This post will basically be a collection of documents by me and clonex25, that will not only help people who are trying to get started with music hacking, but also people who want to become more advanced at it. The reason I want this stickied, is so the other music documents don't have to be constantly bumped. One very important music document was locked because someone bumped it too late. So yes, that is the point of this post.

So if you're trying to get into music hacking... These are the documents you should check out...

Magnius' Music Hacking Document Part 1

http://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?t=121856
Part 1 of my music hacking document. This covers the basics of inserting a midi into a Pokemon GBA game.

Magnius' Music Hacking Document Part 2

http://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?t=139156
Part 2 of my music hacking document. This covers more advanced stuff.

A document on Fire Red voice groups and the instruments they play.

http://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?t=148811
This document lists every voicegroup in Fire Red, as well as the instruments those voice groups can play.

A complete list of Fire Red's Music Values

http://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?t=123520
This document is a complete list of Fire Red's music values. So say you wanted to change the music playing on a map, but you didn't know the hex value of the song you wanted to change it to, this is what this document will tell you.

GBA Music Looping

http://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?t=123520
This is a document by Clonex25 that explains how to successfully loop a song once you've inserted it.

Magnius' Sappy Video Tutorial

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=el2s5EIHWSM
A video tutorial by me showing step by step how I insert midis.

And yeah, those are all of the documents. In these documents you'll probably find almost anything you need to know about GBA Music Hacking. A list of RSE voicegroups will also be added to this list later.

Nice one Magnius, I've always admired what you do with music. I may try to do some of this soon, it just seems like a pretty big frontier to cross for some reason...:P

Well, it can't possibly be any easier now, hopefully we'll see more hacks with different music! Well done!

amazing Magnius, will have to try this sometime. sorry to sound like an idiot, but is this only for fire red? or will it work on R/S/E?
Well, I use mostly Fire Red, but all the documents here can be used with any GBA Pokemon game that is supported by Sappy. Haha, I still need to make an RSE voicegroup document and let me just say this, it's coming very soon.
