The world of Avatar is a land split between four different nations. In the past the factions - the Earth Kingdom, the Air Nomads, the Fire Nation and Water Tribes, have been at war. The unstable world was dominated by the Fire Nation, who took advantage of the absence of The Avatar - an individual capable of amazing feats, with the power to shape the world. Thankfully, The Avatar returned - putting the Fire Nation in their place and securing a time of peace and unity - the different benders joined together, forming the United Republic of Nations - a city where anyone could live.

One hundred years ago, when the avatar died, and a new Avatar was born. Her prowess, supported by the coordination of the four nations, helped her to overcome her enemies - non-benders wielding powerful tech-weapons, the Equalists. With assistance from her friend, Avatar Korra managed to put a halt to their plan, rendering their leader, Amon, useless. Another era of peace began.

Avatar Korra passed away 18 years ago. The global search for the next Avatar began immediately - the elders from Republic City roamed around the lands looking for newborns. The search of the entire country took a total of twenty-four months, searching the far corners of the world.

As newborns, identifying the Avatar from the babies was near impossible, so instead their whereabouts was logged - their parents signing contracts for a later date. At the age of five, the children were summoned, taking part in a heavy-duty training camp to identify the new Avatar.

Eventually, The Avatar was awakened - showing their power even at a young age. The camp was disbanded, the children sent back to their homes and The Avatar began a rigorous training regime. It is The Avatar's duty to master all four of the bending elements, which in turn will fully awaken his or her potential, over an intensive period (and with a variety of different teachers) The Avatar managed to become adept at three of the elements.

You have recently turned eighteen - as a potential Avatar you, and all other characters, share an identical birthday. You also share a year's worth of memory, from your training sessions over a decade ago. You may not remember it clearly, you might not even recognise their faces anymore.

You have been training in your element since the training camp, striving to become a better bender, however (for whatever your reason may be) you have decided to visit Republic City. Whilst there you have decided to watch, or perhaps accidentally stumbled in to, a pro-bending match. Pro-bending is a new super sport, popular since the reign of Avatar Korra, that combines combat, teamwork and competition.

You spot a face in the crowd, you hear the familiar name of a competitor, you stumble in to an old acquaintance.[/div]

[CSS-DIV="background-color: #f3f3f3; background-opacity: 0.5; padding: 10px; border: solid; border-color: #488889; border-width: 1px; color: #000000; text-align: left;"]Bending:

There are now a total of six bending classes. Water, earth/metal, fire, air and energy. Energy is the signature bending of an Avatar, they are the only person who can access it in present times. Evidence suggests that people must be genetically pre-disposed to bending, often having a close relative able to bend as well. The child of a fire bender and a water bender could, potentially, bend either - but not both.

Hey everyone! Good to be here, and I'm SO excited to get things rolling. Just going to mention that you're welcome to make up an animal, or pick an already-established animal in the Avatar world as a pet. However, you should ONLY be doing this if you're determined to have a pet (Alá Momo or Bolin's fire ferret), and you think you'd be good at portraying said pet :) Otherwise, ask Swifty and I if you have any questions!

Kalden | The OOC thread

Name: Kalden (Pronounced Kal'den)

Element: Air

Additional weapon: His glider-staff

Appearance: Being an 18-year old boy, Kalden definitely looks youthful. He sports no form of facial hair, either due to it not growing yet, or him shaving it off. He's slightly taller than your average 18-year old male, has light-brown eyes and jet-black hair. Unlike most airbenders, Kalden has grown out his hair rather than shaving his head bald, and has grown it long enough for it to be completely slicked back and pulled into a ponytail at the centre of the back of his head, the tail reaching down to just touch between his shoulders.

He's definitely not considered over-muscled, but he does still have some physical prowess, thanks to his training and career within the Pro-Bending scene. Most would describe him as 'Athletic', being tall and more agile than strong, though he seems to still be able to pack a punch, should you get into a fight with him.

His clothing is not exactly traditional for an Airbender either. His feet are clad with a pair of comfortable, orangey-brown shoes, rather than the near-knee-high boots usually worn by his people. The orangey-yellow, below-knee-length pants that is traditional for his people, he does wear, although a version that's a lot less 'baggy' than usually, which also bares his legs from his ankles, up to below his knees.

He wears a pair of orange wrist-bands, but no gloves outside of the Pro-Bending arena, as he feels they restrict his movements too much. On his torso, he wears an orange, yellow and brown-ish, sleeveless vest with a high collar, buttoned in the front, below his chest. Underneath this vest, he wears a dark-brown undershirt, which is barely seen when wearing the vest.

( Basically this http://th09.deviantart.net/fs70/PRE/f/2012/092/8/f/8fdd0b6a8312afdde292f8a7429bde3d-d4ut5vt.jpg is his vest, although in different colours. )

Personality: Kalden used to be a quiet, mild-mannered child, who didn't have a hard time making friends. However, as he grew up, he became a little more… spirited. He's full of energy and always ready for a laugh, either with, or on behalf of his friends. Though he might come off as a bit of a show-off and being slightly too focused on making what he does look interesting, he's a good guy at heart, not wanting anything bad to overcome neither those he know, nor anyone else. He's often seen with a large smile or a grin plastered on his face, and he always seems ready for an adventure of some kind, no matter how big or small it is.

Brief History: Being one of the few airbenders in the world, Kalden grew up on Air Temple Island, along with his family and the acolytes, hoping to learn from his family. Granted, there were alot more airbenders than when Avatar Korra was around, but it was still an incredibly small number compared to the other three or, some would say, four, types of benders.

Keldan grew up relatively sheltered, with minimum access to Republic City, despite the fact that his grandmother is part of the city's council. He was happy though, growing up being a rather unique individual, along his family. Things got a little shaken up, however, as he was taken to Avatar camp, along with other children around the world, all the same age, nearly down to the minute. As he returned, something seemed... changed, in the boy. It was hard to notice, but he seemed less introverted and quiet, and more... out there, if only by a little.

Only a few years later, he was visited by a girl from family somewhere in the mainland, whom he'd met at the Avatar training camp, due to... well, her being the Avatar, and needed training with airbending. He hardly spoke to her, but he did recognize her, and there weren't any hostilities between them. He just didn't really... talk to her.

As he grew older, his bubbly, childish nature grew with him, making him a very energetic, outwards-faced, young man. He still took his training and meditation seriously, but he also acknowledged that air was the element of freedom, and as he grew old enough, he felt it to be the right time to move out and into Republic City, as he'd been longing to for several years now.

It took some time, and help from his family, but he managed to get himself an appartment and a part-time job at a local restaurant as a cleaner, which would make him enough money to just get by. It didn't take long for him to find a love in his heart for Pro Bending, after having witnessed some local boys in a gym not far from the docks, where his appartment lay.

He began training, and it was clear fairly sure that most other up-and-coming Pro Benders had no strategy on how to beat an airbender, or in some cases, they simply weren't enough of a match to the young airbender. At the age of fifteen, nearly sixteen, he had assembled a team of himself, a firebender named Jian and an earthbender named Dominic, completing their team, "The Force of Nature".

The three of them swiftly made their way up the ranks, and within a year and a half, they were among the top of the Pro-Bending teams of Republic City, having barely lost the previous championship to the Crocodile Pumas. However! The annual Pro Bending Championship is drawing near, and Kalden and his two team mates are working hard on preparing themselves to reach the top of the Pro Bending circuit this year.

Sample Roleplay: Growing up on Air Temple Island near Republic City wasn't that tough. Other kids might think so, but Kalden, who hadn't experienced any different, thought it to be a lovely place, full of peace, tranquillity, and of course, the bond of his family.

However, he was taken to the Avatar training camp, with quite a lot of protests from his side, at the age of five. His parents assured him that he would return within a year, and for them, he tried to hold back the tears of having to be away from his mother and father, and the rest of his family for that matter, for so long. As he came to the camp, erected somewhere hidden within the mainland, he felt alienated by everyone else, especially being the only airbender, but also from being away from home, which he had never been. He'd never made friends with other kids than the ones of his family, so he pulled a bit into himself and mostly stayed on his own.
However, after a few weeks of training and personal solitude, and, let's face it, alot of crying, another of the kids, a firebender named Isang, who asked him if he wanted to go play. Excited to actually meet someone else, Kalden went off with him, and it didn't take long before they were the best of friends during his entire stay at the camp.

With the help of Isang, it didn't take long for him to make new friends, although the training was –much- harder than back on Air Temple Island. Of course, he aced the airbending, as much as could be expected from a five year old kid, but he had quite a lot of trouble with the other elements. Eventually, the Avatar had been found and Kalden was saddened that he had to leave his new friends, possibly never to see them again. He was looking forward to returning home, however, and as he got home, he told his parents everything he had seen and learned at the camp. Seemingly, the experience had awoken something in the boy, envigorated him and given him twice the spirit he possessed before going. Either to his parents' joy… or dismay, depending on what time of the morning it kicked off.

凱撒 卡內基
Caesar Carnegie
Element:
° E A R T H °
Weapon:
Ying Zhao Pai
(鷹爪派)

Which directly translates into "Eagle Claw". A style of Chinese martial arts which is known for its gripping techniques, system of joint locks, takedowns, and pressure point strikes, the second and third Caesar is familiarized with to a degree. Particularly: single and double leg takedown, armlocks and leglocks.
Appearance:
Six feet in height and 80kg in weight. A young male of average build, not so great but not to be ignored, either. His peachy skin tone melds nicely with the color tones of his clothes. His face is slightly round, curving down to a pronounced chin as one goes down his face. His eyes are like small little ovals and are a clear hazel. A set of slightly thick eyebrows is placed over them, of the same dirty almond color of his hair. Said hair is short and slightly messy, rising up in a myriad of tiny spikes. His ears are not of a great size, but are certainly noticed with his short hair. His wide nose is his most notable trait, and a small set of lips is neatly placed under it. And finally, a tattoo made very recently depicting Ba Sing Se, the city from which his family hails from, is placed by the side of his neck.

His under clothing is a set of black tighs and a matching undershirt of the same color. Over these two pieces of clothing one will find a pair of leather boots neatly embracing his legs, a pair of fingerless gloves claiming the domains of his gloves, and a sort of vest/robe lovechild. The latter piece of apparel is of a dirty shade of green on the outside, and a clear green inside, it is buttoned and both the buttons and borders of it are a bright yellow. Added to this is a hoodie in the upper end of the robe. It looks pretty. Nothing more can be said about it.
Personality:
He is intuitive, and has a very defined sense of logic. He, however, is not very fond of having to be mentally teased, and actually hates to spend much time thinking. His fists can do all the talking, y'know? He is veery confident in his skills, and with a very high-self esteem you'll find him embracing his traits with grace, especially those in the appearance department. He's just so... so pretty. He can also get very dependent with those that excel him both in fights and mentally. He will stick to those peeps like Queen Leech from the Resident Evil series, learning from their behaviors and improving his own faults that led him to be defeated by said figures in the first place.

He is organized, both in his fighting routines and pretty much any task that he must carry. He's a fan of scheduling, and more than once he will be rushing stuff around because the time he designated to it is running low. Added to this is his very energetic nature. He likes to jump and run and bounce and whatnot whenever he can, and can get in some trouble due to the ruckus created by his behavior. But he won't mind them. It's his deal to be as lousy as he wants to. Everyone else is just jealous. So yeas, you can say this is also accompanied by his insanely huge pride on him, his family and his inheritance. Most people find this last trait to be annoying, as he won't shut up saying how important his ancestors were and bla, bla, bla....

He is certain and proud of his being in a long line of Earth benders. rumor has it that his grandfathers's grandmother's uncle's cousin's brother's neighbor once saw a member of the Bei Fong family walking around. Imagine the pride they felt and gained that fateful day! ... Nah, fo' realsies, he comes rom a long line of adept earthbenders and some fighters here and there, and as such he tries to combine the best fighting skills and earthbending skills that have been passed by his family across centuries. He does not favor one over the other, but he tends to leave his bending as a last resort technique during a fight. There's no sense on destroying landmasses if you can solve issues with your fists, correct?

He is a natural leader but dislikes to lead, and as such will be found following someone around most of the time. He, however, is very keen to suggest improvements with quite some frequency, so he pretty much leads from backstage, so to speak. He dislikes being alone and will make a huge effort to be always accompanied by at least one person. He's a very nice and kind guy, supportive and cheerful... But he's got some mood issues. He gets cranky with ease and when this happens he will curse you, your clothes, the people that made them, and even the tables said people had lunch at. Avoid him with delicacy when this happens, people walking away from him makes him very irate, and if he was already cranky, then he will be furious.
Brief History:
Caesar hails from a long line of Earthbenders, as I believe was already stated. His great grandparents were very renown earthbenders who were all very known in their age. The Carnegie surname then became slowly forgotten as their descendants were all potatoes or something, seeing how none of them are as known as them, not even his parents. Even so, those who are proud of their heritage will ramble ever so constantly about how important the Carnegie were back in the date and how known they were in Ba Sing Se. Their status in society nowadays? I'm pretty sure there's a taco stand named "Carnegie's" somewhere around Republic City...

From a very young age Caesar showed fascinating for martial arts, going as far as to just skip Avatar lessons -and after the camp disbanded, his school lessons- to go practice his fighting techniques. First his parents were all annoyed, telling him that his behavior is not worthy of a Carnegie. Sod them, is he wanted to punch some stuff then he would punch some stuff.

Some family feuds arose because of this, but eventually stele in an agreement they eventually reached. Somewhat-decent grades from Caesar should arrive home, and if they did then he was free to do as he wished with his Punch-Slap-Karate-Thingies. Yes, his family is filled with fighters of the style he's practicing, but most of said fighters are right off their head and the attempt of his parents to force him stop training is mostly because of that sole fact. Still, Caesar has grown to be a very healthy young male,. both physically and mentally.

That tatto? His parents think it's fake.
Shhhhhhh, it's a secret ;]

Avatar training? Swell. He met some folks as he too got dragged from his house under the excuse of being the Avatar. His name is not Avatar, it's Caesar... Most faces met there and even the shape of the training grounds are now blurred figures in his memories. But one thing he did learn in training camp is that he can't just lean on Earthbending for whatever he does, which lead him to train even harder. This time around, his father began to help him. He might not be the Avatar, but learning how to control Eartjh and how to balance his fighting style with it has got to be some progress. Plus his grades slowly began to become not-so-mediocre so why not?

Caesar's dream is to become talented enough to participate in a pro-bending match. But for now, he'll watch and learn from those who participate in said sports matches, while slowly awaiting his own time to shine, all the while training and sweating - mostly sweating...

Sample Roleplay:
"Walking Fist!"

"Linking Fist!"

"Seize Grab!"

"Repeat!"

One set of poses, and then another. He basks and he twists, he jumps and he kicks. He punches, of course. And then he repeats. That's how a regular morning goes for him. Training in the morning where he lives, then he can go around doing what he wants in the day. There are times though, where his training lasts far too long, and when he realizes it, he's spend an entire day practicing and sweating, and has wasted a day worth of walking around the city.

But he stopped getting so much into training after being into the Avatar training thing. They sure taught him a lot of stuff, but they never really got him to incinerate stuff, to make wind sway or to go splish splosh when he came across water. This not his thing, He's just happy with earthbending and his fighting skills. They're everything it takes to make him happy.

Another fist, another grab. He notices a drip of sweat running down his face. And with that, he realizes his body drenching in sweat.

"How long?" He asks as he regains a regular standing pose. The wind smelling of damp grass blows to him as he stops to contemplate the morning beauty of Republic City. Birds flying, trees painted with several different colors, light filtering thru them and hitting the lush grass. Cars driving, people walking. The sounds of voices discussing over trivial things, and the sights of people of multiple looks and shapes. The water of the nearby lakes reflecting the light of the sun. It always makes for a great view when you live in a moderately sized house, amongst houses that look exactly the same and are facing towards a lake.

"Hour and a half." A voice interrupts him from behind, it's his father. A man that looks just like Caesar, only of a darker skin and rugged skin, more than likely from all the years he's been living and working as a construction worker.

"Just about time," Caesar laughs, he was right on time to watch a pro bending match, or, rather, another pro bending match. Being a pro bending aficionado you cannot watch enough of those matches, yes?

"Indeed." He adds with a slightly pronounced smile, "Be back around 6, or else."

"Not to worry," with that he returns to their home, contemplating his next course of action. A shower and then he'll get going, yeah, that should be it. Nothing more afterwards, just him walking around town, "I don't do anything interesting nowadays, so I'll be back quite early." A bouncing step and a whistling tune, this young male retreats to his home for a well deserved shower, always pondering the exciting battle that awaits his watching eye...

Consider this a place holder. This RP looks awesome, it's a shame you don't accept reservations though because I don't know if I'll get my SU done in time. :/

My character is a pro bender, and he'll be in at least one of the fights during our little meet-up, so yes, that's definitely a possibility! Though him and his team are doing fairly well in the matches, just FYI! So I think that's what Swifty was hinting at ;P

P.S. My guy -will not- be the avatar, just so you guyses knowses.

Name: Mizuki (also called Mi or Zuki)
Element: Water (of the Foggy Swamp Tribe) Additional weapon: dao sword

1236808_406906826081642_1405226577_n.jpg
Appearance: Mizuki stands at 5 foot 3 inches average height for a girl her age and weighs 110 pounds. She is very petite and frail looking with light-skin and wide innocent looking eyes colored a bright green. Her hair is a dark chocolate brown in color and she normally keeps her long curly hair down her back, her bangs framing her heart shaped face.

Mizuki has a very petite body type, not much muscle at all. In fact she has little to no physical strength. Though she can still fight and defend herself if the need arises. For her clothing choices she dresses unlike other water tribes in the north or south poles. Mizuki dresses in a pair of pale green pants with a dark green skirt over it. For her top she wears a dark green halter crop top the same color as her skirt. On her arms she wears long sleeves of the same color choosing to wear green in honor of the Foggy Swamp Tribe.

Personality: Mizuki is very kind and soft spoken person. She isn't known for speaking her mind but she prefers it that way. After all she is smart enough to realize that if she doesn't speak often of the important things when the time comes for her to give input people are more likely to listen to her. Aside from being very intelligent she cares deeply for the well being of others, be they human, animals or plants. She holds a deep understanding for life, though that is due to her upbringing. She was taught that all life is valuable and wants nothing more than to teach that to others.

Though just because she is kind doesn't mean Mizuki can't handle herself. She is strong in a fight never backing down, never giving up. She always tries her absolute hardest in everything she does. She is also very sneaky, due to her small size and general quietness she has developed a habit of sneaking up on those she considers friends. Not just to keep up her training but to test their awareness as well.

Mizuki also cares deeply about her friends. She will stand by them no matter what, through any hardship loyal to a fault. Her loyalty is reinforced in her strong belief in her pet Marsh. The fact that her Catgator as always stood by her side makes her belief in others that much stronger. After all if she cares enough about someone to always stand on their side no matter what, she hopes her loyalty has gained her the same thing.

Sample Role-play: Mizuki sighed as she looked at the walls in her dormitory. She had no idea why she was here. What they wanted with her. All she knew was that after she turned 5 her parents had told her she was going away for awhile. Now here she was at this camp that she told was the training camp for the avatar. I just want to go home she thought miserably. I miss ma and pa, and Marsh too...I hope Ma's taking care of him like she promised her thoughts continued as she thought of home. She missed the swamp back home. The damp hair, the murky water, all the plants and wildlife. But most of all she missed her family. "hi, are you ok?" a soft voice asked and Mizuki turned her head to see a girl her age with dark tan skin and light brown hair looking at her with expectant blue eyes.

"N-No...not really...I miss home" Mizuki said quietly looking at her lap.

"hey it's okay, we all do. But my mom said we'd only be gone a year then we'll be home you'll see" The girl said happily. "By the way my names Aya what's yours?"

"Mi-Mizuki" she said quietly looking at Aya. "a-are you a water bender too?"

"Yupp!" Aya chirped excitedly before looking at her curiously. "but...you don't look like I do" she said with all the confusion a five year old could have about that fact.

"My Ma said..." Mizuki stopped talking trying to remember. "ummm...I can't r-remember...Ma used words I didn't understand"

"Okay! You can just show me!" Aya chirped grabbing her hand and Mizuki suddenly found herself dragged from the dormitory. Once the two young girls had reached the outdoor area Aya led Mizuki to a small fountain. "can you do this?" the girl asked putting one hand over the water. As she raised it a bubble formed, though not welly formed and raised a few inches before breaking.

"Y-Yeah" Mizuki said putting her hand over the water. Taking a breath she relaxed herself and raised her hand. Much like Aya had done a small bubble formed rising a few inches before it too broke.

"Wow!" Aya squealed "You are a water bender like me" she said before a voice called out to the two.

"Mizuki! It's time for your training!" turning her head Mizuki looked at the man calling her over. "I-I'll...see you later Aya" Mizuki smiled for the first time that day before turning and making her way over to being her training.

Alright, here's my SU. Note: my character will not be the Avatar.

Aiver | Fire Bender

Name: Aiver (pronounced similar to Ivor)

Element: Fire

Additional Weapon: No additional weapons. (Check Fighting Style)

Fighting Style: More offensive than defensive, Aiver likes to do quick attacks followed up by more powerful ones or sometimes combining both. Sometimes he can be reckless in his attacks, but he makes up for them in strength. He excels the most in punching movements, capable of both power and swift jabs. He uses this as his main form of regular attacking, launching volleys of flame from his fists through punching motions. He's rather good at kicks as well, but nowhere near as good as his fists. With kicks, he more than often pairs it with flames to give it that extra edge, but again, he prefers his fists.

Gender: M

Appearance: Click Here for Sketch.

With a tall stature of 6'2", Aiver has a relatively solid build to go along with it. Not beefy by any means, but it's obvious he works out or does some sort of physical work (Pro-Bending). He's slightly more on the 'bulky' side, rather than lean and toned (Think of UFC fighters). Unlike a lot of traditional Benders who tend to grow out their hair, Aiver likes to keep his black hair somewhat short to about medium in length. When it does get too long, he will get it cut as he finds longer hair somewhat annoying. However, facial hair goes both ways for him. He usually shaves every once every few days, but don't be surprised if he lets it grow out giving him the 'rugged' or 'scruffy' look. He has a light brown skin complexion, free from any sort acne or scars or other imperfections common in youths his age. Finishing his look is his dark brown eyes, almost black if not seen up close.

His clothing is not exactly what most Fire Benders would wear. Rather than wearing the Asian-style coats, Aiver goes for a more 'streamlined' look for better movement and to compliment his body more instead of completely covering it up. His regular casual attire consists of wearing a light red t-shirt, along with black sweatpants and black boots. On top of the t-shirt, he often wears a dark red vest. When training, this is usually what he wears, with the exception of bandages wrapped around his hands and wrists, sometimes taking off the vest, and wearing the occasional bracers for resistance training. Also likes to wear gloves during matches.

Personality: More often than not, Aiver is quite frankly a lazy boy when it comes to doing things he doesn't like. The first thing on his mind is usually Pro-Bending, training, eating, and sleeping. Even when he's not doing any of those, he tries to think of different ways to improve his training, or implement something else into his routine whether it be new exercises or improving diet. He's more competitive than anything, and runs a mouth to go along with it. Spewing out cocky statements and the occasional put-downs, Aiver likes to rile people up. He isn't scared of getting physical if that's what comes down to it, even if it happens to be a girl. In fact, although he doesn't say it, he does view girls inferior to men when it comes down to a Bending match. The only exception to this is the Avatar. He's by no means a sexist, just the typical teenage 'boys are better than girls' type.

Despite this aggressive and annoying personality, Aiver does tend to be alone most times. He would much rather be by himself than with others, unless it is either training with other people, talking about Pro-Bending, or if he hanging out with people in the came 'clique' as him. Over time his personality has shunned most people away so he has grown accustomed to this, by only hanging out with boys that share his same cocky and competitive attitude. But even then, there's only so much testosterone someone can be around.

Aiver prefers a more direct approach to training, such as hitting hard and fast, instead of defensive strategies. It's just not his way of sparring or fighting in competitions, and he never really bothered to learn any defensive techniques seeing as there are always teammates to pick up slack for him. Something he absolutely hates is when people tell him or give him workout/training advice. If it's one thing he takes personal is when other people give input on what he should do to get better. He knows they mean well, and sometimes may try to act polite and just acknowledge the advice, but he honestly could care less about other people's input. Sharing training exercises is a different story though. In fact, there's a better chance of him using other people's ideas if they were to simply state their routine rather than just tell Aiver he's doing something wrong.

~

Sample Roleplay: Aiver eyed the three targets that stood 20 feet from him. it wasn't a long distance, but at his age, this was considered to be a hard task indeed. There was only so much control a five-year old could have over their bending powers, and he was certain no amount of training would change that. His first task was to successfully break all the targets using his skills as a natural Fire-Bender. It didn't matter how, but he had to. Fireballs maybe...? Aiver looked down into his palms, and then turned his attention back to the targets. Without hesitation, he shot a vibrant, red fireball at the middle target, hoping to incinerate it. He watched the fireball launch out of his hands, and whiz right by the target with a loud hiss. I missed...aww man. He was more irritated than disappointed and puffed up his face in an unamused look. They're tricking me...this is too hard.

"Try again." A man's voice was heard behind him. Aiver turned around. "I said, try it again. This time, raise your hand at the target you want to hit." Aiver gave a confused look. He wanted to say something, but for some reason was intimidated by the man. Slowly, Aiver turned back to the targets. The man said raise my hand to the target.... He closed one eye, and held his hand out, palms facing one of the targets. He eyed his fireball's destination, and quickly launched another one. He watched as the fireball blazed through the air and exploded upon impact of the target, completely incinerating it setting it ablaze in small flame. "That's not bad. It wasn't excellent, but not bad." The man spoke once again. Aiver just looked at him, still scared, too intimidated to say anything. He held his chest out, tried to muster up the courage to say something. I have to...I can't be scared...

"Umm..." He said in his squeaky five-year old voice. "D-Did you want me to...hit the others targets too?" He said, fiddling around with his fingers. The man walked up to him, and kneeled down, facing him at eye level. "Take a snack break first." He smiled. Aiver looked blankly, but nodded. He held the man's hand, as they walked into a separate room a little farther away in another part of the training camp. He let go of the man's hand as he headed over to a table with food. There was fruit, juice, rice and various types of meat. Aiver grabbed a small plate of fruit and sat down at a table by himself. He looked around and saw some other kids laughing and eating together. Should I talk to them...? Inside he wanted to interact with the other kids, but he didn't know what to say or even how to approach them. He tried to think of something to get his mind off of being alone, and the first thing that came was the target practice. Yeah...I need to get better. I'm here to train and be big and strong. He took a bite of his fruit. Mommy will be proud to have a strong son when I grow up...I'll be stronger than dad, and everyone back at the village. He smiled to himself, taking another bite of the slice of green fruit in front of him.

DONE!!! YAY ME!!!.

Nathan Steele | Earth Bender

Fq5es2t.jpg
Name: Nathan Steele
Element: Earth Bending
Additional weapon:
This sword is known as the Buster Sword by many but Nathan nicknamed it Kuronagi. This sword is very heavy and almost impossible to maneuver without a good training. To be able to lift it, Nathan has to use earth bending on his hands to support the weight of the sword. Even when he uses it, the sword can be hard be hard to maneuver and exhausts him quickly. That why he also uses it to train his stamina and power. It was a gift of his father before he moved to the training camp.
Appearance: Nathan stands at an impressive 6'3" for 18 years of age which makes him considerably taller than average teens at his age. He has brown hair that he almost never likes to comb due to his laziness. But however, they are still attracting from the compliments some girls gave him. He isn't a considerably muscled boy but he still got a decent body, good enough that he isn't envious of any muscular guy.
Since he isn't one of the "Mr Muscle" type, he can be quite agile and thus fast. His clothing isn't diverse as he usually likes to stick to only one type of clothes and also only one type of color, his favorite: black. He is usually seen wearing a black leather top that covers his torso only but leaves his arms nude, 2 black leather gloves to cover every part of his hands except his fingers, a black pair of baggy pants and some black shoes. He carries Kuronagi on his back usually.
Personality: In his everyday life, Nathan is quite the lazy kid except when he trains and fights. In these two activities, Nathan tends to give all his might. He prefers doing these better than anything in the world. Except maybe sleeping or eating. He tends to brag about his strength and sword quite a lot and likes to provoke other people. Often referred as a "lady killer", he really enjoys being around them and never misses an occasion to flirt with one of them. Despite having some defects, Nathan is a caring friend, always there to lend an ear or a shoulder to the ones who need it. He likes to enjoy a good laugh with his friends and will not back up at anything to save them.
RP Sample: Nathan was closed in his room. He was still sad at the idea that he was away from his home, away from his parents. But he was also angry that they didn't stand and stop these men from taking him away from his home. His dad just gave him that huge sword that he couldn't even lift. If he didn't have a skilled bender help him carry the sword, he would have been dead by now. How was he going to walk with such a sword? He is just a mere 5 years old boy. There was almost no way he could master this sword. But why did his dad give him the sword if he knew he wouldn't be able to master it in the year he would stay at the camp. Or was he really going to stay just a year? Maybe more. He had no idea. He looked at the sword. "I need to be able to use it." There was some sand on the ground. Even better. He would just use his bending to lift the sword. His hand should be stronger that way. But what if he couldn't keep it for even a minute? He lifted his right hand over the sand. As usual, the sand covered his whole hand. Then he tried to lift the sword. But that thing was really heavy! He couldn't even lift it. He was going to try again. Once again, the sand covered his hand but this time, he was able to make the sword move by a few centimeters. He sat on the bed, exhausted and panting. "Woah, that was quite a lift. I'll name you Kuronagi, you'll be my partner from now on!" Yes, this sword would accompany him wherever fate led them.

Yeah no problem, take your time. I may edit it a bit if I see fit (more descriptive and whatnot). May also attach a pic.

EDIT: I have attached a quick sketch in the SU.

Ryan Cutlass - Water Bender

Name: Ryan Cutlass
Element: Water!
Additional weapon: Golden Cutlass with blue linings on the pummel and sides. Blade can be frozen over with a sharp layer of ice to deal more damage. Ryan also possesses a Water Falcon named Falco, which very much resembles a falcon with a seal-like tail.

Appearance:

Ryan, as most Water Benders of the URN, comes from a cold place. Very cold place. A snowy plain, to be exact, surrounded by a mountainous area which is extremely hard to go through. And due to the cold climate there, Ryan wears warm, heavy clothes to protect himself from the harsh climate and weather conditions. This includes a navy blue coat, a blue jacket he wears even when sleeping, dark blue leggings, a simple scarf and leather belt, and warm leather boots, made of Walrus skin. He also carries with him a small gourd/bottle (however you wanna call it) attacked to his belt containing distilled water for bending; in case no water/snow/ice is around; however he prefers using his cutlass in these situations.

In terms of body, Ryan is pretty tall for his age, and has always been looked up to (literally) for this. His hair is Dark brown with a wisp of lighter brown hair over his forehead. As most water benders, his eyes are of a deep shade of blue. Despite his great length, he is not considered bulky and is mostly skinny - having not much muscle to back up his tall looks - and is quite agile for his size, especially at sword-fighting and ranged combat. He is also an expert at handling battleships and other boats, as well as fighting in the water and swimming at great speeds.

Personality:

As suggested by the interesting family name, Ryan comes from a family of Pirates. Yes, you read it right: pirates. While him and his relatives are not anymore, their ancestors certainly were, and their rowdy, hasty behavior definitely stuck to the family line. Ryan is an excited, fun-looking individual, who talks much - too much. He is incredibly social and will walk up to anybody to end up chatting with them like they are best friends. Other might call him childish at times, too.

He often gives others the feeling of being silenced by him, as he usually hogs conversations. He also possesses the ability to "smooth talk" with ladies, which often results in him getting slaps to the face and possibly worse injuries (especially when involving cute fire-benders). Despite his hastiness, he is never arrogant and rarely enjoys leadership or responsibility, even though he takes it seriously when needed.

Brief History *sigh*:

As mentioned before, Ryan's family comes from a famous line of Pirates and Seafarers all over the cold water kingdom, and beyond. I feel that before we go to speak about Ryan we should talk about one of his ancestors who resembled him very much: Edward "Falco" Cutlass.

The name had been made up by his own enemies and admirers, in fear of him. The young pirate was feared for his handling of battleships and huge vessels, as well as hand-to-hand/sword combat, robberies, and even assassinations. His most popular feat is the event where he narrowly escaped a whole legion of Water-palace guards, by blinding them with an enormous flock of sea falcons, giving him the name "Falco".

As a child, Ryan was diagnosed with hyperactivity (something which his ancestor also "suffered" from), making him a very turbulent and curious child. In an attempt to cure this, his mother took him to his grandfather, who was the old village psychic; and who taught Ryan meditation and how to surmount his physical hyperactivity by using his mind to calm it. this was when they realized Ryan was more than just a normal waterbender, he actually talked to the water.

This caused Ryan to rely more on his head and mouth than his body, and eventually overcome his hyperactivity. In the time he was at the training camp, he always sat in the middle of groups and always tried to befriend the other children, often making jokes, and quickly making him popular among the children.

Back home, Ryan's grandfather taught him about his ancestors (both pirate and honest), but Ryan was fascinated by Edward. Noticing this, his grandfather told him he looked a lot like him, and so proceeded to teach him about him.

A few years later, as Ryan got older (around 14-15), his grandfather started teaching him the higher bases of waterbending, such as the formation of ice. Meanwhile his father taught him seafaring, and swimming. It was all happy until the day his grandfather passed away.

Ryan was broken apart by his grandfather's death, and stayed many weeks inside without bothering to eat or do anything else. It was then when his mother walked in, holding a basket with a curiously large egg in it. It was a last gift from his grandfather, a Water Falcon egg, just like the one his ancestors used. In the memory of Edward Cutlass, he decided to name the bird "Falco".

Sample Roleplay:

"You see this water?" said the instructor Ryan was working with, and pointed to a small, circular puddle filled with water. She had been mentoring him for a whole week now, and Ryan was getting used to her, and how she wanted things done. "I want it gone. Easy, right?"

Ryan nodded, confident he was going to be able to do it. Just how do to it, he still had to figure out. Did she want it moved somewhere else? Did she want it to disappear? Did she want it to turn into something else? All these questions floated in his mind as the child wondered how to do the task.

Maybe if I ask it to go with my water-thingy... I dunno.

He hesitated at first, scratching his head. "Well?" said the instructor, raising a brow, smiling. 'you said it was easy, no?"

"Hold on, my head is thinking!" the child interrupted, and looked at the water. "Hgnnn..."

The water started bubbling and frothing, slowly rising to the edge the puddle and then quickly back down to the bottom, as if it was breathing independently. Then suddenly, out of nowhere, globs of water splashed out, hitting both Ryan and the instructor in the face. Instants later it stooped, and the pool where the water had been was now empty.

The instructor came up to him, and handed him a towel to dry his face. "You did it... Not as I expected, but you did. Good job, pirate boy." she said. Ryan smiled. 'Oh, it was easy, you know. It's just my head who does it all, I don't do anything, really! My mommy-" the instructor put a hand on his shoulder. "Whoa there, matey, slow down. There's more to do. Show me more, then we can talk." she told him, smiling.

ERMEHGERD AVATAR RP. I WILL FINISH THIS LATER. BUT ERMEHGERD.

Name: Angelique Everett
Element: Fire
Additional Weapon: A pack of weaponized playing cards. I'm not kidding. Moderately weighted, incredibly sharp, durable under most circumstances, and can be lit on fire for approx. 3 minutes without disintegrating. Only downfall? Somewhat easy to avoid, unless thrown in multiples. They're pretty avoidable if you know how they work. Also, you can't really play cards with them. :P These are generally bad when used in close range, although can be much more difficult to dodge depending on the distance between.

Appearance: BLAH SHE'S MODERATE I'LL FINISH THIS LATER
Personality: IN PROGRESS
Brief History: SHE BE LIKE, "IMMA BE THE AVATAR"

Sample Roleplay: This should be fun to write, considering that most five-year olds don't have much of a memory and probably can't articulately narrate well unless they're a living child prodigy. I guess if we're potential avatars, we might be just that. I'll see what I can do.

I was totally gonna sign up for airbender but SB called Modzy dibs :( Plus, Waterbender seems to have a lot of competition. It's you vs me, Jegritis! >:D

Awe man I hate competition lol. Oh well, we'll see how this goes.

I don't suppose there's a chance of accepting 2 of each Bending element is there?

@Jegretis: I won't rule it completely out, but we'd -prefer- one of each element. However, I can see how people would find it tough to RP a metalbender, so we might not get one, and if the SUs we get are interesting enough... well, we'll see. Don't get your hopes up though :P

Will have a Bio up tonight!

EDIT: (Place hold)

Name: Omari
Element: Fire
Additional weapon: None

Appearance:
Personality:
Brief History:

Sample Roleplay: This should be a piece about your time at Avatar training camp, aged five. It can be you being taken from your home or physically training. At this point you do not know who the avatar is (or if you, yourself are the avatar). The location of the training camp is top secret, all you know is it is underground and a long way from home. It is similar to a warehouse, but does have outdoor areas and a dormitory room to sleep in.

Be sure that we're thoroughly reading and discussing every one of the SUs before making a decision!

@Jnathan: As I'm just the co-gm, I'll have to talk to Swift first :P

Alright, thanks for clearing that up SB :3
Another question!
When it comes to weapons, is a specific kind of weapon a no-no for this RP?
Like, swords or whatever?
And can a fighting style be considered as a weapon? :o

@EliteBeats: Well, if you want to elaborate on your character's fighting style, you're welcome to write about it in the 'weapon' part, but it's not at all required, could have that anywhere, really :P

As for weapons.. I haven't really talked to Swifty about it, but I'd imagine some swords could be okay, but you gotta keep in mind, it'd be hard to run around with a sword without being at least talked to by the police once or twice, since it takes place in Republic City. So swords are definitely not a no-no. Just keep in mind, it might be hard to keep a hold of it ;P
