Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire
Speculation & Giveaway Contest

Information

Welcome to the Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire Speculation Contest! Since this forum opened just a short few days ago, the speculation discussion has been at an all time high with no end in sight. That said, we want to take advantage of everyone's creative juices by introducing the Speculation Contest! What the contest essentially does is challenges you to imagine the new Hoenn region and all of its nooks and crannies. Will Professor Birch still forget his dog whistle on the counter at home? Will the scientist in Oldale still be obsessed with footprints? You're in the driver's seat: you decide!

The guidelines/things to remember are as follows:
— copy and paste the list below into your post and fill out your answers appropriately
— you may edit your post as often as you'd like and bonus points will be awarded to those who predict correctly, but it will be obvious to know if you edited in a particular answer after something was revealed so don't try to cheat!
— the thread will be closed during news leaks (Pokemon Smash, CoroCoro, Pokemon TV, etc) in order to circumvent any possible cheating
— as news is leaked, questions answered will be updated in the opening post and can no longer be answered
— as more ambiguous news is leaked, more questions will be added to the first post to answer, so keep an eye out
— this thread is not for discussion; do not post anything here except answers

There will be two winners, both decided based on their post's creativity, uniqueness, and whether or not it would make logical sense for certain events to play out. For the winner's efforts, they will be awarded a physical copy of their choice of Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire. First place will choose their copy and second place will receive the one unchosen. As an alternative to a physical copy, those uncomfortable with providing personal details will receive an Amazon voucher so they can purchase their copy of the game.

Please direct any and all questions to Antemortem or Pepperton via Private Message!

Who will be the protagonists?
You'll be a customizable character like in X & Y since the game will probably take place in the future and your rival will be the son/daughter of either May or Brendan :P
What role will Wally play?
Maybe he'll be the Champion or some "legendary person" who helps you along the way.
What roles do you think Juan, Wallace, and Steven will fill?
Juan and Wallace will probably keep their original roles but Steven will probably help you along the way if Wally is the Champion. (Or maybe the Champion will be May or Brendan :O!)
Will there be any other League-related changes?
I think they'll just change the Pokémon and include those from newer generations. The Champion will change and maybe 1-2 of the Elite Four with other characters from the original games.
Will Scott make a return? If so, what as?
He'll probably keep his role in search of another cool trainer after those from the original games moved on.
What will Rayquaza's role in the story be?
Still the peacemaker for Groudon and Kyogre (maybe it'll have to mega evolve :O)
Assume Kyogre and Groudon receive Mega Evolutions. What do you think
— their types / abilities / signature moves will be?
Groudon will probably be Fire/Ground (I've always wondered why it wasn't a fire type) Kyogre might be Water/Steel. The abilities will probably stay the same, as well as their signature moves (Water spout/Eruption) Or they might make new ones specifically for them.
— their roles in the games will be?
They'll discover their Megastones and go berserk and fight again.
— of their Megastones being the Red/Blue Orbs? Or will they be something else?
They probably will be the Megastones since they kind of look like them. Or something will happen to the orbs that will turn them into Megastones.
What will the Version Exclusive Pokemon be?
Pokémon like Plusle/Minun (ones with a partner) Probably Groudon/Kyogre as well.
Will Generation IV - VI Pokemon be available in the wild?
Not as much as X & Y. Perhaps there will be new areas where IV-VI Pokémon are more common.
— If so, what Pokemon will be included/excluded?
I'm not sure. Just a few extra Pokémon that correspond with the types in that area. EX: Mt Pyre will have more Ghost Pokémon from newer generations.
What new Mega Evolutions will be introduced?
The legendaries and more Hoenn Pokémon?
Where will the stones for the new Mega Evolutions be hidden?
For the legendary Pokémon, they'll be where the Blue/Red Orbs originally were. As for the rest, they'll be sprinkled around the game like X & Y.
New areas to be introduced?
Yes! Probably South-East since there's a lot of water and empty islands.
Ideas for post-game content?
Battle Frontier upgrade! As well as cool contests.

Who will be the protagonists?

May and Brendan will return with new designs, and will be customizable.

What role will Wally play?

He'll be one of the rivals. He'll appear more than in the originals. He will hopefully appear at the BF. He'll get Mega Gallade instead of Mega Gardevoir.

What roles do you think Juan, Wallace, and Steven will fill?

Wallace will be champion, or they'll make Steven and Wallace version exclusive champions. Juan will stay the gym leader or he'll be the gym leader in the game Wallace is the champion.

Will there be any other League-related changes?

The Elite four will get their Emerald teams instead of their RS teams. The Elite four members will stay the same.

Will Scott make a return? If so, what as?

He will. He'll talk about the Battle Frontier. He'll also tell us about the different kinds of battle forms they are such as double, triples, etc.
What will Rayquaza's role in the story be?

Rayquaza will likely play the same role it did in Emerald. However something will happen in which it won't be able to stop the mascot, just the opposite version's mascot. I'm guessing the mascot's mega evolution will throw a wrench into Rayquaza putting a stop on things.

Assume Kyogre and Groudon receive Mega Evolutions. What do you think
— their types / abilities / signature moves will be?
Groudon will be made Ground/Fire. It'll have the ability Magma Aura. It's signature move will be Eruption (even though it's known by others). Maybe it'll also gain a new move. Kyogre will be Water and may gain the psychic or Ice types and gain Aqua Aura. It's signature move will be Water Spout. It may also gain another new move not in XY.

Rayquaza will also get a Primal. Perhaps Dragon/Electric with Levitate as it's ability, or Flying/Dragon (yes reversed the type order to make Rayquaza look more like a sky diety) with an ability that counters Primal Groudon and Kyogre's. Or maybe even two Primals? Her Primal will likely be revealed on the September issue of Corocoro (or on the official site on the 16th if it's not on corocoro) as a sign of the 10th year anniversary of Emerald's release in Japan.
— their roles in the games will be?
They'll play the same roles they did in Emerald. However they'll go Primal and change things and proceed to head to Origin cave like in the original pair. There we will need to stop it.
— of their Megastones being the Red/Blue Orbs? Or will they be something else?
Their Red and Blue orbs will shatter, revealing Mega Stones buried within, mega stones created by the Super Ancient Power they've been storing up. I speculate that something about these orbs actually being made from energy that accumulated over the eons will be revealed. A similar event will occur with the Jade orb for Rayquaza.
What will the Version Exclusive Pokemon be?
OR
Palkia

Reshiram
Lugia
Latios
Solosis
AS
Dialga
Zekrom
Ho-oh
Latias
Gothorita

Pokemon that require the other exclusive to obtain (added this part to my list):
Kyurem
Giratina

Will Generation IV - VI Pokemon be available in the wild? They will, but in post game most likely.
One of them will be Solosis who will be found my Mt. Chimney to reference how extremophiles live in Mt. Asu which Chimney is based on.
— If so, what Pokemon will be included/excluded?
What new Mega Evolutions will be introduced? Mega Sceptile Omega and Alpha, Seviper, Zangoose, Delcatty, Luxray, Flygon, Swampert, Dusklops, Sableye, Lugia, Ho-oh, (Regice, Registeel, Regirock, Regigigas well more like Primals for these four)Gallade, Raichu, Ninjask, Shedinja, Tropius, Exploud, Sharpedo, Camerupt,Milotic, Mega Spinda, Mega Shuckle, Mega Ursaring, Mega Donphan, Mega Swellow, Mega Noctowl, Mega Kingdra, and several others. Also Shiftry and Ludicolo will get one. Shiftry will be available only in Omega Ruby and Ludicolo only in Alpha Sapphire.
Where will the stones for the new Mega Evolutions be hidden? Some will be like Gallade's. Those of the legends will be in the spots you capture them like Mewtwo or somewhere nearby. Either Norman or Steven will give us the stone for our starter to Mega evolve. We will be able to buy the other two at the department store in Lilicove.
New areas to be introduced?

The will be three new routes and several towns, a lot of new areas to explore. Also a snowy mountain will be added where we will be able to capture ice types post game.

Ideas for post-game content?
The Battle Frontier will return. Also half of the places mentioned in the new areas will be available similar to how we could only go to the first three of the seven Sevii islands. Also the PWT will make a comeback in some form for the post game. Cynthia will appear and tell the player about the Creation trio. She and the Hoenn champions (Steven and Wallace) will play a role in the event. Another event is Norman will tell the player that a legend from their home region (Ho-oh or Lugia depending on your version) has appeared in Hoenn. He will suggest to the player to find it and capture it. If you show it to him he'll give you it's Mega stone.

Who will be the protagonists?
- Brendan and May of course, with typical remake redesigns and ability to customize their outfits.

What role will Wally play?
- He'll probably remain more or less the same as far as backstory goes, but I'd like to see battles with him become more recurring and definitely join Brendan and May in their fight against Team Aqua/Magma.

What roles do you think Juan, Wallace, and Steven will fill?
- Juan will be a generic Sootopolis NPC in charge of guarding the entryway into the Cave of Orgin that convices the player challenge his protegé at the gym as proof of their worthiness. Wallace and Steven will remain more or less unchanged from their original R/S roles.

Will there be any other League-related changes?
- As with FRLG and HGSS, the Pokémon League will remain true to the originals during the main plot with the exception of Steven using MegaMetagross, but for post-game rematches, anything goes.

Will Scott make a return? If so, what as?
- I see him functioning similarly to the Safari Warden in HGSS. He'll come out of nowhere mid/late-game and announce the existence of his Battle Frontier to you, but seem you unworthy of competing. Only after beating Steven will he approach you to invite you to compete and give you the appropriate SS Tidal ticket.

What will Rayquaza's role in the story be?
- He'll appear in cutscenes dealing with Team Aqua/Magma to foil their plans at controlling Kyogre/Groudon, before going back into the sky. Much like in Ruby/Sapphire, he'll be pretty much just a post-game prize after his plot purposes are fulfilled.

Assume Kyogre and Groudon receive Mega Evolutions. What do you think
— their types / abilities / signature moves will be?

- MegaGroudon: Ground/Grass-type, Sun's Gift ability (Groudon and all allies gain 1.5x Atk and Def so long as the sun is still out)
- MegaKyogre: Water/Electric-type, Storm's Gift ability (Kyogre and all allies gain 1.5x Sp.Atk and Sp.Def so long as it's still raining)

— their roles in the games will be?
Same as before, however this time, scientists loyal to Team Aqua/Magma would be attempting to bring out their "true potential" (aka, mega evolution) through devious means to increase the potency of their power when they do awaken them.

— of their Megastones being the Red/Blue Orbs? Or will they be something else?
Never thought of that before, though to fir into my above theory, the Red/Blue orbs being tampered with by Team Aqua/Magma scientists create an unusual mutation in the stones.

What will the Version Exclusive Pokemon be?
- On top of the old version exclusives (Ruby has Seedot, Mawile, Zangoose, Solrock, and Groudon while Sapphire had Lotad, Sableye, Seviper, Lunatone, and Kyogre), I can see Oddish and Budew becoming counterparts as well as Grimer and Koffing.

Will Generation IV - VI Pokemon be available in the wild?
- I'd doubt it. Perhaps as post-game swarms and in hidden areas blocked off until after the E4.

— If so, what Pokemon will be included/excluded?
The best candidates are those on this list of pokémon completely unobtainable in XY without transfers or trades. Regigigas and Shellos are also obvious choices.

What new Mega Evolutions will be introduced?
- Sceptile, Swampert, Swellow, Sableye, Sharpedo, Camerupt, Milotic, Metagross, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza

Who will be the protagonists?

  • May & Brendan, because these are remakes and not sequels; customizable outfits will make a return with possible swimwear due to Hoenn's largely ocean-based routes and the Dive mechanic.
What role will Wally play?

  • I'm expecting Wally's role to be reinforced as the game's more serious rival, with May/Brendan remaining as the friendlier one. I believe we'll be seeing more of him throughout Hoenn, possibly even as a part of the Team Aqua/Magma plot, but that may just be wishful thinking. He'll later appear as a rival again at the Battle Frontier and possess a Mega Gallade.
What roles do you think Juan, Wallace, and Steven will fill?

  • I expect Wallace to reprise his role as the 8th Gym Leader while Steven fills the spot of Champion once again. As for Juan, I'd like to see him as a Contest Rival and possibly a hidden Trainer in the post-game. Maybe receive a Shiny Feebas as a reward for defeating him?
Will there be any other League-related changes?

  • Aside from obvious retcons of Gym Leader and E4 teams, I don't believe we'll see any of the Gym Leaders or E4 replaced of shuffled around. These are remakes, remember, not sequels, so it wouldn't really make sense to remove or switch anyone around that wasn't in the originals.
Will Scott make a return? If so, what as?

  • Yes, and as the promoter and talent scout of the Battle Frontier, of course! I'd like to see Scott be a battable character, at least once, just for the novelty of it.
What will Rayquaza's role in the story be?

  • Despite them remaking Ruby and Sapphire as compared to simply remaking Emerald, I still think Rayquaza will play a pivotal role in the game, possibly with Wally as well. The way I see it, each game will focus on their respective evil teams and their attempts to gain control of Kyogre/Groudon. Well, as you know, there are two orbs which can control these two titanic Pokemon. In the games, you are given the orb that isn't stolen by Archie/Maxie and use it later on to battle and capture Kyogre/Groudon. I believe we'll see a flip in the stories, with Team Magma being the main villains in AS and Aqua being the antagonists of OR. This flip would result in you battling Archie/Maxie (Each controlling their respective legendary beast) with Kyogre/Groudon. Rayquaza would then, once again, swoop in and halt the battling, possibly being awakened by Wally, or simply by the battle between Groudon and Kyogre. Rayquaza would then be found at the top of Sky Pillar, but could only be accessed if the player is in possession of the Green Orb, obtained by reuniting the Red and Blue Orbs.
Assume Kyogre and Groudon receive Mega Evolutions. What do you think
— their types / abilities / signature moves will be?

  • Types would remain the same as no possible dual-typings (Aside from Ground/Fire for Groudon) would be logical or beneficial to them.
  • Abilities would also remain the same, if not slightly tweaked (Improved accuracy for STAB moves or slight power buff to Electric/Ground moves since Sunny weather and Heavy Rain don't enhance Groudon's STAB or Kyogre's perfect-accuracy Thunder).
  • Signature moves are on the table since Mewtwo got one, finally, in Gen V. I think something along the lines of:
    • Tsunami: Water//Special//120 BP//5 PP//100% Accuracy// A tremendous wave floods the entire field, hitting all targets.
    • Seismic Rift: Ground//Physical//120 BP//5 PP//95% Accuracy// A rift in the earth opens beneath the target, swallowing them whole and possibly leaving a burn. 30% chance of inflicting Burn.
— their roles in the games will be?

  • Mega Kyogre and Mega Groudon will either remain as post-game content, or be a prominent part of the games' plot. Archie and Maxie may use the beasts in their Mega Formes during the game's climax to add a little extra theatricality. If not, I would imagine their Mega Formes would be revealed to you by the old couple atop Mt. Pyre since they seem to be the two most well-informed individuals on the Legendary Weather Pokemon, aside from Wallace, who may also gift you with the beasts' respective Mega Stones based on your version.
— of their Megastones being the Red/Blue Orbs? Or will they be something else?

  • If they don't use the Red and Blue Orbs as the Mega Stones then they will have missed a very logical opportunity. The orbs have a deep connection with Kyogre and Groudon, so it stands to reason that the stones would also be the key to unlocking their Mega Evolutions.
What will the Version Exclusive Pokemon be?

  • Omega Ruby: Rattatta, Raticate, Koffing, Weezing, Misdreavus, Ho-Oh, Seedot, Nuzleaf, Shiftry, Mawile, Minun, Volbeat, Zangoose, Solrock, Shuppet, Banette, Groudon, Latios, Cherubi, Cherrim, Mismagius, Glameow, Purugly, Cottonee, Whimsicott, Darumaka, Darmanitan, Elygem, Beeheeyem, Bouffalant Tornadus, Reshiram

  • Alpha Sapphire: Meowth, Persian, Porygon, Porygon-2, Stantler, Lugia, Lotad, Lombre, Ludicolo, Sableye, Plusle, Illumise, Seviper, Lunatone, Duskull, Dusclops, Kyogre, Latias, Kricketot, Kricketune, Buneary, Lopunny, Finneon, Lumineon, Dusknoir, Porygon-Z, Yamask, Cofagrigus, Frillish, Jellicent, Tynamo, Eelektrik, Eelektross, Thundurus, Zekrom
Reasoning: Minus the Hoenn exclusives (which are the same as the original games with the additions of Plusle/Minun, Volbeat/Illumise, Shuppet & Bannette/Duskull, Dusclops, & Dusknoir, and Latias/Latios), the rest of the Pokemon listed are all Pokemon unattainable in X & Y outside of using the PokeTransfer system. It stands to reason that they would make these otherwise unattainable Pokemon available on a different game as further motivation for dedicated gamers to buy these remakes outside of nostalgia and Gen III-stans. The dividing-up of exclusives may seem to skew in-favor of AS, but I split them in this manner because both games still come out with 21 exclusive families of Pokemon each (As in, Evolutionary Lines). I also took into account the theme of each version's exclusives, with Ruby being obviously more centered around Pokemon that benefit from the Drought ability and are generally more "sunny" in design as compared to Sapphire, which is centered around "cooler" Pokemon and those that benefit from Drizzle.

Will Generation IV - VI Pokemon be available in the wild?
— If so, what Pokemon will be included/excluded?

  • I would imagine we'd see Gen IV and Gen V Pokemon, but definitely no Gen VI Pokemon. With X & Y still so fresh on the market, the exclusion of Gen VI Pokemon in the games would help to boost X & Y sales for those interested in completing the National Dex (even with access to Global Trading, some people still prefer to just capture the Pokemon themselves and trade between their own games). As for the Gen IV and Gen V Pokemon included, I want to say we'll get a very small number, possibly limited only to the version-exclusive families I listed above and maybe two or three other families that are exclusive to the Friend Safari in X & Y.
What new Mega Evolutions will be introduced?

  • GameFreak has trademarked Mega Sceptile, Mega Swampert, Mega Plusle, Mega Minun, Mega Kyogre, Mega Groudon, and Mega Rayquaza, so I think it's safe to say that they will be receiving Mega Evolutions. I also believe Sableye and Dusknoir will recieve Megas to round-out the Mega Evolutions given to Mawile and Banette. I can also see a Mega Evolution for Volbeat and Illumise, as they are considered rather mediocre and overlooked Pokemon and could use the attention. Flygon, Metagross, Milotic, Altaria, Mightyena, Delcatty, and Kecleon all seem to be strong possibilities also due to popularity and/or otherwise underwhelming stats Other possible Megas outside of Gen III, in my opinion, are Jynx, Mr. Mime, Farfetch'd, Delibird, Girafarig, Wobbuffet, Azumarill, and Gallade. Reasoning behind these choices are as followed:
    • Jynx has been a popular fan-choice to receive an evolution since the introduction of Magmortar and Electivire, effectively removing Jynx from the "triad" it was once a part of, up to Gen III. A Mega Evolution would not amend this, but it could serve as a good alternative to the evolution players have been asking for.
    • Mr. Mime has never been a particularly popular or strong Pokemon, but it was retconned in Gen VI as a Fairy/Psychic-type, giving it credence as a viable candidate for future Mega Evolution due to this seemingly random boon to an otherwise obscure Pokemon.
    • Farfetch'd & Delibird have both been seen as novelty Pokemon; nothing more than collectibles due to their incredibly low BST's and typings. Evolutions have been hoped for for these two for quite a while, with an almost-believable hoax surfacing at the time of Gen V's announcement, so Mega Evolutions may not be out of the realm of possibilities for these two.
    • Girafarig...well, to be straight-forward, I just think it's a worthy Mega-candidate. Something like having its tail-end become dominate and its typing changing to Dark/Normal or even Dark/Psychic. I dunno, just a cool concept, to me.
    • Both Wobbuffet and Azumarill are the only Pokemon from a previous generation to receive new additions to their evolutionary families in Gen III; both received pre-evolutions in the forms of Wynaut and Azurill. This, along with Azumarill's retcon as a Fairy and Wobbuffet's popularity due to the anime and its infamous competitive potential, leads me to believe that these two are almost guaranteed Megas.
    • Gallade is actually pretty self-explanatory. Gardevoir received a Mega in Gen VI and was showcased as Champion Diantha's star Pokemon...so, wouldn't it make sense that Gallade would also receive a Mega since Ralts is the star Pokemon of your rival, Wally? We all know that Wally will end up battling with Gallade since Kirlia now has a Male-exclusive Evolution.
Where will the stones for the new Mega Evolutions be hidden?

  • Sceptile and Swampert's, along with Blaziken's, would be mid-game from either Professor Birch or May/Brendan. You would receive the stone correlating to your starter choice. One would then later be received from May/Brendan, and the other could be bought from Steven Stone.
  • Dusknoir's would obviously be hidden on Mt. Pyre and be a Alpha Sapphire-exclusive, opposite Bannette's that would be found in the same place.
  • Sableye's would be located in a new part of Granite Cave, counterpart to Mawile's.
  • Plusle and Minun's would be gifts to you from Wattson as a reward for fixing the generator in New Mauville.
  • Volbeat and Illumise's would be received as prizes for beating your first contest in Verdanturf Town.
  • Flygon's would be located in the desert portion of Route 111.
  • Metagross's would be a gift from Steven after replacing him as Champion.
  • Milotic's would be a prize for winning every Master Rank Contest in Lilycove City, or, alternatively, as a reward for showing an NPC at the Lilycove Contest Hall a Milotic with Max Beauty.
  • Altaria's would be located somewhere in Fortree City.
  • Kecleon's would be located on Route 120.
  • Mightyena's and Delcatty's would be received as rewards from the "footprint specialist" that blocks your path in Oldale Town at the beginning of the game. After he realizes he was sketching his own footprints, you can talk to him and receive a request to see a specific Pokemon's footprint each day. If you can successfully show him the Pokemon's footprint that he wants ten times, he'll reward you with your choice of the Mightyencite or the Delcatticite.
  • Jynx's would be found in the icy area of Shoal Cave.
  • Mr. Mime's would be given as a reward for completing the last level of the Trick House.
  • Farfetch'd's and Delibird's would be bought from a salesman on the roof of the Lilycove Dept. Store, but only on Special Sale Days. Farfetchicite would be purchasable in Omega Ruby, and Delibirdicite would be purchasable in Alpha Sapphire.
  • Girafarig's would be found in the Safari Zone.
  • Wobbuffet's would be received as a gift by hatching the Wynaut given to you at Lavaridge Town. If you raise it to MAX Happiness, the same old woman will give you the Wobbuffite after you become Champion and initiate the Mega Stone sub-quest.
  • Azumarill's would be located in a Dive Spot near Pacificlog Town.
  • Gallade's would be a gift from Wally for completing the Battle Frontier.
New areas to be introduced?

Hoenn.png

  • The areas circled in red, to me, seem like the most plausible new areas we'd get to explore, if new areas are included. Some would argue that the large landmass south of Pacificlog Town would be a logical choice as well, but it sits too close to the town and take away from the town's unique aesthetic. The circled area near Dewford Town could possibly be the home of a non-Gen III legendary trio, possibly the Legendary Dogs, that could be unlocked in the post-game. The area south of the passage between Mauville and the route leading to Fortree could serve as simply a large, extra route that could house a Legendary, or a post-game dungeon to explore. The two masses to the east of where the Battle Frontier is would be accessible via the Ferry and would serve as the game's final boon to players.
Ideas for post-game content?

  • Sub-plot involving the Legendary Dogs, as well as Lugia and Ho-Oh. Being as to there is no way of obtaining these five Legendaries in B2/W2 without transferring, or X & Y, it would stand to reason that they be obtainable in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire in a similar fashion to the Legendary Birds in X & Y. If you obtain all three Dogs in OR, you gain access to a special area to capture Ho-Oh. In AS, you do not receive Ho-Oh, but instead gain access to an area to capture Lugia if you transfer the Kalos-caught Legendary Birds from X & Y.
  • Mega Stone sub-plot heavily involving Steven Stone. After becoming Champion, you receive a message from Steven on your PokeNav about Mega Stones and asks you to come to his home in Mossdeep City so that you can help him test something out. Upon arriving, Steven explains that he's been working on an upgrade for your PokeNav that will allow you to find Mega Stones during a certain time of day using a bit of crystal from the Anistar Sundial in Anistar City. Steven will send you out to find and collect various Mega Stones and give you the Metagrossite as a reward.
  • Rayquaza sub-plot involving the Mt. Pyre couple, Archie, and Maxie. After defeating Archie/Maxie and becoming Champion, you can return to Mt. Pyre to begin a quest to receive the Green Orb and access to the Sky Pillar and Rayquaza. When you return to the summit of Mt. Pyre, you'll witness Archie/Maxie apologize for stealing their respective orbs with the other boss accompanying them for moral support. The two will notice you and leave, after which the elder couple will explain the stones' deeper connection to Groudon and Kyogre and of a third stone that was lost to time, said to be connected to the Sky Dragon. The elders will suggest asking around Pacificlog Town for more information on the mysterious Green Orb. There, you will discover a Green Orb Shard and learn that four other pieces exist in the waters of Hoenn and must be collected to restore the Orb. Luckily, the shard pulsates when it is near another fragment, so all you have to do is Dive and play Hot/Cold. After collecting the shards, you must return to Mt. Pyre to have the elders reassemble it, granting you access to Sky Pillar.
  • Regi quartet sub-plot. Upon unlocking the chambers of the Regis in Hoenn, you will discover an interesting character the first time you enter one of their caves. Brandon, the Pyramid King of the Battle Frontier, will appear and offer a tip on how to unlock each chamber, claiming to have undergone a similar challenge in another region. After capturing all three, Brandon will tell you of a secret chamber hidden far beneath the Battle Pyramid that is said to harbor the slumbering master of the Regi trio. It is there that you can battle and capture Regigigas.
  • Landerus sub-plot. After becoming Champion, you'll receive word from the Weather Institute that strange weather phenomena are occurring sporadically throughout Hoenn. The cause, depending on your version, is Tornadus or Thundurus. Capture it, and transfer its counterpart over, and you'll be able to fight and capture Landerus.
  • Reshiram and Zekrom sub-plot. After becoming Champion and completing the Mega Stone sub-plot, you can talk to Steven again to gain information on a mysterious stone said to harbor a Dragon Pokemon. This sub-plot can only occur if you've completed the Hoenn PokeDex. Steven says that the stone will only activate in the hands of one with "electrifying ideals" or one with "burning truth" in their heart. He then hands you the stone and suggests taking it to a special location on Mt. Meteor. At this location, the stone begins to react and transforms into the Legendary Reshiram or Zekrom, depending on the version, and you can then proceed to battle and capture them.
  • May/Brendan "I Wanna Be The Best" sub-plot. After becoming Champion, you will find May/Brendan at Professor Birch's Lab in Littleroot Town. If you speak with them, they will voice their regret for not trying as hard as you did on your journey and suggests you two have a battle. Your rival will finally have the last stage of their Starter and even use its Mega Stone in battle. After defeating them, your rival will leave Littleroot in an effort to train and become stronger. You can then find them on Route 103, Rustboro City, Route 110, Route 119, and outside the Lilycove Dept. Store once a day and battle a slightly stronger version of their team. If you manage to beat them at each location, they will commend your insurmountable power and give you a Treeko/Torchic/Mudkip holding its Mega Stone. You can then rebattle May/Brendan at the Lab once a day.
  • Deoxys sub-plot. Paying homage to an old rumor about Deoxys, if the player has a special Key Item and takes it to the Mossdeep City Space Center, it will trigger an event in which the Player briefly enters the rocket ship to combat a hostile "space virus". This virus turns out to be a Deoxys which you must either defeat or capture to save the Space Center's rocket.
  • Wally "I'm Going to be a Battle Frontier Champ!" sub-plot. Upon arrival at the Battle Frontier, you will be confronted by Wally. He will state that he has been training and improving himself since your last encounter and challenge you to a battle. Upon defeating him, Wally will compliment your skill, but suggest that it won't be enough to collect the Gold Symbols from each Frontier Brain. He will then challenge you to a contest to see who can collect the most Gold Symbols. This is an on-going sub-plot and yields rare rewards from Wally for each new Symbol you collect, with the final prize being a Hidden Ability Ralts with the Galladite.
  • Juan "Contest Champion" sub-plot. Throughout the game, you will notice the familiar Contest Halls of Gen III, but they will be inaccessible until the post-game. You will still be able to make PokeBlock, no worries. But, once you become Champion, the Halls will be open to contestants. Juan, the 8th Gym Leader from Emerald, will introduce himself to you when you first enter a Contest Hall and commend you for your achievements, saying that winning a couple of contests should be a breeze for someone like you. He'll suggest that the two of you are rivals of sorts and that he looks forward to seeing you perform. As you collect Ribbons and move up in the ranks of Contests, you'll notice Juan making more and more appearances and even competing against you. After you've collected every Master Rank Contest Ribbon, Juan will challenge you to a Pokemon Battle and award you with the Miloticite for your accomplishments.

Who will be the protagonists?

  • Customizable versions of Brendan and May. Their outfits will be slightly updated.
What role will Wally play?
  • He will remain as the rival.
What roles do you think Juan, Wallace, and Steven will fill?
  • Wallace will be the 8th Gym Leader. Steven will be the Champion.
  • Once you defeat Steven and the credits roll, Juan will replace Wallace for all subsequent Gym rematches, Wallace will replace Steven for all subsequent Champion rematches, and Steven will be found at Meteor Falls where he can be challenged.
Will there be any other League-related changes?
  • Besides slight Gym redesigns and puzzle alterations, no.
  • The Dewford and Mossdeep Gyms will receive major redesigns, and not resemble their RS/E counterparts in any way. Other Gyms, such as the Fortree Gym, will either remain largely unchanged with just a visual overhaul, or they will change while retaining key concepts from their originals.
Will Scott make a return? If so, what as?
  • Scott will appear in the same role as in Emerald, but much less frequently, and more towards the end of the story portion of the game.
What will Rayquaza's role in the story be?
  • Rayquaza will not be utilized during the story, similar to Ruby and Sapphire. It will instead be delegated to a post-game role.
Assume Kyogre and Groudon receive Mega Evolutions. What do you think
— their types / abilities / signature moves will be?
  • Their types will remain the same.
  • They will not receive any new ("signature") moves.
  • They will receive new, exclusive Abilities which will bring permanent weather. (Either that, or Solar Power for Groudon and Swift Swim for Kyogre.)
— their roles in the games will be?
  • Team Magma/Aqua will attempt to control them as per the original games, but this time the team leader will force them into their Mega forms to achieve their goals. The player would then challenge the legendary to battle.
— of their Megastones being the Red/Blue Orbs? Or will they be something else?
  • The Orbs will receive slight redesigns to appear as they do on the Japanese logos, and they will also serve as the Mega Stones for Groudon and Kyogre.
What will the Version Exclusive Pokemon be?
  • The same as the original Ruby and Sapphire.
Will Generation IV - VI Pokemon be available in the wild?
  • Certain ones, yes.
— If so, what Pokemon will be included/excluded?
  • Staraptor evolutionary line, Bidoof and Bibarel, Kricketot and Kricketune, Budew, Cherubi and Cherrim, Shellos and Gastrodon, Buneary, Hippopotas and Hippowdon, Croagunk and Toxicroak, and Carnivine.

Where will the stones for the new Mega Evolutions be hidden?
  • The stones for the Mega Evolutions for the starters and the legendaries will be given to the player at set times during the story by NPCs.
New areas to be introduced?
  • A mini-region (similar to the introduction of the Sevii Islands in FRLG) will be introduced post-game.
Ideas for post-game content?
  • Similar to HGSS, at certain times you will be able to see various Gym Leaders and other NPCs interact with each other, and gain a little more insight into their characters and relationships. Some that come to mind are Steven and Wallace, and Tate and Liza.
  • The Battle Frontier from Emerald will return, with some slight updates and redesigns.
  • The new mini-region will include some NPC cameos, and make references that will allow the games to be placed more solidly into the series timeline.
  • Gym Leaders can be called using the PokéNav for rematches. Steven can be challenged at Meteor Falls. Wally can be rechallenged. Certain cameo characters can be rechallenged.

Who will be the protagonists?

May and Brendan! But you can customize their clothes, hairstyles, hats, just like in X and Y.

What role will Wally play?

Most likely the Protagonist's main rival.

What roles do you think Juan, Wallace, and Steven will fill?

Juan is the Sootopolis Gym Leader, Wallace is like a boss for the Contest challenge, Steven retains his position as Champion.

Will there be any other League-related changes?

Most probably, yes.

Will Scott make a return? If so, what as?

Probably the same as in Emerald, as a wandering scout :3

What will Rayquaza's role in the story be?

A mediator between Mega Groudon (OR) or Mega Kyogre (AS).

Assume Kyogre and Groudon receive Mega Evolutions. What do you think
— their types / abilities / signature moves will be?
— their roles in the games will be?
— of their Megastones being the Red/Blue Orbs? Or will they be something else?

Mega Kyogre | Water/Flying | Eternal Drizzle | A new move called Typhoon
Mega Groudon | Fire/Ground | Eternal Drought | A new move called Famine

Mega Kyogre will expand the sea like in Sapphire in AS, while Mega Groudon does the opposite in OR.

Possibly you need the Mega Stone and the respective orb to activate its Mega Evolution.

What will the Version Exclusive Pokemon be?

Most Probably the same as Ruby and Sapphire's list along with other version exclusives in Gen 4 - 6

Will Generation IV - VI Pokemon be available in the wild?
— If so, what Pokemon will be included/excluded?

Yes.

Cross-Generational Gen 3 Families will be in it (eg Froslass, Roserade, etc.) and Mega Evos will be in it. Majority of Gen 5 and 6 might not appear.

What new Mega Evolutions will be introduced?

Mega Kyogre, Mega Groudon, Mega Rayquaza Alpha, Mega Rayquaza Omega, Mega Gallade, Mega Sableye, Mega Metagross, Mega Swampert, Mega Sceptile, Mega Blaziken Alpha or Omega (depending which current Mega Blaziken is Alpha or Omega)

Where will the stones for the new Mega Evolutions be hidden?

Either Granite Cave or Meteor Falls or a new place perhaps.

New areas to be introduced?

Islands to the southwest of Pacifidlog, Ever Grande City (that is ACTUALLY a city), an improvement to New Mauville.

Ideas for post-game content?

Battle Frontier! And rematch with gym leaders, E4, etc.

Who will be the protagonists?

Brendan/May as in the original Ruby & Sapphire.

What role will Wally play?

He will most likely play a similar role to the original games in which he captures his first Pokémon with you and battles you throughout your journey. Perhaps in these games you can battle him more frequently and him also having a heavy involvement with Mega Evolutions assuming they're back.

What roles do you think Juan, Wallace, and Steven will fill?

Juan as 8th Gym Leader, Wallace as Champion and Steven as the Ultimate trainer. If Juan doesn't take the place at 8th Gym Leader then I'd suggest he would be involved with the contests.

Will there be any other League-related changes?

The only addition they could make is returning Elite Four rematches.

Will Scott make a return? If so, what as?

Same as RSE. I'd also link him with having a strong knowledge of the Mega Evolutions in which he introduces to you at some stage of the games.

What will Rayquaza's role in the story be?

The same as the originals, calming the dispute between Kyogre & Groudon. I don't think they will change/alter the role of Rayquaza at all.

Assume Kyogre and Groudon receive Mega Evolutions. What do you think

— their types / abilities / signature moves will be?
— their roles in the games will be?
— of their Megastones being the Red/Blue Orbs? Or will they be something else?

Kyogre - Water/Ice with a signature move involving Heavy Rain.
Groudon - Fire/Ground with a move involving Solar Activity.

As for the Megastones, perhaps they could change the appearence of the Red/Blue Orbs slightly which incorporates the Mega Evolution mechanic.

What will the Version Exclusive Pokemon be?

The same as the original Ruby & Sapphire with a few post-storyline additions from different Regions.

Will Generation IV - VI Pokemon be available in the wild?
— If so, what Pokemon will be included/excluded?

If so they will probably only be available after the Champion has been won. Probably the generic Pokémon i.e Starly Line, Mareep Line, Elemental Monkeys, Fletchling Line, Honedge Line and more from the remaining Regions.

What new Mega Evolutions will be introduced?

I'd like to see the following five receive Mega Evolutions:

1) Milotic
2) Salamence
3) Metagross
4) Sableye
5) Flygon

Where will the stones for the new Mega Evolutions be hidden?

Areas that are only accessible post-storyline i.e Altering Cave, Battle Frontier etc.

New areas to be introduced?

Expansion of the Southern Island and perhaps exploring the "undiscovered" Islands that are situated South of the Region.

Ideas for post-game content?
Mini-games
Battle Frontier facility updates
Elite Four Rematches
Mega Evolution stones
More Trick House Puzzles
Gym Leader Rematches (Triple/Rotation/Sky)
Perhaps cameos of characters from different regions on specific days of the week.

Who will be the protagonists?

Brendan and May. They will also be customisable.

What role will Wally play?

The same he did in Ruby and Sapphire. He will start as a sick boy under his uncle overprotective care. You will help him capture his signature pokemon, Ralts. He will gradually overcome his sickness as he bonds with his pokemon and travel. He sees that he is capable of traveling and challenging gyms so after a while he convinces his uncle to not worry and to let him go. To us he will be a rival like Brendan or May and we will battle him various times in the game's stroy. The last time being in Victory Road. However we will be able to rechallange him somwhere in the game. Most likely Battle Frontier.

What roles do you think Juan, Wallace, and Steven will fill?

Wallace will be Sotopolis' gym leader and Steven will be the champion. Juan will most likely make a cameo appearance like Eusine did in HG/SS.

Will there be any other League-related changes?

I'd say yes. The addition of Mega stones will likely happen. Some teams might be change

Will Scott make a return? If so, what as?

Yes he will return filling the role he did in emerald in battle frontier

What will Rayquaza's role in the story be?

It's role will be to be unlocked in the post game after you have captured your own mascot and traded for the opposite one. It will be awakened by the renamed green orb that is handed down by steven after you show him both Groudon and Kyogre. It will just be captured.

Assume Kyogre and Groudon receive Mega Evolutions. What do you think— their types / abilities / signature moves will be?

Groudon will be retyped as Ground/ Fire and Kyogre will remain a water type. They might recieve enhanced versions of Drizzle and Drought. Where each will have permanent effects and will boost fire and water type moves. The weather cannot be changed by any other moves. However if both are present. The weather will alternate between them. It will say it's raining and it's sunny at the same time. Each will only recieve the benefit of the weather regardless of the opposite weather's effect. In addition to eruption and water spout they will have access to moves like Solarbeam and Thunder. It is likely that they get new moves but I can't tell. Maybe a powerful Water and Fire type move that will also conveniently recieve boost from the weather and stab.

their roles in the games will be?

Their roles will be like in Ruby and Sapphire with an interesting plot twist reguarding their transformation. They will awaken from the seafloor cavern and escape to the cave of origin where they will be battled. Groudon will cause the sea level to drop and will leave rock formations as he travels to the cave of origin. Kyogre will raise the sea level and will create thunderstorms.

of their Megastones being the Red/Blue Orbs? Or will they be something else?

The Red and Blue orbs will be key items for a while but will transform into held items after an event. The items will be known as Omega Stone and Alpha Stone.

What will the Version Exclusive Pokemon be?

Zangoose/Seviper
Solrock/Lunatone
Seedot/ Loatad

And the likes.

Will Generation IV - VI Pokemon be available in the wild?

Yes probably as something similar like Sinnoh and Hoenn sounds. More likely to be places that you visit after the post game.

— If so, what Pokemon will be included/excluded?

Regigigas will make an appearance that's for sure. About others I can't tell. We will have gen 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6 pokemon but only a selected few.

What new Mega Evolutions will be introduced?

If they were to introduce mega evolutions Metagross and Salamance will definetly get them.

Where will the stones for the new Mega Evolutions be hidden?

In routes and places. Some NPC will give them to you. Salamance's stone will be found in Meteor Falls and Steven will give you a Beldum holding Metagronite.

New areas to be introduced?

Regigigas chamber, hopefully a region like sevii islands after the story and a few places where we can catch past gen pokemon. I can't tell since I have no insight on these things. There will be an area in mount chimney were you can catch Heatran.

Ideas for post-game content?

Another smaller region to explore, Battle Frontier, catching Rayquaza and activating it's new forme. Vs Seeker hopefully. Elite Four at a higher level. A plot related to Kalos.

Who will be the protagonists? Brendan and May WITH the oppurtunity to customize
What role will Wally play? Same role as before, Rival alongside May
What roles do you think Juan, Wallace, and Steven will fill? I think Juan might be the leader of the water gym in OMEGARUBY and Wallace will be the leader of the water gym in AQUASAPPHIRE, I think Steven will be the champion.
Will there be any other League-related changes? I think they will update some of the gym leader's and leagues teams to include newer evolutions
Will Scott make a return? If so, what as? He'll be back to do the Battle Frontier thingy again, that would be nice, I liked Scott.
What will Rayquaza's role in the story be? I think he'll just be availiable to catch just like in Emerald, but not play a main part in the story.
Assume Kyogre and Groudon receive Mega Evolutions. What do you think
— their types / abilities / signature moves will be? I think they'll keep their abilities, I think Kyogre might change to Water/Steel and no idea, probably get new moves
— their roles in the games will be? The same as Ruby and Saph
— of their Megastones being the Red/Blue Orbs? Or will they be something else? I think they'll have seperate mega stones, the red and blue orbs are used to keep them peaceful, not evolve them, that's the opposite of their purpose.
What will the Version Exclusive Pokemon be? Probably the same as last time
Will Generation IV - VI Pokemon be available in the wild? I hope not
— If so, what Pokemon will be included/excluded?
What new Mega Evolutions will be introduced? Mega Shiftry, Mega Breloom, Mega Metagross, Mega Swampert, Mega Sceptile, Mega Probopass
Where will the stones for the new Mega Evolutions be hidden? I can see them being hidden all over the place
New areas to be introduced? Update some of the towns to look a bit more modern but um, no I think it'll stay the same.
Ideas for post-game content? Make a better post-game, I know Battle Frontier but like, add another Looker plot (rolls eyes) or whatever

Who will be the protagonists?
may and brendan of course..

What role will Wally play?
your rival... i suggest that you get more battles than may

What roles do you think Juan, Wallace, and Steven will fill?
i suggest that steven will be the champ and the event of emerald where you will talk to wallace in the cave of origin is present (of course rayquaza will stop the fight of both of them but sadly uncatchable). and then when you face the sotoopolis gym, he's the gym leader (i think juan is not
suited to be the sotoopolis gym leader)

Will there be any other League-related changes?
of course not... still the same but the champ is steven but if wallace its ok too

Will Scott make a return? If so, what as?
yes but he'll be like a manager or whatever you call it in the battle frontier

What will Rayquaza's role in the story be?
the stopper of the fight but uncatchable (i hope its not)

Assume Kyogre and Groudon receive Mega Evolutions. What do you think
— their types / abilities / signature moves will be?
— their roles in the games will be?
— of their Megastones being the Red/Blue Orbs? Or will they be something else?
What will the Version Exclusive Pokemon be?
lets say in the story when they faced in sotoopolis they'll activate it in their own or team aqua or team magma does it and then rayquaza descends and activate it on his own too (that was epic right)

Will Generation IV - VI Pokemon be available in the wild?
— If so, what Pokemon will be included/excluded?
well of course but in the case of gamefreak they'll put few in it

What new Mega Evolutions will be introduced?
many of course i hope mega camerupt for flannery, mega slaking for norman, mega altaria for winona, mega claydol/solrock for tate and liz and, mega crawdaunt for wallace or juan and mega metagross for steven/mega milotic for wallace!

Where will the stones for the new Mega Evolutions be hidden?
some where else like caves, secret islands and underground or underwter caverns
New areas to be introduced?
except for birth, faraway and navel rock they'll put islands for legandary pokemons too for events! i hope zeckrom and reshiram or victini or maybe yvetal or xerneas!!

Ideas for post-game content?

Who will be the protagonists?
Brendan and May.

What role will Wally play?
The same role he did in the original Ruby and Sapphire—the tritagonist. He's considered to be the third most important character regarding the story line, with the hero being the protagonist (first most important) and the rival being the deuteragonist (second most important).

What roles do you think Juan, Wallace, and Steven will fill?
I do not think that Juan will return as the Sootopolis Gym Leader. I believe Wallace will reassume that role. Steven will repossess his title as the Hoenn League Champion.

Will there be any other League-related changes?
Aesthetically, yes. Each Elite Four room will be remodeled in some way. I do not think that the Elite Four will be structured similarly to Kalos's or Unova's Pokémon Leagues. It will return to the original system.

Will Scott make a return? If so, what as?
I believe Scott will return, as the only reason he was introduced in Emerald was because of the Battle Frontier. It's very possible that the Battle Frontier will return in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, therefore Scott will also return as a recruiter of some sort.

What will Rayquaza's role in the story be?
To act as a mediator between Groudon and Kyogre. It will be captured later on at level 70.

Assume Kyogre and Groudon receive Mega Evolutions. What do you think...
— their types / abilities / signature moves will be?

Kyogre will retain its Water typing. Groudon will take on another typing (not Fire) in addition to Ground. They will gain augmented versions of their abilities, Drizzle and Drought, if not stay the same. Perhaps new Water/Ground type moves for the both of them?

— their roles in the games will be?
As with the original Ruby and Sapphire, Groudon will expand the continents/landmass and Kyogre will expand the oceans. The two will clash, causing Rayquaza to calm down the pair.

— of their Megastones being the Red/Blue Orbs? Or will they be something else?
The Orbs already have a powerful connection to the two Pokémon. It's logical to make the Orbs have two roles: to control the two Legendaries and to incite their Megaevolutions.

What will the Version Exclusive Pokemon be?
Omega Ruby- Seedot and its evolutions, Mawile (and its Megaevolution), Zangoose, Solrock, Groudon
Alpha Sapphire- Lotad and its evolutions, Sableye, Seviper, Lunatone, Kyogre

Will Generation IV - VI Pokemon be available in the wild?
— If so, what Pokemon will be included/excluded?

I don't see why not. Most of these Pokémon would only be available post-game. Only the common Pokémon from these Generations (i.e. Starly and its evolutions, etc.) will be included before the National Dex is obtained.

What new Mega Evolutions will be introduced?
Swampert, Sceptile, Shiftry, Swellow, Exploud, Hariyama, Sharpedo, Camerupt, Torkoal, Flygon/Salamence/Altaria, Zangoose/Seviper, Crawdaunt, Cradily/Armaldo, Metagross, Groudon/Kyogre, Rayquaza (two new forms)

Where will the stones for the new Mega Evolutions be hidden?
All over Hoenn. Ask certain NPCs and rivals for them, find them hidden in the ground with the Itemfinder, underneath the ocean (using Dive), etc.

New areas to be introduced?
Battle Frontier (similar to Emerald). Not much else.

Ideas for post-game content?
Backstory to the legends of Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza. More action with the Regis and Regigigas. Gym Leaders and Elite Four members can be battled again in a different location after contact through the Pokénav (a location similar to the Fighting Dojo in HG/SS and the Battleground in Platinum).

Who will be the protagonists? Its a remake, so May and Brendan, although customization may be in order
What role will Wally play?Probably the same as the original, may a bit m or maybe a bit less
What roles do you think Juan, Wallace, and Steven will fill?Because its a ruby sapphire remake, I think Juan will either be a random character or a verson exclusive gym leader with wallace and steven will be champ
Will there be any other League-related changes?Maybe some touched up gym leaders and e4 and maybe some new gym leaders
Will Scott make a return? If so, what as? If there is the battle frontier than yes as the role he did in emerald, but if not then he probably wont exist.
What will Rayquaza's role in the story be? Unless there is an emerald remake, I think he will just be a random legend that you can catch
Assume Kyogre and Groudon receive Mega Evolutions. What do you think
— their types / abilities / signature moves will becom?(<Typo) Im no expert at moves but I think the best moves in their typing.
— their roles in the games will be? The same as the ogs, The teams are trying to control them and then you fighting them.
— of their Megastones being the Red/Blue Orbs? Or will they be something else? I think something else because the orbs are made to awaken them.
What will the Version Exclusive Pokemon be? Lol I think the same as the originals.
Will Generation IV - VI Pokemon be available in the wild? No, but maybe there will be a place like the sevii islands were the newer pokemon will be found.
— If so, what Pokemon will be included/excluded?
What new Mega Evolutions will be introduced?Swampert and sceptile for sure, Possible salamance, metagross, breloom and camerupt, and I hope torkohl.
Where will the stones for the new Mega Evolutions be hidden?for the legends, I think at the first places were they are awakened, but only optainable after e4. And im sure some in meteor falls and other caves like dewfords cave.
New areas to be introduced? A place like the sevii islands, and more divable places, and some mega stone cave
Ideas for post-game content? Possible some more legends to catch, and places to explore

Who will be the protagonists? Brendan and May, same as the originals.

What role will Wally play? A similar role. His back story will be developed a little more; maybe even with a few cut-scenes and special events. You'll have to battle him a handful of times, and his final team will contain six pokemon.

What roles do you think Juan, Wallace, and Steven will fill? I think they're going to revert back to the old way of Steven as the champion, but instead of just Wallace as the gym leader, the final gym's leaders are both Juan and Wallace in a rotation battle.

Will there be any other League-related changes? I hope not! Hoenn's elite four are my favorite group of trainers.

Will Scott make a return? If so, what as? Yes, as a guide to the player in helping them through the story, and towards the end, introduce them to the Battle Frontier.

What will Rayquaza's role in the story be? Rayquaza will be able to be caught after defeating the champion, and I have a feeling there'll be a new event with the trio of Hoenn legendaries together post-game.

Assume Kyogre and Groudon receive Mega Evolutions. What do you think
— their types / abilities / signature moves will be?
I see Groudon as Fire/Ground and Kyogre remaining a pure Water type.
— their roles in the games will be? They will most likely be affecting the actions of Team Magma/Aqua and be of severe importance for the player to catch them.
— of their Megastones being the Red/Blue Orbs? Or will they be something else? It would make a lot of sense to make the Orbs their Megastones, so yes, I think that's what they'll do.

What will the Version Exclusive Pokemon be? Same as it was in the original RSE games.

Will Generation IV - VI Pokemon be available in the wild? No, but they will be available to find once entering the post-game.

What new Mega Evolutions will be introduced? Right now, I think Swampert and Sceptile are awarded mega forms, as well as Flygon, Camerupt, Slaking, Hariyama, and Sharpedo.

Where will the stones for the new Mega Evolutions be hidden? Places that can't be accessed until the champion has been defeated; possibly in a new area of Hoenn.

New areas to be introduced? I could see them adding an island that is available to visit post-game from the Battle Frontier, with Gen IV, V and VI pokemon in the wild.

Ideas for post-game content? The Battle Frontier will come back but with the same amount of events as was introduced in Emerald. I mentioned earlier that a new island may be introduced to create a way for players to catch Sinnoh, Unova, and Kalos-native pokemon.

Who will be the protagonists?

May and Brendan. I don't see the point of changing them; they are full remakes of the original R/S after all. But I do expect to see a little customization.

What role will Wally play?

Most likely the same in the original. They could spice up his team though, and give him another battle post-game. He definitely needed a better story, as he just disappears to another region in the post-game. Let's hope that doesn't happen this time.

What roles do you think Juan, Wallace, and Steven will fill?

Steven will be the champion, no doubt. This is not Emerald, but Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire. I can see Juan being the eighth Gym Leader though. They do add implement some features from further games, similar to how the Suicune plot existed in HG/SS, while it didn't in G/S.

Will there be any other League-related changes?

Not really. I'd only think they would change up the league if it was a sequel. As for the Pokémon, yeah most likely they'll get a change. Come on, Glacia and Phoebe had 2x of the same Pokémon! They need to add some more interesting and unique Pokémon to their teams. I can see a Froslass going on Glacia's team, aswell as Phoebe's.

Will Scott make a return? If so, what as?

Probably. Like I said before, they do implement features from Emerald too. He'll probably be the same as he was in Emerald, no different. I can't think of him doing something else.

What will Rayquaza's role in the story be?

He'll stop Kyogre/Groudon from wrecking Sootopolis City and Hoenn, and will probably have a mini-story or something like that explaining the glowing stuff on Kyogre/Groudon. Hopefully he gets a powerup or a mega-evolution of some sort.

Assume Kyogre and Groudon receive Mega Evolutions. What do you think

I don't mind. They are already good as they are, but a boost could definitely help in spicing up the story. Then it would definitely make it more interesting!

— their types / abilities / signature moves will be?

Groudon will probably become Fire/Ground. I think this because he has lava glowing on its tail (or atleast that's what it looks like), so that would make sense. They could also make Kyogre Water/Dark and give him a signature move called something like Harsh Storm? I suck at naming moves lol. Their abilities can stay the same because their abilities are fine as they are. They can't get better ones. Drought will too support Mega Groudon even further.

— their roles in the games will be?

It'll all be probably the same until Maxie/Archie awakens one, which then they wake up, escape and that cutscene starts. They'll probably get the powerup/mega evolution after that, and then the fight will commence. It won't be too different from R/S, but I can see Gamefreak giving it a little change to make it more interesting.

— of their Megastones being the Red/Blue Orbs? Or will they be something else?

Either Alpha Orb or Omega Orb. If not that, then Red/Blue. I don't see them giving them nites, but they could potentially do that.

What will the Version Exclusive Pokemon be?

The same as the original. They'll add some new Pokémon then and there, and make them exclusives, for example Swirlix and Spritzee could make a return. Spritzee in Omega Ruby and Swirlix in Alpha Sapphire.

Will Generation IV - VI Pokemon be available in the wild?

Yeah. Like I said previously, we will probably see new Pokémon in Hoenn to give it more variety. Why would they make it exactly the same? So yeah, I can definitely see some change of sort of the wild Pokémon.

— If so, what Pokemon will be included/excluded?

They'll probably add some previous generation Pokémon that weren't available then, and some 4/5/6 mon that you'd probably think that would go there. For example. I'd like to see Bergmite in Shoal Cave, and Riolu in Granite Cave.

What new Mega Evolutions will be introduced?

Well... let's see here. Kyogre, Groudon and Rayquaza all seem to most likely getting mega evolutions since they mentioned "mega shinka" on the show last night, when Kyogre/Groudon were being shown. I'd like to see Lati@site be introduced in this game too, and I'd love to see Mega Sableye and Mega Cacturne. <3

Where will the stones for the new Mega Evolutions be hidden?

They could be held alongside them when you capture them, for the legendaries? And as for the other ones, we'll probably see them scattered around where you catch the base formes, and the gyms. Like Sablenite in Granite Cave.

New areas to be introduced?

I don't see anything new except for the Battle Frontier. They won't introduce too many new things in a remake, as they want to keep it most likely as nostalgic as possible. So no.

Ideas for post-game content?

I'd love the Gym Leader rematches from Emerald to be in these games. They were so fun to do! I can also see some sort of missions, and possibly new Pokémon to find in the wild and catch.

Who will be the protagonists?
Revised versions of Brendan and May. Customisable outfits.

What role will Wally play?
Same role as before, perhaps some extra chatter about Mega Evolution stones due to his Gardevoir.

What roles do you think Juan, Wallace, and Steven will fill?
Juan is the 8th Gym Leader, Wallace is the champion, and Steven will play a slightly more substantial role in occasionally interacting with the trainer.

Will there be any other League-related changes?
Perhaps the idea of tackling them in an arbitrary order. Other than that, nah.

Will Scott make a return? If so, what as?
Sure. Same as before, to introduce the trainer to the Battle Frontier.

What will Rayquaza's role in the story be?
Same as before, with a Mega twist mixed in.

Assume Kyogre and Groudon receive Mega Evolutions. What do you think
— their types / abilities / signature moves will be?

Fire/Ground and Water/Ice??? (I have no knowledge of abilities or moves, I'm terrible at the metagame ): )

— their roles in the games will be?
Same as before. Token legendaries of Hoenn. Slightly angrier this time in their Mega forms.

— of their Megastones being the Red/Blue Orbs? Or will they be something else?
Red/Blue Orbs will remain as such in the beginning, and later be revealed to be Groudonite and Kyogreite. (Or Kyogrite??? idk)

What will the Version Exclusive Pokemon be?
Same as Gen 3 with a bunch of extra legendaries thrown in. Perhaps Lugia/Palkia in Ruby and Ho-Oh/Dialga in Sapphire?

Will Generation IV - VI Pokemon be available in the wild?
None in the beginning.

What new Mega Evolutions will be introduced?
Hoenn Starters, Hoenn legendary trio, maybe some random one like Tropius or something lol

Where will the stones for the new Mega Evolutions be hidden?
Given to you or near the legendaries themselves.

New areas to be introduced?
Sevii Islands please please please

Ideas for post-game content?
Battle Frontier and Sevii Islands. That'll be it.

Areas of Speculation
Who will be the protagonists?
May and Brendan with minor adjustments to their outfits and no customization.
What role will Wally play?
The same role he played in the originals. A sick boy who you help catch his first Pokemon and who battles you a few times.
What roles do you think Juan, Wallace, and Steven will fill?
Wallace will retain his Gym Leader role from RS will Steven retaining his Champion role. Juan will not exist in the game as he was not a factor in the originals.
Will there be any other League-related changes?
No. The Gyms may get a visual redesign or an overhaul but otherwise the Leaders and Elite Four will stay the same.
Will Scott make a return? If so, what as?
Yes as a recruiter for either the Battle Tower or the Battle Frontier.
What will Rayquaza's role in the story be?
Rayquaza will only be mentioned in the backstory. Otherwise, he will be restricted to post game content.
Assume Kyogre and Groudon receive Mega Evolutions. What do you think
— their types / abilities / signature moves will be?
They will keep their types and signature movies. Their abilities will also stay the same whilst other Pokemon with the same ability either as a main ability or a hidden ability will be retconned to have a different ability.
— their roles in the games will be?
The same as in the originals. Their respective team will go after them. However, this time they will Mega Evolve before causing even more damage and fleeing to the Cave of Origin.
— of their Megastones being the Red/Blue Orbs? Or will they be something else?
The Red and Blue orbs will retain their original use. Instead, they will Mega Evolve under their own power and without the use of Megastones at all.
What will the Version Exclusive Pokemon be?
The version exclusives will be the same as in the originals. However, some of those that come in pairs (ex. Plusle and Minun) will be split up with the first mentioned member being in OmegaRuby and the second in AlphaSapphire. Evolutions of Hoenn Pokemon introduced later will be exclusive to OmegaRuby will Pre-evos introduced later will be exclusive to AlphaSapphire.
Will Generation IV - VI Pokemon be available in the wild?
Yes.
— If so, what Pokemon will be included/excluded?
Shellos as well as those related to Hoenn Pokemon and some of the more common water types will be available post-game.
What new Mega Evolutions will be introduced?
Mega Evolutions for the other Hoenn starters, the Weather Trio, and either the common birds or rodents.
Where will the stones for the new Mega Evolutions be hidden?
The ones for the starters will be a gift from Professor Birch or Steven Stone for completing the regional Pokedex. All others will be post game on iin the newer areas you cannot reach until then.
New areas to be introduced?
-LaRouse City from the Destiny Deoxy's movie will house the Battle Tower/Battle Frontier
-The Temple of the Sea from Pokemon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea
- A small set of islands which has its own smaller version of the Pokemon League
Ideas for post-game content?
-Finding the Jade Orb and climbing the Sky Pillar to awaken Rayqyaza
-Getting Manaphy from the Temple of the Sea (Event only)
-Catching Kyogre at the Temple of the Sea (If you knocked it out in the Cave of Origin)
-Battle Tower/Battle Frontier
-The mini-League mention above
-Catching Groudon in Mt. Chimney (If you knocked it out in the Cave of Origin)
- Participating in the Grand Festival from the anime (Unlockable after you get 5 ribbons at Master Rank from 5 different cities)

Who will be the protagonists?
Brendan and May.
What role will Wally play?
A rival, like in RSE.
What roles do you think Juan, Wallace, and Steven will fill?
Wallace; 8th gym leader, Steven; Champion, Juan; Not in game.
Will there be any other League-related changes?
I don't think so, maybe other Pokémon and other level.
Will Scott make a return? If so, what as?
Yes, I think just like in RSE
What will Rayquaza's role in the story be?
The same as in RSE but he'll also get a Mega-Stone.
Assume Kyogre and Groudon receive Mega Evolutions. What do you think
— their types / abilities / signature moves will be?

Types: The same.
Abilities: Maybe the same but more powerful and with another name, idk.
Signature moves: Kyogre; Something with a huge wave. Groudon; Something with a lava eruption.
— their roles in the games will be?
The same as in RSE.
— of their Megastones being the Red/Blue Orbs? Or will they be something else?
I think someone will find out that the orbs are their Mega-Stones.
What will the Version Exclusive Pokemon be?
Groudon for Ruby and Kyogre for Sapphire. And Latios and Latias I think.
Will Generation IV - VI Pokemon be available in the wild?
— If so, what Pokemon will be included/excluded?

I think they'll all be available in wild but realistic and not too much. So there won't be any Arceus wandering in the tall grass.
What new Mega Evolutions will be introduced?
Groudon, Kyogre and Rayquaza and the starters. Maybe another generation starters too, like Johto.
Or some other strong Hoenn Pokémon.
Where will the stones for the new Mega Evolutions be hidden?
Legendaries: Given to you by npc's.
Normal Pokémon: Just like the Mega-Stones for Houndoom and such in XY.
Spread around the region.
New areas to be introduced?
Southern Island expanded for a bigger backstory for Latios and Latias.
Battle Frontier expanded.
Mirage Island expanded.
Ideas for post-game content?
A bigger Regi- story.
A mission/quest like Looker in XY.
