Crystal touches the sapphire in her ring and claps twice, making gloves appear on her hands. When the sapphire is tapped on her feet, her shoes become aqua sandals studded with sapphires. Next, Crystal claps over her head, making her slip into a shirt that starts out royal blue at the top, then turns white at the bottom; followed by a aqua skirt. Finally, she claps twice again, and her hair is magically braided, plus a harmonica appears in her hand.)

Mizuirochou: Haeru wingu, Mizuirochou yo!

(Whitney touches the topaz in her ring and claps twice, making her shirt and shorts turn into a short yellow dress. Touching the ring to her shoes turns them into small boots. Clapping over her head makes Whitney's hair turn yellow and put itself up in a ponytail, as well as making a yellow sash and small topazes appear on her costume. Whitney claps again, and lace appears on her costume.)

Ierochou: Haeru wingu, Ierochou yo!

Ash(holds his hand in the air, then sings in a noticeably older sounding voice): Ai-yai-yai, I'm your little Beautifly! (Ash's hand begins to glow) Green, black, and blue; make the colors in the sky!

(MUSIC-"Beautifly" (instrumental))

(We see a glowing outline of Ash's body against the background of Beautifly wings. As Ash hangs in this position, his torso begins to glow purple, and a silver and purple shirt appears on him. Next, a checkered jacket appears over that in a flash of purple. Next, we look at Ash's legs as sparkling black pants appear on his legs in a flash of blue, and silver shoes appear on his feet. The view next shifts to Ash's head, where we see his eyes finally open. His normally black hair begins to lengthen and turn silver. A white rose appears in the right pocket of the jacket, which the young man holds in one hand as he poses for the audience.)

(Music cut)

Niji: Let's go, Beautiflies! (Kochou and the gang follow Niji out the door)

(Later, we see the band playing before a packed house in Fuschia Auditorium. Koga and Janine have the best view--balcony seats in the center. We see that Koga has a smile on his face, showing that he is clearly enjoying the performance.)

Kochou spots Janine in the audience as he concludes a song, and gets an idea...)

Kochou: This one's going out to Master Koga and Janine...as thanks for their hospitality. (the crowd roars as Janine smiles with excitement.)

(music begins)

(we see Kochou and the gang skiing)

Ierochou(voiceover): We hit the slopes at Mt. Silver when we're asked to dedicate a resort! (we see Kochou cutting a ribbon) The Rockets, meanwhile, wanna be sure the resort is theirs, but I dunno why... (we see Kochou and Yami racing each other) Things also take a scary turn when Kochou gets lost in a cave! (we see Kochou lost in a cave.) Can we find him in time for the concert? I sure hope so, cause I sense a little love in the air... (we see Kochou singing to Misty)

(An instrumental of "Only the Beginning" plays as the word "Previously..." appears onscreen)

Niji(voiceover): Previously, on "Kochou and the Beautiflies"...

(We see Ash trying and failing to transform)

Niji(voiceover): The next stop on our tour was Fuschia City, where we were expected to play for the Gym Leader, Koga. (we see a shot of Koga) But no sooner had we gone to bed that night, did the Rockets steal our jewelry! (we see Kage and Yami making off with a bag) Ash and the others tried to transform, but they couldn't! (we see Ash and the others trying and failing to transform) Since Ash still could sing as Kochou, I had him sing to fool the Rockets into thinking that he had transformed. (we see Ash singing to the shocked Rockets). It took a wild chase and a wilder melee... (we see the gang chasing after the Rockets interspersed with clips of the dust cloud.) but thanks to Koga's daughter, Janine, we got our stuff back, and the show DID go on! (we see Janine giving Ash the jewelry.)

Today we're dedicating a resort on Mt. Silver...but I can sense an adventure in store!

(upbeat music begins as we see the title)

Kochou: Hey! My name is Kochou! (Kochou poses with his bandmates, Misty, and Niji before the title, which is lit up like a neon sign)

Episode 11: Silver in Slalom

(We see a crowd of people gathered around a complex of cabins on a snowy mountain slope. A red ribbon is nearby a stage, where a pair of scissors and various instruments are waiting.)

(Backstage, Niji watches as the gang removes their coats and other snow gear.)

Niji: Cold enough for you?

Ash: Yeah... (he hangs up his coat) I just hope that Nurse Joy gives us some hot chocolate when we're done playing...

(Brock pops up behind Ash, hearts in his eyes)

Brock: Who needs chocolate when her love can warm my aching heart? (lovingly watches as Nurse Joy addresses the crowd outside)

Misty: You'll just have to settle for chocolate... (drags Brock away by the ear and plops him in the pile of coats, then goes to brief the crew in the next room over)

Niji: Hurry and transform while Nurse Joy's talking, you guys!

May: Right! (she touches the ruby in her ring and claps twice, her shirt lengthens and gains silver buttons. Next, she taps the ring on her shoes, making them turn into red high heels. (The crowd roars as Kochou and the others run onstage. Kochou accepts the scissors from Nurse Joy and cuts the red ribbon while the other Beautiflies look on, prompting more cheers)

Kochou: Thank you! (he runs to waiting mic and guitar at center stage and tunes a little) It's great to be with you all on this cool day. (Midorichou does a rim shot, causing the crowd to laugh) Thanks, Midorichou. (more laughter)

(The scene of Kochou talking is framed in binoculars)

Yami: There's Silverhead, talking to his adoring fans...

Kage: Doing anything rotten right now would be very risky, see the guards? (points out security guards in various locations) Let's just stay put. (Yami slumps against a tree, prompting snow to fall on her)

(Back onstage, the crowd murmurs as Kochou finishes tuning.)

Kochou: Oh yeah! (snaps a few times to count everyone off. Midorichou leads the band into a relaxed beat...)

Kochou, Akaichou and Mizuirochou: Gonna have a party!

Kochou: Yeah, we are!

Kochou, Akaichou, and Mizuirochou: A good time jamboree!

Kochou: The mountain, here tonight!

Akaichou: Let's all clap our hands, now! (the crowd obeys, including Kage, Yami, and Meowth several yards away)

(Midorichou keeps playing the beat in the background, which Kochou improvises his own solo to)

(Yami is watching Midorichou play, impressed that he's able to stay on the beat at such a fast tempo)

Yami(to Kage): How come YOU can't play the drums that fast?

Kage: I only have so much time to practice drums, okay?

(Back onstage, Mizuirochou rallies the crowd as she dances to the beat)

Mizuirochou: Keep on clappin' your hands! You're doing great!

(After Midorichou plays the beat for a little while longer...)

Kochou: We want you to sing along with us now...can you do that? (the crowd roars in reply) Here we go! (waits a moment, then sings) Hey hey...

Crowd: Hey hey..

Kochou: Ho ho...

Crowd: Ho ho...

Kochou: Hey!

Crowd: Hey!

Kochou: Ho!

Crowd: Ho!

Kochou: Na na na na na na na!

(Akaichou breaks off to solo as the rest of the band joins in. When she finishes, the crowd roars with applause.)

(In the bush, Meowth applauds as Kochou bows)

Meowth: Great song, Beauty-boy...fancy singin' one with us?

Yami: Ask me why we were singing along with Silverhead, anyway...

Kage: I wasn't the one to suggest "Hey, let's all sing with Silverhead!"

Meowth: Well, if you didn't, den who did? (the Rockets continue to argue...)

(Later, Kochou and the gang are relaxing in the main cabin, sipping hot chocolate. Misty stands nearby, watching some skiiers from the window.)

Misty: They look like they're having fun...

Niji: Who says you guys can't join them? (forms pairs of skis and gear in the room, enough for each person to have one)

Akaichou: Wow! (she runs over and puts on a pair of skis.)

Nurse Joy: Now before you guys get too excited, don't forget about your evening show...

Kochou: We won't, we just want to have some fun... (puts on a pair of skis)

Misty: I'll stay behind and watch the gear for you...be careful out there! (waves goodbye as the Beautiflies depart)

(We join the Beautiflies as they whiz among the hills. Midorichou is out in front, playing tour guide as he leads the way.)

Midorichou: ..according to local lore, Mt. Silver got its name because of the massive deposits of silver and jewels inside. Some people say there's still treasure inside... (he's about to say more when the Rockets ski up to them) Huh?

Akaichou: What do you guys want?

Kage: We couldn't help overhearing your conversation about the jewels in Mt. Silver...and we just happen to know where they are!

Ierochou: REALLY?

Yami(whispering to Kage): They fell for it...their skiis will make a giant snowball while going down the hill, and they'll be tangled up!

Kage(whispering to Yami): Yeah, and they'll still be untangling themselves by the time it's time for them to play tonight!

Mizuirochou: Will you two take us there?

Kage: Here's an idea: You guys will race us down the hill to the cave...and whoever gets there first gets the jewels!

Ierochou: You got it!

(music begins as Yami and Kouchou start speeding down the hill)

Kage: In this world, there's one thing you need,

Yami: Slow and steady don't win no races! (Yami whizzes ahead of Kochou)
Slow and steady comes in last! (Kochou hears a rumble off in the distance....)
If you want to come up aces, (Yami shows Kochou an ace of spades for emphasis)
Baby, baby, you gotta be fast (Kochou looks behind him to see that the rumbling is a giant snowball! He tries to outrun it...)
And baby, you're comin' in last! (Kochou skis inside a cave to escape, but the snowball covers up the cave entrance!)

Ierochou: I thought I smelled a Rattata...this whole thing was a Rocket trap! Now we've lost Kochou!

Midorichou: The last thing I remember about Kochou's location was he was trying to outrun a giant snowball and skied into this cave, where the snowball covered up the entrance. It only makes sense that Kochou's in there!

Ierochou: Yeah! Let's dig! (music begins as the other Beautiflies start to dig through the snow...)

Ierochou: We've just been playin',

That was soon replaced by worries about where the others were...did they know where I was? Were they even looking for me? (Kochou begins walking through the cave)

Kochou: Hello? Anyone here? Akaichou? Midorichou? Misty? Niji? ANYONE????

(Kochou slumps to the cave floor, frustrated, as music begins)

(As Kochou finishes the song, a soft cry catches his attention. He looks up to see a Clefairy looking at him.)

Kochou: Okay, little girl, I'm coming... (gathers his gear and follows the Clefairy)

(We see scenes of Kochou climbing over stalagmites, sliding down passages, ducking to avoid stalagtites and climbing over other rocks, all trying to follow the tiny Pokemon. Finally, the Clefairy and Kochou arrive in a room filled with various gemstones. A little bit of sun shines through a hole in the ceiling, which blinds Kochou for a moment)

Clefairy: Fairy! (gestures to the jewels)

Kochou: Hmm... (he picks up a ruby and holds it to the light, making it shine.)

(Back outside, Mizuirochou spots a red flash coming from a hole at the top of the snowdrift)

Mizuirochou: Hey guys! I see something up there!

Midorichou: Hm? (he runs to the location Mizuirochou is pointing out and looks down.) I see Kochou in there!

Akaichou: Kochou's down there? (she tosses a rope to Midorichou) Here, lower this down to him! (Midorichou obeys, and Kochou starts climbing the rope. Once he's back outside with his bandmates, Mizuirochou hugs him, relieved he's okay.)

Mizuirochou: We thought we lost you back there!

Midorichou: He doesn't look hurt or anything... (examines Kochou some more)

Kochou: Guys, I'm alive and unharmed, okay? Let's get back to the cabins for our evening show. (puts his skis back on. The other Beautiflies do the same.)

Akaichou: Lead the way, Kochou! (The Beautiflies ski off...)

(We fade to the main cabin, where a crowd has gathered to watch Kochou and the band perform. The other Beautiflies begin to play as a spotlight appears on Kochou. He smiles at Misty, who waves back from the audience.)

Kochou(voiceover): Next time, on "Kochou and the Beautiflies"...

(We see a scene of Alto Mare)

Kochou(voiceover): We travel to the island of Alto Mare for the Rock Fashion Festival, and we befriend the girl that made our costumes, Bianca! (We see Bianca showing a design to Kochou.) She hopes to be a great fashion designer, and the costumes she made for us sure look beautiful! (we see some of the aforementioned costumes) However, the Rockets are here too! (we see the Rockets stealing the patterns) Without the patterns, we don't have costumes for the festival! Or do we? (We see Niji conjuring more costumes.) Stay tuned!

Wow! What an awesome series EmeraldSky! I loved it, especially all the description ^^. I did notice a few spelling mistakes here and there (such as in the first one you spelled gloves 'glaves'), but nothing major ^^. I loved how you made Misty rescue Ash at the beginning and not know it was really him. And how you changed the lyrics of "Butterfly" to Beautifly! When I saw that I changed the song on my playlist to Butterfly. Can't wait for the next ^^

Niji(voiceover): Previously, on "Kochou and the Beautiflies..."

(We see Kochou cutting the ribbon from the last episode)

Niji(voiceover): We trek to Mt. Silver to dedicate a ski resort, and give a free concert as part of opening day. (we see the gang performing) But when the Rockets challenged us to a race down the mountain, we ended up losing Kochou! (we see Kochou skiing into a cave, only to see the cave entrance get covered in snow) It took a little digging, but we finally found him safe and sound! (we see clips of the Beautiflies digging in the snow, followed by Kochou climbing up a rope) Thanks to quick thinking on Midorichou's part, the evening show did go on! (we see Kochou singing to Misty)

Today we're off to the exotic island of Alto Mare, where all the hottest bands have gathered for the Rock Fashion Festival! Can we be crowned the most beautiful band?

(upbeat music begins as we see the title)

Kochou: Hey! My name is Kochou!

Kochou: Hey! My name is Kochou! (Kochou poses with his bandmates, Misty, and Niji before the title, which is lit up like a neon sign)

Episode 12: The Beautifly's New Groove

(We open on a scene of Alto Mare. Latios and Latias soar overhead as we look down on a cab, obviously en route to the airport. The cab slows to a stop before the curb, where Ash and the gang are waiting.)

Niji: So this is Alto Mare... (admires the scenery for a moment as the gang climbs inside)

Brock(reading from his guide book): Alto Mare, home of the Eon dragons...sunny beaches and the hottest fashions lure tourists to this sun drenched island year after year. It is said to be protected by the legendary Soul Dew, which is guarded by the twin Eon dragons: Latios and Latias. (shows Niji a picture of Latias) This is Latias, right here. Ash got to know her personally!

Niji: Is this true, Ash?

Ash: It is. (to the cabbie) Alto Mare Convention Center, please. (to Niji) Two years ago, two thieves tried to steal the Soul Dew, and I tried to stop them. In the end...(he tears up a little bit) Latios sacrified...himself...for me. (wipes tears from his eyes)

Misty: Ash watched Latios die, and took it pretty hard...he still cries about it if he has to talk about it.

Brock: But the story doesn't end there, the Soul Dew's power ressurected Latios...that's why he continues to guard the Dew with his sister. (waves to Latios as Latios flies by his window.)

May: Say, Ash...think you can take us to see Latias?

Whitney: Or water skiing in the canals?

Misty: We'll do that eventually, but let's focus on meeting our fashion designer for now. (steps out of the cab and pays her fare)

Crystal: I heard that Bianca's the hottest up and coming designer here!

May: I can't wait to see what she made for us to wear in the festival! (steps out onto the curb in front of the convention center and stretches)

Misty: I'll go tell her you guys are here, so wait there. (she walks off into the crowd.)

May: Let's go, guys! (she touches the ruby in her ring and claps twice, her shirt lengthens and gains silver buttons. Next, she taps the ring on her shoes, making them turn into red high heels. Upon tapping the ring on her legs, she gains a white skirt with rubies dotting it. Finally, she claps over her head twice, and an electric guitar appears in her hands, as well as her hair turning red.)

Akaichou: Haeru wingu, Akaichou yo!

(Brock touches the emerald in his ring and claps twice, making his shirt turn silver. Upon touching the jewel to his legs, he gains a pair of emerald studded pants and golden shoes, also studded with emeralds. Next, Brock claps twice over his head, making the rest of his normal clothes become a sparkling green jacket. Finally, he claps twice again, making his hair turn black and forming a pair of drum sticks in one hand.)

Midorichou: Haeru wingu, Midorichou yo!

(Crystal touches the sapphire in her ring and claps twice, making gloves appear on her hands. When the sapphire is tapped on her feet, her shoes become aqua sandals studded with sapphires. Next, Crystal claps over her head, making her slip into a shirt that starts out royal blue at the top, then turns white at the bottom; followed by a aqua skirt. Finally, she claps twice again, and her hair is magically braided, plus a harmonica appears in her hand.)

Mizuirochou: Haeru wingu, Mizuirochou yo!

(Whitney touches the topaz in her ring and claps twice, making her shirt and shorts turn into a short yellow dress. Touching the ring to her shoes turns them into small boots. Clapping over her head makes Whitney's hair turn yellow and put itself up in a ponytail, as well as making a yellow sash and small topazes appear on her costume. Whitney claps again, and lace appears on her costume.)

Ierochou: Haeru wingu, Ierochou yo!

Ash(holds his hand in the air, then sings in a noticeably older sounding voice): Ai-yai-yai, I'm your little Beautifly! (Ash's hand begins to glow) Green, black, and blue; make the colors in the sky!

(MUSIC-"Beautifly" (instrumental))

(We see a glowing outline of Ash's body against the background of Beautifly wings. As Ash hangs in this position, his torso begins to glow purple, and a silver and purple shirt appears on him. Next, a checkered jacket appears over that in a flash of purple. Next, we look at Ash's legs as sparkling black pants appear on his legs in a flash of blue, and silver shoes appear on his feet. The view next shifts to Ash's head, where we see his eyes finally open. His normally black hair begins to lengthen and turn silver. A white rose appears in the right pocket of the jacket, which the young man holds in one hand as he poses for the audience.)

(Music cut)

(After a few minutes, Misty returns with an auburn haired girl clad in a mint green T-shirt and shorts)

Misty: Here they are, Bianca...Kochou and the Beautiflies!

Bianca: So you guys are that hot new band everyone's talking about...even Latios and Latias can't get enough of your songs!

Kochou: Well, I'm honored! (everyone laughs)

Bianca: If you'll come with me, I'll show you the outfits I've made for you!

Kochou: Right behind you! (Bianca leads the way inside the convention center, past the crowds of people, and up to the second foor. Once there, she enters a dressing room, where various costumes are strewn about. Some outfits are complete and some are not.)

Akaichou: Wow...

Ierochou: Just look at all these!

Midorichou: Nice... ::feels the velvet on a suit::

Bianca: Okay...Mizuirochou, I finished yours first... ::she unveils a sparkling aqua gown with a white sash around the middle::

Mizuirochou: It's beautiful! Thanks so much! (runs to try on the gown)

Midorichou: Looking good, Mizuirochou! (snaps a few pictures of Mizuirochou modeling her new outfit)

Bianca: Okay...this one's for Akaichou... (unveils a short red gown decorated in glittering swirls with a bow to match.)

Akaichou: How pretty! (runs to try it on. Kochou ties the red ribbon in Akaichou's hair to finish the look)

Bianca: And completing the girl's looks, this is for Ierochou. (unveils a flowing yellow gown studded in topazes. Ierochou gains hearts in her eyes when she sees the outfit)

Niji: I think Ierochou likes hers. (everyone laughs. Ierochou just blushes in embarassment)

Bianca: Now for the boys...For Midorichou, I made this. (unveils a deep geen tuxedo-like outfit studded in emeralds and diamonds) and for Kochou...(unveils a suit that's mainly blue, but has a purple, green, black, and silver checkered vest under that, and a white shirt under that. After trying his on, Midorichou feels a little...unnerved.)

Midorichou: Whay do I feel like I'm some fiddle player about to play an Irish tune? (he gets an idea...) SAY.... (claps twice, making a fiddle appear in his hand)

Kochou: Please, no! (covers his ears)

Ierochou: Cover your ears!

(Midorichou raises his fiddle to his chin and starts a rather sorry sounding rendition of--what else?--"The Beautifly")

Akaichou: Somebody make him stop!

Mizuirochou: Midorichou!

Midorichou: Yeah? (stops his song)

Mizuirochou: Fiddle. Stop. NOW.

Midorichou: Okay, okay...(snaps, making the fiddle disappear)

Mizuirochou: Thank you.

Bianca: Enough, guys! Let's go model your costumes for Latias! (she leads the gang out the door)

(We join the gang as they climb up a rocky outcropping overlooking the island.)

Bianca: Here we are, you guys...the den of the Lati twins.

Kochou: Anybody home? (his voice echos inside the cave) Guess she didn't hear me... (starts toward his waiting mic and guitar)

Bianca: She knows me, so let me call her. (she walks up to the cave entrance) Latias...Kochou and the Beautifies are here.

Female voice: Really?

Male voice: I'm surprised you're not coming out quicker seeing how those five are your favorite band...

Bianca: Latios! That wasn't nice!

Male voice: Sorry...wonder what they're gonna play?

Female voice: Well, come out and see!

Male voice: Let's hope they're better than the band that came an hour ago... (the blue and silver head of Latios peeks from the entrance, then hovers out before the gang.) So this is the famous Kochou and his Beautifly band...

Female voice: I've heard some good bands today, but I've been waiting to hear you all day!

Bianca: Each of the bands that are here has played for Latios and Latias today...so what are you going to play?

Kochou: Well, to start, we're gonna do a cover of a song made famous by the 80's singer Jem....to be specific, we're covering her hit "Depends on the Mood I'm In".

Latias: Hit it, Kochou!

(music begins)

Meowth: You SURE dis is where dat girl kept the costumes for da Beautiflies?

Kage: Sure, I'm sure...

Yami: The Beautiflies must be out modeling them...so why not just take the patterns? That way, the girl can't make more, and we can make our own duds for the fashion show!

Kage: You may have a point there...

(music begins)

Moonin' over this or that boy, (we see Misty sighing over a picture of Kochou)

(Later, the gang returns to the center to rest...)

Others: Fly away... (the gang glows their respective colors before revealing May, Brock, Crystal, and Whitney)

Kochou: Where's my samurai? (glows purple for a moment before revealing Ash)

May: Let's head upstairs, we have time to chill before the fashion show tonight...

(May is cut off by a shriek. She leads the gang upstairs and notices Bianca standing agape at the mess in her office)

Brock: What happened here?

Bianca: Someone took the patterns for the costumes I made for Kochou and the Beautiflies! Now they won't have anything to wear for tonight!

Niji: Sure they will!

Bianca: Really?

Ash: Niji has magical power in her, I know she can make new costumes just like the ones you made!

Bianca: Sounds a little farfetched, but I'd be willing to do anything to get those costumes back! (runs out in search of the missing patterns)

Ash: Okay, Niji...do your stuff!

Niji: I'm gonna temporarily power up your pendant so that it powers up all of you...(Ash's pendant glows blue for a moment) Okay! Sing it, Ash!

Ash(holds his hand in the air, then sings in a noticeably older sounding voice): Ai-yai-yai, I'm your little Beautifly! (Ash's hand begins to glow) Green, black, and blue; make the colors in the sky!

(MUSIC-"Beautifly" (instrumental)

(The pendant plays back the tune Ash sang as we look to see not only Ash, but also May, Brock, Crystal, and Whitney glowing as well. We next see outlines of the gang and Ash's bodies against the backgrounds of Beautifly wings.)

(May is first to transform: her shirt lengthens into the gown she modeled earlier, with the swirls and rubies appearing on it in a flash of red. Next, gloves with rubies on the hand appear on her hands, and red high heels appear on her feet. Her brown hair lengthens and turns red, followed by the red bow appearing a few seconds later as she poses for the audience.)

(Brock is next: his shirt turns white, followed by the rest of his clothes turning into a deep green suit. His pants change color in a flash of green, and a flash of green on his feet leave behind gold emerald-studded shoes. Finally, his head glows green, which makes his hair turn black before he too poses for the audience)

(Crystal first gains the first part of her outfit, making it appear she is wearing an aqua bathing suit. The "bathing suit" lengthins into a gown, where a white sash appears in in flash of blue. Gloves appear on her hands and aqua sandals appear on her feet. Her hair magically braids itself as she strikes a pose for the audience.)

(Whitney also begins her transformation by gaining a bathing suit--but she geans a stole around her arms as the "bathing suit" lengthens into a full gown studded in topazes and decorated with lace. Her hair puts itself up in a ponytail and turns yellow before she too poses for the audience.)

(As Ash hangs in this position, his torso begins to glow blue, and a silver and blue shirt appears on him. Next, a purple, green, black, and silver checkered vest appears over that in a flash of purple, followed by a blue jacket. Next, we look at Ash's legs as sparkling black pants appear on his legs in a flash of blue, and silver shoes appear on his feet. The view next shifts to Ash's head, where we see his eyes finally open. His normally black hair begins to lengthen and turn silver. A white rose appears in the right pocket of the jacket, which the young man holds in one hand as he poses for the audience.)

(Bianca returns a few moments later and gasps when she sees the gang fully dressed.)

Bianca: Wow...how'd you get ready so quickly?

Kochou: Told ya Niji had magic. (winks at Niji as he follows Bianca out to the runway)

(we see scenes of the gang modeling their new outfits as the scene fades out)

Misty(voiceover): As the Rock Fashion Festival continues, we get a chance to have our pictures taken for the festival's commemorative photo album. But the Rockets want to be sure this years album is anything but commemorative, even stealing our pictures! (we see the Rockets making off with the gang's pictures. I'd pay more for a Festival photo album with our pictures than any picture of a Rocket! (we see the Rockets acting silly for the camera.) Stay tuned!

I loved there new outfits! This was the best one yet! I can't wait for the next chapter

Ash gets the new transformation permanently after the special episode...the other Beautiflies transform like Ash thanks to the power boost...this marks the possibly only time they'll transform like this.

(we see the gang's new outfits) Once we were all made up, we proceeded to play for the island's twin guardians: The Eon dragons Latios and Latias. (We see Kochou singing as the Latis listen) But while we were out, the Rockets came and stole the patterns to our costumes! (we see the Rockets trashing Bianca's office) Bianca paniced, but I powered up Ash's pendant so that everyone could transform into the new outfits! (we see the gang's temporary new transformations) Bianca was very relieved, and we were truly the belles of the ball!

Today's the second day of the festival, and we're off for a photo shoot--but the Rockets are such camera hogs!

Niji: The surfing will have to wait, guys...we can't be late for the festival photo shoot...

Ash: Aw, Niji...can't we surf there?

Niji: No, your costumes will get all wet, and you'd look horrible sopping wet! (Misty, meanwhile, is admiring the music boxes and wind chimes in a shop)

Misty: Guys, if you don't mind, I'm going in here for a minute--you too, Niji.

Niji: Coming... (follows Misty into the shop)

Brock: Hey, Ash..now's the time to transform and show Misty and Niji both that Kochou can surf!

May: Good idea! (she touches the ruby in her ring and claps twice, her shirt lengthens and gains silver buttons. Next, she taps the ring on her shoes, making them turn into red high heels. Niji: What on earth...?

Kochou: Hey, Misty...(poses aboard the shell)

Niji: Wouldn't it be easier to just walk to the photo shoot?

Kochou: Come on, Niji, surfing will get us there in style!

Niji: Okay, but don't come running to me when you arrive at the shoot soaked!

Kochou: Come on in! (grips his tow line as Midorichou finishes checking over the boat)

(the boat roars to life as music begins)

Kochou: Somethin' big's been waitin' to happen,

And if we're gonna make it happen,
We've gotta let our feet get wet, baby! (Kochou weaves and swirls through the water as Misty and Niji run to keep up)

Kochou: Told ya I can surf! (bows as the others applaud)

Misty: You're just as good as Ash, if not better! Now, let's go get our pictures taken! (leads everyone inside the photo studio)

(Kochou speaks as we look in on the Beautiflies posing for a group shot)

Kochou(voiceover): We spent all morning taking pictures, and we got plenty of great shots to boot. (We see scenes of the gang posing for individual pictures, with and without their instruments) But we also had rivals vying for a place in the commemorative photo book...

(We see the Rockets in their private villa overlooking the photo studio)

Yami: We get here, model our own new duds...

Kage: (sigh) Don't remind me of how that went...

(We see various scenes of the Rockets being booed off the runway)

Yami(ignoring Kage): Surfing in the canals...

Kage: Surfing being a relative term...

(we see Yami being dragged behind the boat, getting wetter all the while)

Yami: So how come WE didn't get a chance to get our pictures taken for the festival photo book?

Meowth: Just because we aren't in da photo book, doesn't mean we can make a photo book of our own!

Yami: Sounds cool! (gathers some horrendously tacky outfits)

(We see scenes of the Rockets modeling their horrible outfits, but most of the shooting is of the Rockets being silly for the camera)

(the Zelda 'got item' stinger plays as Meowth holds a black book over his head. The title reads "The Best of Rocket Fashions" in glaring green letters that clearly clash with the cover. Hundreds of identical books lie nearby.)

Kage: Nice... (thumbs through one of the books, trying to stifle giggles at some of the sillier pictures)

Yami: Come on, let's go give these out! (drags Kage and Meowth out the door)

(music begins as the Rockets try to give away copies of their horrible photo book)

Yami: Here we are,
Pullin' out of the station!

Kage: Here we go,
Without a moment's hesitation!

Meowth: Here we come,
A brilliant new sensation!

Kage, Yami, and Meowth: We're doin' what we were born to do!
Gang way, we're comin through! (The Rockets knock some people over as they take off down the street)

We're off and runnin',
And no one can stop us! (The Rockets race by as mere blurs)

Nobody can top us! (we see a download chart with "The Rocket Trio" on the top spot)
More than looking good,
We're lookin' stunnin'! (We see Kage, Yami, and Meowth "shine")

Yami: We may have our ups and downs
But we're still better than the rest of the clowns! (Kochou happens to overhear this line...)

Kochou: Hey!

(Hours later, the Rockets return to their villa, dejected)

Yami: Nobody wanted our book...they're too interested in the official photo book...

Meowth: Den maybe if we pulled da ol' switcheroo...

Kage: Now you're talking! (dashes outside with an armful of books, Yami and Meowth in tow.)

(We see the Rockets going through the different shops of Alto Mare, replacing the official photo book with their book)

(Elsewhere, Kochou and the gang are signing autographs at the convention center, when Kochou hears an "Ew!" coming from the book booth. He runs to see what's wrong, and sees Misty looking aghast at the fake book)

Misty: How did these awful pictures get in here?

(Midorichou takes one of the Rocket books...and bursts out laughing at what he sees inside.)

Midorichou: You call THIS a photo book? (laughs hysterically)

Akaichou: Looks like somebody had a little too much fun with the camera... (Mizuirochou and Ierochou are also laughing over the terrible pictures)

Niji: That's not even the real photo book! THIS is the real book! (shows Kochou and the others a copy of the real book, which has a blue cover and "Alto Mare Rock Fashion Festival 2006" written in gold script)

Bianca: Someone switched them while the center was empty this afternoon. But fortunately, we have lots more copies of the real books! (gestures to several boxes of the real books behind her)

Ierochou: Let's go give out the real books! (grabs an armload of books and dashes off.)

(We see Kochou and the gang passing out the real books as music begins)

Kochou: We'll return next year and make next year's festival even better! (everyone laughs as we look over the sunset. Latios and Latias can be seen flying against the sun)

(an instrumental of "When Tomorrow Comes" plays as the word "Next...appears onscreen)

Akaichou(voiceover): Next time, on "Kochou and the Beautiflies..."

(we see a marquee proclaiming "Music Awards Tonite")

Akaichou(voiceover): It's time for the Rock Music Awards, and we're the favorites to win Best New Act! (we see crowds of people gathered around a stage in the Battle Frontier) Even cooler, the ceremony's at the Battle Frontier this year, and one of the Brains is actually a pretty good bassist, if I say so myself. (we see Anabel playing a bass guitar as Kochou and Niji listen) I sure hope she's ready for the limelight. (we see the Rockets descending on the Battle Tower, making the crowds scatter) But the Rockets want to make sure THEY get the award! I know we're WAY better than they are! But stay tuned to see for yourself what happens!

(an instrumental of "Only the Beginning" plays as the word "Previously..." appears onscreen)

Niji(voiceover): Previously, on "Kochou and the Beautiflies"...

(we see scenes of the photo shoot from the previous episode)

Niji(voiceover): As the Rock Fashion Festival continued, we got our pictures taken for the commemorative photo book. (we see a shot of the aforementioned book.) But, jealous as always, those Rockets had to make a photo book of their own. (we the Rockets being silly for the camera) They even went so far at to switch the official book with theirs...and some of the pictures you had to see to believe! (we see the band laughing over the pictures) Thankfully, we found all the real books, earning us an invite to come back to the festival next year! (we see Kochou and Bianca hugging)

Today though, is the first night of the Rock Music Awards, and we also have a newcomer waiting for us... (we see a sillhouette of Anabel)

(upbeat music begins as we see the title)

Me and my friends are Beautiflies!

Kochou: Hey! My name is Kochou!

Exciting adventures, glamour and fame!

Kochou: Now a Beautifly, never the same!

Come on, take flight and fly away now!

Kochou: Hey! My name is Kochou! (Kochou poses with his bandmates, Misty, and Niji before the title, which is lit up like a neon sign)

Episode 14: Hello, Aiirochou!

(We open on a scene of the Battle Frontier at night, where various trainers are milling around battling in the various facilities and listening to the various bands. A brown haired man clad in a sparkling blue Hawaiian shirt and sunglasses leads Ash and the gang over to a stage nearby the Battle Tower, where Kochou and the band will be performing)

May: Thank you again for letting Kochou perform tonight, Scott.

Scott: Anytime, sweetheart...when the awards committee asked to use the Frontier for this year's awards, I said sure thing, and offered the trainers an opportunity to hear the bands for themselves before the ceremony.

Ash: Well, we're gonna set up before they get here... (waves goodbye as Scott disappears into the crowd. Misty motions for Ash to come closer to a console with wires nearby the stage, where she is attempting to figure out how to wire the mics.) Yeah?

Misty: How am I supposed to wire the mics when I don't know which wire goes to which mic?

Ash: They're color coded, if that helps...

Misty: Oh, I see... (connects a red wire with a plug marked in red) Try that! (Misty is called to the sound booth) Just a sec! Check that mic for me!

(Ash steps on the stage and grabs the mic in question)

Ash: Testing, testing, one two...sibilance....sibilance... (the sounds of a bass guitar catch his attention) Huh?

Niji: That sounds pretty good! (flies up to one of the window to look) Well! If it isn't Anabel, the tower brain!

May: Huh?

Brock: I didn't know Anabel played bass!

Niji: Ash, transform into Kochou and sing for her! That should get her attention!

Ash: Sure! (holds his hand in the air, then sings in a noticeably older sounding voice): Ai-yai-yai, I'm your little Beautifly! (Ash's hand begins to glow) Green, black, and blue; make the colors in the sky!

(MUSIC-"Beautifly" (instrumental))

(We see a glowing outline of Ash's body against the background of Beautifly wings. As Ash hangs in this position, his torso begins to glow purple, and a silver and purple shirt appears on him. Next, a checkered jacket appears over that in a flash of purple. Next, we look at Ash's legs as sparkling black pants appear on his legs in a flash of blue, and silver shoes appear on his feet. The view next shifts to Ash's head, where we see his eyes finally open. His normally black hair begins to lengthen and turn silver. A white rose appears in the right pocket of the jacket, which the young man holds in one hand as he poses for the audience.)

(Music cut)

(Anabel appears at the window, intrigued by the commotion below. Kochou waves to her, which prompts her to come outside, bass guitar in tow.)

Anabel: I can't believe my eyes! My idol, Kochou?

Kochou: That's me!

Anabel: Wow! I can't believe my idol is here...(she plugs her bass into a spare amp and starts tuning it)

Kochou: I have a song for you too... (hits PLAY on a tape deck)

(Hey babe!)

(Hey babe!)

Kochou: I've got my eye on you,

Anabel: This is a dream come true! I've always wanted to play in a band like yours, but the other Brains...well...

(We see a scene of the Frontier Brains trying to play various instruments...Anabel is the only one that sounds half decent)

Anabel: The other Brians are musically challenged, we'll say.

Kochou: Well, Niji here has your ticket to stardom...(motions to Niji, who is sitting on his shoulder)

(Niji flies over Anabel's head and does a loop, dropping a ring with an amethyst inside in her hand)

Anabel: Interesting...a ring will turn me into a famed bassist?

May: Here's how it's done! (she touches the ruby in her ring and claps twice, her shirt lengthens and gains silver buttons. Next, she taps the ring on her shoes, making them turn into red high heels. Upon tapping the ring on her legs, she gains a white skirt with rubies dotting it. Finally, she claps over her head twice, and an electric guitar appears in her hands, as well as her hair turning red.)

Akaichou: Haeru wingu, Akaichou yo!

(Brock touches the emerald in his ring and claps twice, making his shirt turn silver. Upon touching the jewel to his legs, he gains a pair of emerald studded pants and golden shoes, also studded with emeralds. Next, Brock claps twice over his head, making the rest of his normal clothes become a sparkling green jacket. Finally, he claps twice again, making his hair turn black and forming a pair of drum sticks in one hand.)

Midorichou: Haeru wingu, Midorichou yo!

(Crystal touches the sapphire in her ring and claps twice, making gloves appear on her hands. When the sapphire is tapped on her feet, her shoes become aqua sandals studded with sapphires. Next, Crystal claps over her head, making her slip into a shirt that starts out royal blue at the top, then turns white at the bottom; followed by a aqua skirt. Finally, she claps twice again, and her hair is magically braided, plus a harmonica appears in her hand.)

Mizuirochou: Haeru wingu, Mizuirochou yo!

(Whitney touches the topaz in her ring and claps twice, making her shirt and shorts turn into a short yellow dress. Touching the ring to her shoes turns them into small boots. Clapping over her head makes Whitney's hair turn yellow and put itself up in a ponytail, as well as making a yellow sash and small topazes appear on her costume. Whitney claps again, and lace appears on her costume.)

Ierochou: Haeru wingu, Ierochou yo!

Niji: Your turn!

Anabel: Here goes... (touches the amethyst in her ring and claps twice, making her shirt gain purple sparkles. Touching the ring on her legs makes her capris lengthen into purple pants with matching shoes. Clapping over her head forms a purple vest with blue trim, which Anabel slips into; Anabel next claps twice again, lengthening her hair to shoulder length and forming a bass guitar in her hands.)

Aiirochou: Haeru wingu, Aiirochou yo!

Kochou: Welcome aboard, Aiirochou! (Just then, Misty returns from the sound booth) Misty, this our newest addition, Aiirochou.

Misty: Pleased to meet you, Aiirochou...my job is to schedule gigs and be sure you guys are comfy in every venue you play at.

Aiirochou: The pleasure's all mine.

(We see the scene of Misty and Aiirochou framed in binoculars)

Kage: So the Beautiflies have a new kid on the block, do they....

Yami: She has no idea of the competition she faces from us...come on, let's climb the tower and cause a real scare! (motions for Kage and Meowth to follow her, where all three begin to climb the Battle Tower)

(Suddenly, the crowds notice the Rockets climbing and begin to panic. Aiirochou glances around, confused to all the commotion.)

Aiirochou: What's going on?

Midorichou: Don't tell me it's these guys again...

Aiirochou: Why?

Akaichou: These Rockets will do anything to upstage us, even if it means putting others in danger!

Mizuirochou: Not to mention their songs are lame...

(A spotlight appears on the Rockets as they reach the top of the Tower)

Yami: To protect the world from devastation...

Kage: And unite all people within our nation...

Yami: To denounce the evils of truth and love,

Kage: To extend our reach to the stars above.

Yami: Yami...

Kage: Kage...

Yami: Team Rocket! Blast off at the speed of light! (an R appears in the spotlight)

Kage: Surrender now, or prepare to fight!

Meowth: Mowth! Dat's right!

Aiirochou: Come down from the tower, now!

Yami: Not before we've finished our message to you, kid!

Aiirochou: Hey! Who are you calling, "kid"?

(music begins)

Kage: Gonna cut you down to size,

(I, I, I, I am)

Yami: Gonna make you realize,

(I, I, I, I am)

Meowth: Like a comet on da rise!

Kage, Yami, and Meowth: No one can top me,

Yami: Outta my way, kid! (drops a ball on Aiirochou)

Aiirochou: Ow! (rubs head in pain)

Midorichou: Famous last words....

Kage, Yami, and Meowth: I am twenty stories tall! (I, I, I, I am)

(Nincadas chirp as the entire Frontier waits to see what the Beautiflies will do next)

Aiirochou: You think you're so high and mighty, well, Kochou has a message for YOU!

Kochou: Here, Pikachu! (whistles. The Rockets gasp as Pikachu runs up to the base of the tower, where the Rocket's ropes are anchored)

Yami: Here we go again...

(The climbing lines glow yellow with electricity, sending the Rockets flying off with a *ping*. The crowd cheers, relieved that the Rockets are gone. Scott is especially relieved.)

Scott: How can I ever repay you, Kochou, for saving the Frontier?

Kochou: Let's say I learned a few tricks from Ash. (waves to the crowd as he takes his place onstage)

(music begins)

Kochou: Every day, we're one step closer to heaven....

Cus' I had a dream, maybe someday we'll make it together!

(we see Kochou gasping as he starts to de-transform)

Midorichou(voiceover): Kochou's starting to de-transform without any warning, and we don't know what's wrong! Thankfully, he hasn't done it in public or in front of Misty yet. (we see more scenes of Kochou de-transforming) We're all afraid that it might happen during the Music Awards ceremony, and our careers get ruined! (we see Kochou accepting an award on a stage) I have a sneaking suspicion of WHO's doing it... (we see the Rockets operating an odd satellite dish), but WHAT they're doing this with you have to see to believe! Stay tuned!

Hmm..JEM episodes turned in a story about Ash and friends...I can't truly get into the story becuase it feels like it is too centered around the music from JEM, and while there are a few changes such as plot and setting, it just feels like a 2nd rate carbon copy of the show, save the rewording of "Me and My Friends are JEM Girls"
